This invention relates to an adjustable mirror or other panel and more particularly to such a member positioned on the front of a bathroom medicine cabinet, or the like.

A primary object of this invention is the provision of such a member positioned on an en- -closure having a hinged door, as for example, a bathroom medicine cabinet, provided with means whereby the relative height of the mirror may be varied to accommodate a variety of purposes, such as use by a small child, or adults of varying height.

An additional object of the invention is the provision of such a device Which may be readily and simply moved with a minimum of effort and diniculty to any desired height.

A further object is the provision of such a device which may be readily adapted for use with any conventional medicine cabinet having a flanged door.

Still other objects reside in the combinations of elements, arrangements of parts, and features of construction, all as will be more fully pointed out hereinafter, and shown in the accompanying drawings, wherein there is disclosed a preferred embodiment of this inventive concept.

Figure 1 is a front elevational view of the adjustable mirror of the invention as applied to a cabinet, an alternative position of adjustment being indicated in dotted lines.

Figure 2 is a side elevational view of the construction shown in Figure 1, an alternative position of adjustment being indicated in dotted lines.

Figure 3 is a top plan view of the structure shown in Figures 1 and 2.

Figure 4 is an enlarged fragmentary sectional View taken substantially along the line 4-4 of Figure 1, as viewed in the direction indicated by the arrows.

Similar reference characters refer to similar parts throughout the several views of the drawings.

Referring now to the drawings, there is generally indicated at I a medicine cabient of any desired conventional type, having hingedly secured to the front thereof, as by means of hinges Il, a door I2, having outer edges I3, extending a substantial distance beyond the edges of the cabinet It).

The adjustable mirror of the instant invention comprises a mirror i4, provided about its edges with a molding I5, which molding is provided with flanges I5 on the sides thereof, which in turn have additional flanges Il at right angles thereto, the flanges I6 and Il forming channels adapted 2 to surround the extending edges I3 of the door I2. Thus, it will be seen that the mirror I4 is slidable vertically with respect to the door I2.

Means are provided for securing the mirror in adjusted position, and take the form of spring clips members generally indicated at I8, and each including a resilient leaf spring I9 secured, as by a screw 2li, to the flange I'I. The spring members I9 are outwardly flared at their end portions, as at 2l, and provided with an extending pin or tooth 22 which passes through an aperture 23 in the flange I'I, into a selected one of a plurality of aligned holes 25 in the door I2. An extending finger portion 26 is provided on the spring memb-er I9 and the arrangement is such that pressure on the member 2G serves to lift the nger 22 out of its associated aperture 25 permitting sliding movement of the mirror with respect to the door.

Obviously, any desired number of apertures 25 may be provided in substantially horizontal alignment on opposite sides and vertically aligned on the flange I3, in such manner that the mirror may be adjusted vertically to any one of a plurality of desired positions.

Now, from the foregoing, it will be seen that there is herein provided a device which accomplishes all the objects of this invention, and others, including many advantages of great practical utility and commercial importance.

As many embodiments may be made of this inventive concept, and as many modifications may be made in the embodiment hereinbefore shown and described, it is to be understood that all matter herein is to be interpreted merely as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.

I claim:

A cabinet, a front door hinged to the cabinet and having marginal vertical edges projecting beyond the cabinet, one vertical marginal edge of the door having longitudinally spaced open-l 'at its free end with a lock tooth entering the transverse opening of the inner channel side and adapted to enter a selected opening in the door, and a lever attached to the leaf spring near its free end and extending longitudinally toward the attached end of the leaf spring and spaced from such attached end, the arrangement being such -Aw-hm,...
