Beit known that We,FRANK H. DE GUERRE und WILLIE W. DE LANG, both citizens of the United States, residing in the city and county of Sen Francisco, und Ste-te ol Californie, have invented e new and useful Grete, of which the following is e specification.

Our invention relates to improvements in mnntelend other grntes,end will he understood by reference to the accompanying drawings and the letters marked thereon.

The following is the construction of the inn ventien:

We forni the grate of any design to suit the requirements of the trede.

A represents the grate-front; B, the grate; C, the gratte pivots or journals; D, the du1nping-lever; F, the rest-noten for the hearing of the grate upon the duxnpinglever D. G represents the lever connecting joint; H, the guide-eye, and .l the dumping-lever eye.

The ring 0r eye J forms the stop to prevent the grate from tilting higher than reqnired,end in consequence forms an importentfeatnre of our combination forming the dumping appnratus. down to a horizontal position, the front of the grate rests rmly upon the dumping-lever D, thus dispensing with the nesting of all stops upon the grate-frame, as the ring J and the lever D regulate the seme perfectly.

The lever D may he constructed either Straight or curved, es may be required; but we generally employ e lever more or less eurvefl.
