My invention relates to improvements in billfolds and has for its principal object, to provide a simple, convenient ,and inexpensive billfold wherein the several parts which form the completeA structure, are` held in assembled relation by conventional Isnap fasteners, thus eliminating the time, labor and expense involved, where the parts, in manufacture, are united by stitching, adhesives,.staples and the like.
A further object of my invention is, to provide a billfold composedof three main parts shaped, lassembled andl folded so as to provide a plurality of pockets open at their tops, for the reception of paper currency, checks andthe like and other pockets open rat both ends for the reception of cards, passes, identification certificates, drivers licenses and the like and which open ended pockets are vnormally closed by readily releasible flaps formed integral vwith theends of certain ofthe wall forming members.
With the foregoing and othenobjects in view, my invention consists in certain novel features of construction.andarrangement ofparts which will be hereinafter more fully described and claimed and illustrated in the accompanying drawings in which:

Figi-8 is a plan View cfa partition forming member which is located-between the main body and the open ended pocket forming members.
Referring by numerals tothe accompanying drawings, .which illustrate a preferred embodiment Aof my invention, if! designates the outer wall of the billfold, which wall is rectangular in shape and integral with the upper edge of said outer wall is a substantially rectangular wall li, foldable on dotted line a so as to overlie the front face of outer wall lll.
Integral with the ends of wall Il) are end aps i2 and I3 foldable on thepdotted lines'b. And integral with the `lower edge of said wall l0 between its center and ends, and foldable on the dotted lines c, are flaps 4 and I5. 'A small 11einforcing flap it is formed on the lower edge of wall lil, between iiaps it and t5 and when folded upward on the line d, reinforces the lower central portion of Wall 1E. (See Fig. 1.) Secured in the outer endlportion of flap l2 is the socket member 20. of a conventional snap fastener and formed in flap I3 is an aperture l' for the reception of the shank portion of the stud member of said fastener. Formed inap M are apertures l8for the reception Yof stud Shanks and flap l5 is provided with a stud shank receiving aperture I9. Walls lli andlland flaps l2, i3, ill and I5 are formed from a simple piece of thinflexible material preferably leather. The pocket forming member which ismounted on the inner Vside of the left hand portionof wall lil, comprises a one piece L shaped member 2D (see Fig. 6) foldable on the horizontal line j and vertical line g to form three walls.2l, 22 and 23 `approximately the same in size and shape.
Wall 2l is formed integral with one of the longitudinal edges of wall 22 and wall 23 is formed integral with one of the ends of said wall 22.
Formed integral with the outer longitudinal edge of wall 2l near one end is a flap 24 foldable on dotted line h and said iiap having a stud receiving aperture 25.
Formed integral with thefree end of- Wall 23 is a ap 26 foldable on the dotted line i and seated in the outer portion thereof is the socket member 2l of a snap fastener.
Formed in wall 23 below and to one side of the center thereof is a stud receiving aperture 28 and similar apertures 29 are formed in wall 22 below and on opposite sides of the center thereof.
The pocket forming member which is mounted on the inner side of theright hand portion of Wall iii, comprises a one piece L-shaped memberg (see Fig. 7) f'oldable on the horizontal line Rand Vertical line Z to form three rectangular :walls 3l, '32 and 33 approximately equal in size .and shape.
Projecting from the free longitudinal edge -of wall 3l is a small tab 3@ foldable on line 7' and said tab has a stud receiving aperture 35. Formed integral with the free end cf wall 33 is a flap 36, foldable on line lc and seated in the outer portion of said flap is a socket 3l. lower central portions of walls 32 and 33, in lon- Formed in the 3 gitudinal alignment with socket 31, are respectively, stud receiving apertures 38 and 39. Fig. 8 shows a plan View of a rectangular insert 40, which when the billfold is assembled for use is positioned between the rear walls 2| and 3| of the open ended pocket forming members 28 and 30 The three main parts of my improved billfold, viz, the body member I3, Il and aps thereon, also the members 2li and 38 are all formed from thin, flexible material, preferably leather.
