W. O. BERGER.
BAVES TROUGH HANGER. No. 350,909. Patented Oct. 19, 1886- WAXQw/w 9. 3 1,
ATTORNEY WITNESSES:
u. PEI'ERS. Ph wmhn w. Wnhingion. 11c.
NITED STATES WILSON C. BERGER,
or CANTON, OHIO.
EAVES-TROUGH HANGER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 350,909, dated October 19,1886.
Application filed March 24, 1886.
T0 (LZZ whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, W'rLsoN C. BERGER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Canton, in the county of Stark and State of Ohio, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Eaves-TroughHangers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full,
clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the annexed drawings, making a part of this specification, and to theletters and figures of reference marked thereon, in which- Figure l is a perspective view showing hanger attached to an eaves-trough. Fig. 2 is a transverse section of an eaves-trough, showing hanger attached thereto. Fig. 3 is a transverse section of hanger through line 4 4, Fig. 2. 4 is a transverse section through line I y, Fig. 2.
The present invention has relation to eaves trough hangers; and its nature consists in the different parts and combination of parts, hereinafter described, and particularly pointed out in the claims.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in all the figures of the drawings.
In the accompanying drawings, A represents the ewes-trough, which may be constructed in the ordinary manner, and o the trough A is attached the hanger B, substan tially as shown in the drawings. The hanger B is formed of sheet metal, and for the purpose of strengthening the hanger the bent or beveled portions (1 are formed substantially as shown.
For the purpose of strengthening the g'rasp I), which embraces the head of the trough, the ribs 0 c are formed. which may be substan- Scrial No. 190,325. (No molel.)
tially as shown. These ribs 0 0 maybe formed 40 by means of a suitable die.
The end of the hanger B, whiclris attached to the raw edge of the trough A, is provided with the hook or grasp d, which embraces the lip d, as shown in Figs. 1 and 2. The lip d is formed by bending a portion of the trough A outwardly. It will be understood that one of the lips d is formed at each place where a hanger is to be located.
In use the grasp b is properly adjusted on the bead of the trough A, when the hook or grasp d is adjusted as shown in Figs. 1 and 2.
It will be seen that by my peculiar arrange ment I am enabled to form an eavestrough hanger of a single piece of metal. It will be seen that the lip d is bent outwardly and downwardly.
Having now fully described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-- 1. The hanger B, formed of a single piece of sheet metal, having the grasp b, the bent or beveled portions (1, andthe hook or grasp d, for receiving the outwardly-formed lip (1, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
2. The hanger B, formed of a single piece of sheet metal, having the grasp I), provided with the ribs 0 c, the bent-or beveled portion a, and the hook or grasp d, for receiving the outwardly-formed lip d, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
In testimony that I claim the above I have hereunto subscribed my name in the presence of two witnesses.
, WILSON G. BERGER.
