Description

- March 19,1968 v o. o. BUTLER 3,373,448
SHOWER- H Filed July 27, 1965 INVENTOR 0H0 Day/e Bur/er wwwy w ATTORNEYS United States Patent 3,373,448 SHOWER-SHAVER Otto Doyle Butler, 2607 W. Shandon, Midland, Tex. 79701 Filed July 27, 1965, Ser. No. 475,289 2 Claims. (Cl. 4-1) ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLUSURE A bathroom appliance for installation in a shower and including a fog resistant sheet metal mirror and a support for toilet articles.
Background of invention As is well known the process of shaving is greatly facilitated if it is carried on in a high humidity environment such as is encountered in a shower. Shaving facilities such as a mirror and a holder for the shaver and accessories have not heretofore been provided in a manner permitting convenient use in a shower.
Summary of invention It is a principal purpose and object of the present invention to provide a bathroom appliance comprising a combined mirror and receptacle which may be readily installed on a flat shower wall which occupies a minimum space, which is inexpensive and is capable of withstanding the adverse effects of a high moisture environment.
In attaining this and other objects, the invention provides a mirror, preferably of polished sheet metal of high thermal conductivity which is resistant to fogging and is durable and an open rack projecting forwardly from the lower edge of the mirror to hold a shaver and other toilet articles.
The drawings The single figure is a perspective view of the preferred embodiment of the invention.
Preferred embodiment With reference to the drawing the present invention comprises a mounting frame 1 made of plastic coated wire which includes a retaining rack 2 for shaving accessories and to which a mirror 3 is suitably attached. The mirror, which must remain reflective under changing temperatures and high moisture association is made of 3,3 73,448 Patented Mar. 19, 1968 stainless steel or any highly conductive metal which has good reflective characteristics when polished.
At its upper edge the frame 1 is provided with a pair of hanging loops 4 and to permit the appliance to be detachably mounted in a shower stall.
The appliance when installed will permit shaving in a shower stall or similar facility by providing a mirror type reflective surface for visual surveillance of the operation as well as retaining the necessary accessories which may be required.
The invention may be embodied in other specific forms without departing from the spirit or essential characteristics thereof. The present embodiment is therefore to be considered in all respects as illustrative and not restrictive, the scope of the invention being indicated by the appended claims rather than by the foregoing description, and all changes which come Within the meaning and range of equivalency of the claims are therefore intended to be embraced therein.
What is claimed and desired to be secured by Letters Patent is:

A bathroom appliance adapted for installation on the wall of a shower enclosure comprising an essentially flat sheet of material having high thermal conductivity properties for reducing fog, said sheet providing a reflecting mirror surface and adapted to be positioned against said wall, a wire rack depending from the lower portion of said sheet, the rear portion of said wire rack being essentially coplanar with said sheet and said rack projecting forwardly from the plane of said sheet to form a receptacle for toilet articles.
2. The appliance according to claim 1 wherein said sheet is formed of polished metal and said rack is an open framework formed of lengths of plastic coated wire.
