INVENTOR ATTORNEY United States Patent Oiilice Patented May d, 1965 3,18LS46 TEASNG (16MB Anton Abraham, Perchtoldsdorf, N., Austria, assigner to Wiener Kammfahrik Anton Abraham Komm. Gest.,
Wiener Neudorf, Austria, a corporation of Austria Filed Mar. l, 1963, Ser. No. 265,903 Claims priority, appiication Austria, Mar. 19, 1962, A 2,253/62 1 Ciaim. (Ci. 132-159) The present invention relates to a teasing comb in general, and to such teasing comb, in which at least some of the comb teeth have incisions on their front side for the formation of prongs.
It is one object of the present invention to provide a teasing comb, in which at least some of the comb teeth have incisions on their front side to form prongs and in which the prongs are slightly bent outwardly in the plane formed by the row of teeth.
It has been found that due to the outwardly bent prongs provided at the end of the comb teeth, the hair can be teased with the comb designed in accordance with the present invention with a better result than that obtained with the known combs, the teeth ends of which are equipped with straight prongs. Due to the outwardly bent prongs, the striking edges of the teeth ends arc extended, so that more hair is reached and the hair can be teased not only more effectively, but also within a shorter time.
It is another object of the present invention to provide a teasing comb having prongs at the end of at least some of the teeth and wherein the prongs have pointed ends.
It is a further object of the present invention to provide a teasing comb having prongs at the end of at least some of the teeth and wherein the prong ends are ot substantially drop-shape.
With these and other objects in view, which will become apparent in the following detailed description, the present invention will be clearly understood in connection with the accompanying drawings, in which:
FIGURE 1 is an eievation of one embodiment of a hair comb having a handle;
FIG. 2 is a fragmentary elevation of a second embodiment of the hair comb, designed in accordance with the present invention; and
FIG. 3 is a fragmentary elevation of a third embodiment of the hair comb, designed in accordance with the present invention.
Referring now to the drawings, and in particular to FIG. 1, the comb 1 is equipped alternately with long teeth 2 and with short teeth 3. The long teeth 2 have the conventional blunted teeth shape and the front face of the short teeth 3 has incisions for the purpose to form prongs 4 and 5, which are slightly bent outwardly in the plane delined by the row of teeth.
Referring now to a second embodiment shown in FIG. 2, it will be found that the comb 1' is equipped with short teeth 6 having blunted ends and with long teeth 7, which are equipped at their front face with outwardly bent prongs 8 and 9, the ends of which are pointed.
Referring now to FIG. 3 of the drawings, a third embodiment is disclosed, which is similar to that of the embodiment shown in FIG. l, in which, however, the short teeth 10 of the comb 12 are equipped with outwardly bent prongs 101 and 102 and which are equipped at their ends with drop-shaped enlargements 11. The ends of the long teeth 12 are likewise equipped with drop-shaped enlargements 13, without providing, however, the incisions as shown in connection with the short teeth 10.
it is also possible to provide incisions at the short, as well as on the long teeth in order to arrive at prongs formed by the short teeth, as well as by the long teeth, and it is also possible to provide the teeth of the comb of equal length and provide on each of the teeth an incision to form each tooth into two prongs, or the comb may be equipped with long and short teeth, as shown, and the short teeth, as well as the long teeth are equipped with incisions to form prongs of substantially drop-shape.
While I have disclosed several embodiments of the present invention, it is to be understood that these embodiments are given by example only and not in a limiting sense, the scope of the present invention being determined by the objects and the claim.
I claim:
A teasing comb comprising a main body,
a plurality of teeth extending from said main body substantially parallel relative to each other and disposed very closely to each other in a single plane,
said teeth being alternately longer and shorter,
at least said shorter teeth having oppositely directed prongs at their ends extending laterally in said single plane, and
said longer teeth and said prongs having drop shaped enlargements at their free end.
