On the other hand, in different sanitary installations the position of the outlet pipe varies according to the installation and therefore necessitates in .each case a basin of which the emplacement of the outlet pipemust be appropriate to, the emplacement of the said fall pipe; it is therefore necessaryto have a very extensive range of basins having the same form but with different outletpipesj The tooling required for the manufiacture of Water closet basins should therefore up to present, comprise as many moulds as there are different outlet pipes.
In order to remedy this, disadvantage the process of manufacture according to the invention consists in making abasin in plastic material by having a number of moulded elements each in one pieee and which can be assembled on horizontal planes.
According to one advantageous form of the invention, the manufacture of sucha basin consists in making by by moulding four elements, as a maximum, and in asseinbling them by sticking them together or the like on Y j a horizontal plane, the first element forming the upper rim of the basin with its supply pipe, the second element with internal directing walls forming the bowl of the ,fixed in an external junction moulding forming a part basin, its upper edge being housed and fixed, for example by sticking, in a housing provided on the lower edge of the first element, while its lower edge is housed and 5f the third element, which" forms with a second element i a spyhon, all' resting by its moulding iunctionon the fourth element forming the base of the assembly or pedesta'l of the basin. 1
According to another characteristic of the invention,
; the element forming the pedestal of the basin has three outlet orifices, of which one is arranged laterally on a horizontal axis and the other two are side by side in the base of the pedestal on vertical axes, these three orifices beingmoreover with. advantage closeable if desired by a similar corresponding type of sealing plug.
Accordingto'a further object of the invention, the water closet basin is fixed to the floor by means of a supporting base, preferably in plastic material, of internal dimensions corresponding to those of the pedestal of the basin, givingon the one hand holes for the introduction of screws to fix it to the floor and onthe other hand threaded pegs projecting verticallyon the upper part of the said body and inserted into the holes madein the pedestal of the basin in order to receive fixing nuts, capped or the like. g i

The element 3 is formed at the rear of another bowl "8 into which opens the said tubulure 7, and 'at the front by a vertical 'tubulure 9 a moulding in the form of a double groove 10 being provided over all of its periphery.
The pedestal 4 forming the base of the assembly has three outlet orifices of which one, marked 11 on the diagram, is arranged on a horizontal axis in the rear part of the said pedestal and the two others marked 11' and 11', are on vertical axes in the part forming the base of the said element. These orifices, of circular; section,
have towards the inside apart 12, or 12' or 12", in the form of a section of cone and a tubular part 13 or 13' The assembly of'these four elements, of which the manufacture by moulding otters no difliculty owing to the fact that each element is easily moulded in one piece, is brought about with the aid of the suitably arranged grooves 6 and 10. Actually'the upper edge 2 of the elements 2fits, and is fixed by -sticking, in the groove 6 of the element 1, while its lower edge fits and is fixedin its turn in the upper part of the double groove 10, the
element 4.
When thus assembled, the water closet basin accord ing-to the invention has internally a syphon formedby the assembly of the elements Zand- 3, the tubulure 7 dropping to midway in the bowl 8 serving as entry tubulure andthe discharge tubulure. 9 emptying into the element 4. f
A water closet basin made 'in-this way can serve equally, according to the" installation, for a 'discharge' pipe latthe rearor fora discharge pipe central or offset in'the base. According to the application, the two orifices which are not used are closed by sealing'plugs such as shown at 14 in FIGURE 4, while the outlet orifice is'provided either for the base, with an adaptor. such as 15, 'or for the rear wallwith an adaptor such as 16 (FIGURE 5) in the form ofa elbow. The-latter may be able 1 to rotate by a halt circle with respect to the basin in order to allow of its fixing according ,to the'orientation of the tail pipe, and it is provided with a tubulure 17 connected to a ventilation pipe. As was stated at the start of this specification, another Object of the invention is to produce a supporting base in order to facilitate the fixation of the water closet basin to the floor. This supporting base, marked 19 in FIGURES 6 to 8, preferably in plastic material, of a form which is substantially rectangular and of dimensions adapted to the internal dimensions of the pedestal of the basin, is pierced with four holes 20 for the introduction of screws, such as 21, intended for fixing the base to the floor, and surmounted by four threaded pegs 22 projected vertically on the upper face of the said base andintended to be introduced into the holes provided for this purpose on the base of the pedestal, the said pedestal being kept on the said pegs by capped nuts 23.
