2 Claims.
My present invention relates to an improved concrete form and more especially to a form comprising separable and adjustable sections whereby the sections may be used many times and may be so assembled as to provide molds as for walls of varying shape, width and height.
In the accompanying drawings I have illustrated one complete example of the physical embodiment of my invention according to the best mode I have thus far devised, but it will be understood that various changes and alterations may be made in the exemplified structure within the scope of the appended claims.
In the drawings:
Fig. 1 is a perspective view shown in the corner type construction.
Fig. 2 is a sectional view taken on line 22 of Fig. 1, and
Fig. 3 is a plan view of the mold or form as assembled for a corner.
Referring now to the drawings wherein like characters indicate like parts, I have illustrated the present preferred embodiment of my invention as comprising mold sections including a panel preferably of plywood or other suitable material 2 to which is secured at the ends, angle iron frames 4 having series of aligned openings 6. The flanges 8 of the angles are secured by rivets l to the panels and in assembly the angular flanges l2 are abutted and secured by bolts [4 and Wing nuts I 6.
The angle irons 4 extend below the bottoms of the panels and in use pass through plates I8 into the ground. The base plates may be secured by driving therethrough into the ground bars 20.
The upper edges of the panels 2 and frames 4 are secured with relation to each other by ties 22 formed with series of openings 24 so that the width of the form may be varied. When used to form a corner, the panel sections are secured by a strap 26.
From the above description it will be apparent that panels of various sizes may be employed to meet the requirements of the individual circumstances and that many sizes and shapes in forms may be created, which forms are simple in assembly and which may be repeatedly used and disassembled for future use.
Having thus fullyv described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. A concrete form comprising panel sections, angle frames aligned with the vertical edge of the sections and having angular abutting flanges, extensions on the flanges above and below the horizontal panel edges, means securing the frames to the panels, base plates fixed to the ground and having slots to receive the lower extensions of the frames, and adjustable cross ties on the upper extensions of the frames.
2. A concrete form comprising angularly disposed panel sections, angle frames aligned with 50 the vertical edges of the sections and having angular abutting flanges, extensions on the flanges above and below the horizontal panel edges, means securing the frames to the panels, base plates fixed to the ground and having longi- 25 tudinally extending, spaced slots to receive the lower extensions of the frames, adjustable cross ties for the upper extensions of parallel sections, and ties formed in a compound curve for the extensions located at the form corners.
DAN GEORGE YOUNGMAN.
