COMBINED WARDROBE-HOOK AND SHADE FIXTURE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 367,202, dated July 26, 1887.

Be it known that I, JAMES FANNING, of Salem, in the county of Essex and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and Improved Oombined Wardrobe-Hook and Shade and Curtain Fixture, of which the following is a full, clear, and exact description.

The invention has for its object to provide a combined article of simple and cheap construction to be used either as a Wardrobe attachment or as a curtain and shade fixture; and the invention consists in the construction and combination of parts, as hereinafter described and claimed.-

Reference is to be had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part of this specification, in which similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures.

Figure 1 is a perspective vicwof the invention as adapted for use as a wardrobe attachment. Fig. 2 is alike view of the invention, showing a shade-roller held therein; and Fig. 3 isa like view of theinvention, showing a curtain-pole held therein.

The main longitudinal wire A of the device is preferably made in two sections,the inner ends, a a, thereof being looped around each other, as shown, so that the said wire may be shortenedorlengthened,asdesired. Thejoint of the sections may be formed otherwise than in the manner shown, if preferred.

On the wire A, at intervals along same, are secured or formed hooks B C, disposed in opposite directions, the hooks B being formed with downwardly bent spurred ends I), to adapt the said hooks to engage awindow-casingora strip or other portion of the'wood-work of a closet, door, window, or other place, and the hooks Oform hooks for supporting hats and otherartielesofwearing'apparel. The invention is adapted to receive a shade- 7 form the eyes or loops B, for receiving screws as an additional means of securing the device in position.

The hooks B and O and the depending arms F, when the same are not formed of the piece of wire forming the main rod or wire A, are soldered to the said main wire or bent so tightly around it as not to turn orswingdownward when the curtain-pole or shade-roller is employed.

Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-

1. An article ofthe character described,con-

sisting of amain longitudinal wire, A, having the hooks B O at intervals thereon and disposed in opposite directions, the hooks O, having eyes or loops in their-outer ends, substantially as described. 2. The main wire A, carrying at intervals the oppositely-disposed hooks B G, in combination with the depending arms F, having looped lower ends, f, substantially as and for the purpose specified.

3. The jointed extensible main wire A, the hooks Bthereon, looped, as at B, and formed with downwardly-bent pointed ends b, in combination with the hooks G and depending arms F, substantially as described.