When the parts of the billfold are assembled, lining wall II is folded along line a so as to overlie the inner face of wall I8, thus forming a secret pocket, open at its bottom and at both ends, between said walls IIJ and II. With wall 22 disposed above the left hand portions of walls I and II and with wall 23 to the left of wall 22, wall 2I is now placed on the exposed face of the left hand portion of wall II, with tab 24 extending downwardly and wall 23 extending to the left and after wall 23 has been folded on line g, over onto wall 22, the two walls 23 and 22 are folded downward on line f so that wall 23 is positioned between said walls 2i and 22, and thus a pocket open at its inner end, is formed between said last mentioned walls and with a pocket open at its outer end between wall 2! and the left hand portion of insert 28. Tab 24 is now folded on line h upward to overlie the outer face of wall 22 after which, flap Ill is folded on line c upward so as to overlie tab 2li and the lower portion of wall 22 and the shanks of snap fastener studs are now seated in the left hand one of the apertures 28 through aperture 25 in tab 24 and through the left hand one of the apertures I8 in nap i4. The shank of a stud 2l is also seated in the right hand one of the apertures 28 also the right hand one of the apertures I8 with the studs of said shanks projecting from the face of flap I4.
Flaps I2 and 2 are now folded over onto flap id, with sockets I2@ and 21 engaged on the studs, thus closing the ends of the pockets between walls 22 and 23 also between walls 2i, 23 and the left hand end of insert d8.
Flap I2 also closes the left hand ends of the pockets between walls II) and il, alsobetween Walls II and 2l and between the left hand end of insert i8 and corresponding ends of walls 2i and 23.
When member 38 is applied to the body of the billfold, wall 3| is laid on the right hand portion of lining wall II with tab 34 extending downward with wall 23 disposed above the right hand end of walls I0 and II and wall 23 to the right of said wall 32 and after wall 33 is folded on line Z over onto wall 32, the two last mentioned walls are folded downward on line lc with wall i8 lying against wall 3i and tab 3K3 is now folded on line y upward onto wall 32.
Flap I5 is now folded on line c onto the lower portion of wall 32, after which Iiap I3 is folded on line b over onto the right hand end of folded member Sii and flap I5.
The shank of a stud is now seated in coinciding apertures 39, 38, 35, I 9 and Il thereby securing member 33 in folded condition, to the body of the billfold and flap 38 may now be folded on line lc onto the left hand portion of said member 30 with socket 31 engaging the stud on the front face of flap I3.
Thus members 28 and 30 which when folded, provide a number of pockets are secured to the bilateral portions of the billfold body and combine therewith, to form a Very compact and convenient stitchless receptacle and carrier for paper currency, checks, cards, passes and the like.
It will be understood that minor changes in the size, form and construction of the various parts of my improved billfold may be made and substituted for those herein shown and described without departing from the spirit of my invention, the scope of which is set forth in the appended claims.
I claim as my invention:
1. In a billfold, the combination with a one piece body comprising an outer wall, an inner wall depending from the upper edge of Said outer wall, flaps on the ends of said outer wall and spaced aps on the lower edge of said outer wall, of a one piece L-shaped ileXible member secured to and overlying the left hand portion of said body member and foldable to form three walls of equal size and shape with the spaces between said walls open at both ends, the ap on the left hand end of said outer wall foldable to close the outer ends of said spaces, a flap on the right end of the inner one of said three walls for closing the inner ends of the spaces between said three walls and means for detachably securing the flap on the left hand end of said outer wall and the ap on the inner one of said three walls to one of the flaps on the lower kedge of said outer wall.
2. In a billfold, the combination as set forth in claim 1 with a one piece L-shaped member secured to and overlying the right hand portion of said body member and foldable to form three walls of equal size and shape, with the spaces between said walls open at both ends, the flap on the right end of said outer wall foldable to close the outer ends of said last mentioned spaces, a flap on the end of the inner one of said last mentioned three walls for closing the inner ends of the spaces between said walls and means for detachably securing the flap on the right hand end of said outer wall and the flap on the inner wall of said last mentioned three walls to one of the flaps on the lower edge of said outer wall.
