3 Claims. (Cl. 128-158) This invention relates to suspensories.

It is an object of the present invention to provide an improved suspensory which includes a wire supported pouch and which eliminates the understraps and elastic commonly found on conventional suspensories.

It is another object of the present invention to provide a suspensory of the above type which will hug the body and in a comfortable manner without constriction to any vital organ and which may be put on and taken off with a minimum of time and effort.

Other objects of the invention are to provide a suspensory bearing the above objects in mind which is of simple construction, has a minimum number of parts, is inexpensive to manufacture and efiicient in use.

For other objects and for a better understanding of the invention, reference may be had to the following detailed description taken in connection with the accompanying drawing, in which:

Figure 1 is a front elevational view of a preferred embodiment of the present invention;

Fig. 2 is a side elevational view thereof; and

Fig. 3 is a top plan view of the wire support.

Referring now more in detail to the drawing, represents a pouch adapted to support the scrotum sac and having the opening 11 for the penis, the opening 11 having the usual tape binding 12, substantially as illustrated.

A front piece 13 of substantially T-shape and of the same fabric as the pouch 10 is secured across the front upper edge of the latter by means of the stitching 14 and provides the extensions 15 at opposite ends which are wider than and which may be connected in a suitable manner to the waist encircling belt, not shown.

A wire support 16 of semi-elliptical shape and top plan (Fig. 3) is provided at its free ends with the straight vertical portions 17 which terminate at their upper ends in the inwardly bent ends 18, the semi-elliptical portion of the wire curving downwardly and rearwardly from the straight portions 17, as shown in Fig. 2.

The forwardly bent end portions 18 are in turn integrally formed at right angles thereto with the inwardly bent portions 19.

The upper edge of the pouch 10 is correspondingly shaped and is formed with the tape binding 20 which forms a tunnel receiving therewithin the semi-elliptical portion of the wire 16 whereby to support the sac. Similar material is provided on the inner face of the front 2,798,484 Patented July 9, 1957 ICC piece 13 and forms a tunnel receiving therewithin the portion 17, 18 of the wire. Thus, the upper end of the wire support is connected to the front piece 13 which is in turn supported by means of the usual straps at the end portions 15 thereof.

The wire support supports the pouch 10 in a manner similar to a womans strapless brassiere that is wired under the bust. By using this wire support to support the pouch, the understraps and elastic usually associated with conventional suspensories are eliminated. The suspensory with the wire supported pouch will hug the body without constriction to any vital organ. It is easy to put on and take off due to the elimination of the reaching and fastening of understraps. Only one adjustment is necessary at the waist. The shape of the pouch thus supported automatically fits correctly the scrotum sac. The suspensory is much cooler and by the eliminating of the understraps or elastic at the upper edges of the pouch will eliminate chafing. The wired pouch will not move on the body when sitting or during strenuous exercise.

While various changes may be made in the detail construction, it shall be understood that such changes shall be within the spirit and scope of the present invention as defined by the appended claims.

What I claim as new and desire to protect by Letters Patent of the United States is:

1. A suspensory comprising a pouch adapted to support the scrotum sac, said pouch at the front top portion having an opening therethrough, a unitary wire support having a semi-elliptical portion, said semi-elliptical portion curving downwardly and rearwardly away from said opening, said wire support at the free ends being integrally formed with straight vertical portions extending upwardly above the top of the pouch, the upper edge of said pouch being correspondingly shaped and having a tunnel construction receiving therewithin said semi-elliptical portion, and a front piece secured to the upper edge of said pouch and having laterally extending portions adapted to be connected to a supporting strap encircling the waist, the upper portions of said wire being secured to said front piece.

2. A suspensory according to claim 1, the upper ends of the straight portions of said wire support being bent inwardly and forwardly, and stitching securing the vertical and forwardly and inwardly bent portions to said front piece.

3. A suspensory according to claim 2, said front piece being substantially T-shaped having its central lower edge secured to the top of said pouch and the laterally extending portion secured to the supporting straps, said laterally extending portions being of greater width than the supporting straps.