The internal edges of the base have reference marks 24 corresponding to the outlet orifices of the basin. This form greatly facilitates the placing of the basin since it is sufficient, starting for example with a central discharge pipe 25 shown in FIGURE 6 as dotted lines, to make the two axes AA and BB of this pipe coincide with the appropriate reference marks 24 of the base. The latter is then fixed to the floor in the desired position by the screws 21, and it is only necessary to place the basin on the base and to screw up the screws 23, the central outlet orifice corresponding exactly to the discharge pipe.
The manufacture according to the invention of a water closet basin in plastic material has been described above with reference to the attached diagrams starting from four main elements, but it is of course understood that it is not a departure from the sphere of the invention to make such a product of three elements, for example by combining the element or rim 1 with the element or bowl 2.
What I claim is:
1. As a new article of manufacture, a multi-piece water closet assembly of plastic material, comprising a hollow pedestal having a plurality of discharge openings, a syphon element provided with a first tubulure extending into said pedestal mounted on said pedestal, an open end flush bowl mountedon said syphon and provided with a second tubulure extending into said syphon forwardly of the first tubulure and a rim element for circulating water secured peripherally of the bowls open end, said syphon element being formed with a double grooved molding adapted to receive the upper and lower edges of said pedestal and flush bowl, respectively.
2. As a new article of manufacture, a multi-piece .water closet assembly of plastic material, comprising a hollow pedestal having a pair of spaced tubulures extending downwardly from its bottom, and a laterally extending tubulure, all said tubulures being of equal cross-section, a syphon element provided with a first tubulure extending into said pedestal mounted on said pedestal, an open end flush bowl mounted on said syphon and provided with a second tubulure extending into said syphon forwardlyof the first tubulure and a rim element for circulating water secured peripherally of the bowls open end, said syphon element being formed with a double grooved molding adapted to receive the upper and lower edges of said pedestal and flush bowl, respectively.
3. As a new article of manufacture, a multi-piece water closet assembly of plastic material, comprising a hollow pedestal having a pair of spaced tubulures extending downwardly from its bottom, and a laterally extending tubulure, all said tubulures being of equal crosssection, said lateral tubulure being further provided with a connecting nipple adapted to be displaced in a desired direction, said nipple having an extension for connection to a ventilating pipe, a syphon element provided with a first tubulure extending into said pedestal mounted on said pedestal, an open end flush bowl mounted on said syphon and provided with a second tubulure extending into said syphon forwardly of the first tu bulure and a rim element for circulating water secured peripherally of the bowls open end, said syphon element being formed with a double grooved molding adapted to receive the upper and lower edges of said pedestal and flush bowl, respectively.
4. As a new article of manufacture, a multi-piece water closet assembly of plastic material, comprising a hollow pedestal having a pair of spaced tubulures extending downwardly from its bottom, and a laterally extending tubulure, all said tubulures being of equal cross-section, said lateral tubulure being further provided with a connecting nipple adapted to be displaced in a desired direction, said nipple having an extension for connection to a ventilating pipe, a syphon element provided with a first tubulure extending into said pedestal mounted on said pedestal, an open end flush bowl mounted on said syphon and provided with a second tubulure extending into said syphon forwardly of the first tubulure and a rim element for circulating water secured peripherally of the bowls open end, said syphon element being formed with a double grooved molding adapted to receive the upper and lower edges of said pedestal and flush bowl, respectively, and a supporting frame for said pedestal, provided with inwardly disposed guides for facilitating the guidance of the water closet assembly into alignment with a discharge pipe and means for securing said pedestal to said frame.
5. As a new article of manufacture, a multi-piece water closet assembly of plastic material, comprising a hollow pedestal having a plurality of discharge openings, a syphoning device provided with a first discharge tubulure extending into said pedestal, said syphoning device being mounted on said pedestal, an open end flush bowl terminating at its lower end with a second tubulure extending into said syphon-ing device and a rim element for circulating water, secured peripherally about the open end of said flush bowl.

AS A NEW ARTICLE OF MANUFACTURE, A MULTI-PIECE WATER CLOSET ASSEMBLY OF PLASTIC MATERIAL, COMPRISING A HOLLOW PEDESTAL HAVING A PLURALITY OF DISCHARGE OPENINGS, A SYPHONING DEVICE PROVIDED WITH A FIRST DISCHARGE TUBULURE EXTENDING INTO SAID PEDESTAL, SAID SYPHONING DEVICE BEING MOUNTED ON SAID PEDESTAL, AN OPEN END FLUSH BOWL TERMINATING AT ITS LOWER END WITH A SECOND TUBULURE EXTENDING INOT SAID SYPHONING DEVICE AND A RIM ELEMENT FOR CIRCULATING WATER, SECURED PERIPHERALLY ABOUT THE OPEN END OF SAID FLUSH BOWL.
