1 claim. l
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in dog boots or galoshes.
An object of the invention is to provide a dog boot or galosh which may be made of synthetic or natural rubber, thermo-plastic, canvas or other materials, that would stretch or contract.
Made of a pliable material, the boots could be slipped oi or on a dogs foot to keep his feet clean under adverse weather conditions, to prevent soiling of the house upon the entering thereof or to prevent ice and snow from cutting the pads of the Idogs feet.
The boot, at the top is pliable enough to slip off his foot yet will snugly fit his legs to prevent dislodgement thereof and being provided with a heavy roughened sole, will prevent slipping of the dogs feet and damage thereto.
Another object of the invention is to provide a dog boot which is simple in construction, is durable in use and may be manufactured and sold at a. reasonable cost.
With the above and other objects and advantages in view, the invention consists of the novel details of construction, arrangement and combination of parts more fully hereinafter described, claimed and illustrated in the accompanying ldrawing in which:
Figure l is a perspective View of an embodiment of the invention and Figure 2 is a vertical sectional view thereof,
Referring more in detail to the drawing, the dog boot or galosh l comprises a flexible sheet of material l2 which may be of any of the materials previously mentioned, which is formed in the manner shown to conform to a dogs foot and secured together along the line I4 by stitching, adhesive or any other suitable means.
A second sheet of similar material I6 is secured over the foot portion I8 of the boot, and termi-y nates at a `point 20 remote from the upper edge 22 of the leg portion 24, and the sheet I8 is joined along the lines 26 inwardly and outwardly of each other to form a weather-proof seam.
A heavy roughened sole portion 28 is then secured to the bottom of the foot portion in any suitable manner.
There has thus been provided, a boot having a single leg portion for receiving means for securing the boot to the dogs leg, a double lower portion for service and a triple sole portion for wear, and to prevent slipping of the dog when wearing the boot.
The boot can be easily slipped on or off the dogs feet, and will protect the dogs feet during the wearing thereof.
It is believed that fromthe foregoing description, the use and construction of the invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art, and it is to be understood that changes in the details of construction, arrangement and combination of parts may be resorted to, provided they fall within the spirit of the invention and the scope of the appended claim. Y
Having thus ldescribed the invention, what is claimed as new and desired to be secured by Letters Patent is:
A device of the character described, comprising a flexible sheet of material bent to conform to the shape of a `dogs foot, fastening means securing meeting edges of the flexible sheet in bent shape, a second sheet of material secured to the first sheet and bent to conform to the shape of said rst sheet fastening means securing its meeting edges together, and a heavy sole portion secured to said second sheet at the ground engaging portion thereof.
