Abstract
In an occult illuminator system, an occult illuminator device and method are disclosed comprising, inter alia, providing a hollow chamber having window means therein so that the interior thereof can be seen by a person as a viewer looking into said chamber through said window means, said chamber having light reflective material lining the interior thereof, at least one half of which is crinkled metal foil, illuminating the interior of said chamber and reflecting the light therein off said lining and through said window means to the eye of said viewer, whereby to form images which appear in said chamber in the mind of said viewer.
Description
ilnited States Patent [1 1 Boyle Sept. 18, 1973 OCCULT ILLUMINATOR SYSTEM Primary Examiner-David Schonberg Assistant Examiner-Michael J. Tokar Attorney-Charles W. Chandler [57] ABSTRACT in an occult illuminator system, an occult illuminator device and method are disclosed comprising, inter alia, providing a hollow chamber having window means therein so that the interior thereof can be seen by a person as a viewer looking into said chamber through said window means, said chamber having light reflective material lining the interior thereof, at least one half of which is crinkled metal foil, illuminating the interior of said chamber and reflecting the light therein off said lining and through said window means to the eye of said viewer, whereby to form images which appear in said chamber in the mind of said viewer.
4 Claims, 3 Drawing Figures 1 OCCULT ILLUMINATOR SYSTEM My invention relates to the mystic sciences, so called, or the occult.
The principal object of my invention is to provide an occult illuminator system by which students of theoccult can satisfy their yearnings after mysterious and supernatural powers and forces.
The foregoing object of my invention and the advantages thereof will become apparent during the course of the following description, taken in conjunction with the accompanying drawings, in which FIGS. 1 and 2 are, respectively, top plan and front elevational views of an occult illuminator system embodying my invention; and
FIG. 3 is a vertical sectional view of the structure of FIG. 1 taken on the line 3-3 thereof.
' Referring to the drawings in greater detail, generally designates said embodiment of my invention which comprises a hollow square-based isosceles triangularsided frusto-pyramidal illuminated light-reflecting container. The sides of the container 10, which are designated 14, form at the upper ends thereof an-eye-cupped gazing opening or peep hole 17 and at the bottom ends thereof are bonded to upstanding edges 13 on a base 12.A mirror 22 which, in the instance, is spherically convex is suitably bonded to the inside face of the base 12 and disposed so as to face said peep hole 17. The-inside faces of the walls 14 are lined with reflective material such as metal foil which is smooth except for crinkles therein. The surface shading of the metal foil lining 20 in FIG. 3 is intended to illustrate this condition of'said lining 20of'being both crinkly and smooth. Each wall 14 is provided with a plurality of equally spaced apart horizontally aligned apertures ls'disposed approximately one-third of the full pyramid altitude of the container 10 if the latter were a complete pyramid. Said container 10'is provided with a light source which, in the instance, comprises a plurality of lighttransmitting cylinders 19 carried in the sides 14, which cylinders 19 are of translucent material of length approximately one-twelfth that of said full pyramid altitude. The cylinders 19, known as fiber optics, are preferably formedof colored plastic and are fitted and heldin said apertures 15. The cylinders 19 are preferably of different colors.
In use of said container 10, light exterior thereto enters the interior thereof through said cylinders 19 and is converted to different colored lights which differently colored light is reflected by the metal foil lining 20 and the mirror 22. The user gazes with one eye into the interior of said container 10 by way of said peep hole 17. The user sees in the center of the container 10 the reflection of his own eye and theresurrounding an illuminated frusto-pyramidal reflective interior structure being the image of the mirror 22 and of the foursided metal foil lining 20. Students of the occult who gaze into the container 10 withvconcentration are able to discern images, objects and other phantasms which enable them to study and bring under human observation what appears to them to be phenomena of the occult involving extrasensory perception, telepathy, hypnotism, mesmerism and the like mystic powers and forces;
It will thus be seen that there has been provided by my invention an occult illuminator system in which the object hereinabove set forth, together with many thoroughly practical advantages, has been successfully achieved. While a preferred embodiment of my invention has been shown and described it is to be understood that variations and changes may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of my invention as de'- fined by the appended claims.
What I claim is:
1. in an occult illuminator system, an occult illuminator device, comprising:
ahollow chamber having interior walls facing a base,
a mirror mounted on the base, and an opening for a user to view the mirror; crinkled metal foil'lining the interior walls of the chamber so as to form an'image on said mirror; and alight source "for said chamber for-illuminating the interior thereof whereby the user can view the imageof the crinkled foil in the mirror along a line of sight through the chamber opening.
2. An occult illuminator device as claimed in claim 1, said chamber being a square based isosceles triangular-sidedfrusto-pyramidal shaped chamber.
3. An occult illuminator device as claimed in claim 1, said source comprising a plurality of lighttransmitting cylinders of translucent material carried in said side wall means of said chamber for transmitting light from the exterior to the interior thereof;
4. An occult illuminator device as claimed in claim 3, said cylinders being differently colored translucent material for transmitting a plurality of differently colored lights to the interior of said chamber.
