Abstract

A combined shower and bathtub has two parallel spaced vertical walls. Brackets secured at the same level are secured to the opposite walls. A curtain rod with hooks is supported by and extends horizontally between the brackets. A plurality of plastic coated wires parallel to and coplanar with the rod extend tautly between the brackets.

To this end, the bathroom utilizes a combined shower and bathtub extending between two parallel vertical walls. First and second elongated horizontal brackets disposed above the level of the shower head are employed. Each bracket is secured to a corresponding wall. The brackets lie in a common horizontal plane. The front ends of the brackets which lie in a common vertical plane support opposite ends of a curtain rod which extends horizontally therebetween above the front of the tub. Hooks are slidably disposed on the rod and serve as a support for a shower curtain.

A plurality of spaced horizontal parallel plastic coated wires parallel to and coplanar with the rod are secured at opposite ends to opposite brackets and extend tautly therebetween.

Clothing can be supported detachably on the wires or hung therefrom to drip dry, the water falling into the tub and draining out.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Referring first to FIGS. 1 and 2, a bathroom has a bathtub extending between two parallel vertical walls 12. A shower head 14 is disposed on one wall.

First and second elongated horizontal brackets 16 lying in a common horizontal plane above head 14 are secured each to a corresponding wall whereby the front edges of the brackets lie in a common vertical plane. Adjacent each edge of the brackets is a hole or bore 18 in which is disposed a corresponding end of a curtain rod 20 whereby the rod extends horizontally between the walls and overlies the front edge of the tub.

Hooks 22 are slidably disposed on the rod and serve to support a shower curtain 28.

A plurality of plastic coated wires 24 parallel spaced and coplanar are parallel to and lie in the same plane as the rod. These wires are secured at opposite ends to opposite brackets and extend tautly therebetween.

FIG. 3 shows a modified bracket having upper and lower flanges 26 about hole or bore 18. Screws can extend through holes in the flanges to hold the brackets in place.

While I have described my invention with particular reference to the drawings, such is not to be considered as limiting its actual scope.

Having thus described this invention, what is asserted as new is:

1. In combination with a bathtub shower extending between first and second parallel vertical walls, a shower head extending out of one of said walls first and second horizontally elongated brackets lying in a common horizontal plane disposed above the head, each bracket being secured to a corresponding wall, each bracket having at a corresponding end rod supporting means;

a horizontal curtain rod overlying the front edge of the tub, said rod being supported at each end by a corresponding one of the rod supporting means and extending between the brackets; and

a plurality of horizontal parallel wires which are plastic coated and which are coplanar with and parallel to said rod, each wire being secured at each end to a corresponding bracket and extending tautly therebetween.

2. The combination of claim 1 wherein a plurality of hooks slidably engage the rod.

3. The combination of claim 2 further including a curtain detachably hung from said hooks.

Claims (3)

1. In combination with a bathtub shower extending between first and second parallel vertical walls, a shower head extending out of one of said walls FIRST AND SECOND HORIZONTALLY ELONGATED BRACKETS LYING IN A COMMON HORIZONTAL PLANE DISPOSED ABOVE THE HEAD, EACH BRACKET BEING SECURED TO A CORRESPONDING WALL, EACH BRACKET HAVING AT A CORRESPONDING END ROD SUPPORTING MEANS; A HORIZONTAL CURTAIN ROD OVERLYING THE FRONT EDGE OF THE TUB, SAID ROD BEING SUPPORTED AT EACH END BY A CORRESPONDING ONE OF THE ROD SUPPORTING MEANS AND EXTENDING BETWEEN THE BRACKETS; AND A PLURALITY OF HORIZONTAL PARALLEL WIRES WHICH ARE PLASTIC COATED AND WHICH ARE COPLANAR WITH AND PARALLEL TO SAID ROD, EACH WIRE BEING SECURED AT EACH END TO A CORRESPONDING BRACKET AND EXTENDING TAUTLY THEREBETWEEN.

2. The combination of claim 1 wherein a plurality of hooks slidably engage the rod.

3. The combination of claim 2 further including a curtain detachably hung from said hooks.
