DRIVING CUFF AND WRISTLET.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 293,500, dated February 12, 1584.

To aZZ whom it may concern.- Be it known that I, BYRON EDWIN NORTH- RUP, of Broadalbin, Fulton county, and State of New York, have invented a new and use ful Improvement in Combined Driving Cuffs and Wristlets, of which the following is a full,

over the hand and glove by the wearer and receive within it the sleeve or sleeves, as indicated in Fig. 2. The cuff A is designed to be stiffened with some suitable material and to be lined with some suitable cloth.

To the lower edge of the cuff A is stitched the wristlet B, which may be made of kid or other suitable 1eather,'or a woven or knit fabric that has the requisite-flexibility.

To theinner surface of the wristlet Bis stitched one or more strips, C, of elastic webbing, to hold the outer part of the said wristlet closely around the glove-covered wrist of the wearer, and of sufficient length to allow the cuff and wristlet to be readily drawn on over the 'glovecovered hand of the wearer. A sufficient. space should be left between the edge of the cuff A to allow the said edge of the cuff to work down over the upper part of the wristlet, so that the hand of the wearer can have an easy and free movement. With this construction the combined cuff and wristlet can be worn over any glove, whether the said glove be heavy or light, or Whether the glove be made of leather or of awoven or knit fabric.

In using the improvement the gloves are first put on and the combined cuffs and wristlets are then drawn on over the gloves. The gloves and the combined cuffs and wristlets are drawn off together.

I am aware that a glove and gauntlet have their adjacent edges; but
