invention relates, to a baby bath and powder board for removable mounting "on the rim of a bathtub.

An object of this invention is to provide a board or flat surface for mounting on the rim of a bathtub, the board having a collapsible support for holding powder or other accessories necessary to a baby bath.

Another object of this invention is to provide a board having means for supporting the same across the top of a tub, the board having a collapsible support along one edge thereof for holding powder or other accessories, and the support including an elastic band for firmly holding the articles on the support.

A further object of this invention is to provide a device of this kind which is simple in construction, light in weight, and when collapsed will occupy a small space.

With the above and other objects in View, my invention consists in the arrangement, combination and details of construction disclosed in the drawings and specification, and then more particularly pointed out in the appended claims.

Referring to the drawings, the numeral Ill designates generally a flat substantially rectangular board or plate which is adapted to be mounted on and supported above the rim H of a bathtub. The board ID has secured to the lower side thereof a pair of elongated end bars i2 which are cut out as indicated at l3, for engagement over the rim ll of the tub so that the end bars l2 will be held against endwise movement with respect to the rim of the tub.

A transversely extending bracing bar I4 is connected between the end bars I2 and engages under the lower side of the plate or board In to support and prevent warping or the like, of this board.

An article supporting member generally designated as I5 is swingably carried at the rear end of the board IB and includes a pair of end bars l6 which are mounted on bolts l1 extending through-therear portions of the sidebars- -12.

The side members [6 engage on the inner sides of the end members l2, and the board I0 is cut out at its opposite rear corners, as indicated at I9, so that the small portion of the board It! will be disposed beneath the supporting member IS. The supporting member l5 has secured to the forward edges of the bars I6 a plate or board 20, and a shelf strip 2| is secured to the board 20 at a point between the upper and lower edges thereof.

The shelf 2| is formed of an elongated narrow strip which is provided at its upper side with a longitudinal groove or channel 22. An elongated flexible and relatively elastic band or strip 23 is secured at the opposite ends thereof to a pair of end blocks 24 which are secured to the forward side of the board 20 above the bottom or shelf member 2|. The flexible member 23 is secured as at 25 to the forward side of the board 20 at a point medially between the ends of this board, as shown in Figure 2.

In the use and operation of this device, the cut-outs I3 in the opposite ends, and the lower edges of the end members I 2 are spaced apart a distance suificient to provide for extension of a portion of the end members l2 inside the rim ll of the tub so that while the device may be shifted lengthwise of the tub, the device cannot be moved laterally or crosswise with respect to the tub.

The article supporting member l5 when in operative position is disposed in vertical upwardly extending position as shown in Figure 3. The various articles forming accessories to the bath and other operations may be placed on the supporting member l5 inside the elastic band I3.

When the supporting member is collapsed, the wing nuts I8 are loosened and this device is then swung downwardly and inwardly so as to engage beneath the board Ill and between the end members [2. This device will, when in collapsed position, occupy only a relatively small space and when in applied position will provide a firm foundation which can be mounted on the rim of the tub.

I do not mean to confine myself to the exact details of construction herein disclosed, but claim all variations falling within the purview of the appended claims.

WhatIclaimis:

1. A bath and powder board for removable mounting on the rim of a bath tub comprising a rectangular plate, a pair of bars secured to the under side of said plate and projecting beyond the front and rear edges, said bars being formed with cut-outs in the lower edges thereof adjacent each end for receiving the rim of the bathtub, an articlesupporting rack, and means swingably supporting said rack for movement from a collapsed position beneath said plate to an upright operative position extending above said plate.

2. A bath and powder board for removable mounting on the rim of a bathtub comprising a rectangular plate, a pair of bars secured to the under side of said plate and projecting beyond the front and rear edges, said bars being formed with cut-outs in the lower edges thereof adjacent each end for receiving the rim of the bathtub, an article supporting rack swingably carried by the rear portions of said bars, said rack including an elongated board, a pair of bars fixed to the opposite ends of said board, means pivotally securing said latter bars to said first named bars, end members secured to the forward side of said board, a bottom forming strip secured between said end members, an elastic strap fixed between said end members, and means securing the medial portion of said strap to said board.
