` GARMENT HANGER Filed Aug. 13, 1942 v INVENTOR. Jamas (So/7e Patented Jan.j 30, 1945 This invention` relates'. to improvementsingarment hangers. The main objects of. this invention. are.:
First, to provideA a-garment-hanger which-fm'ay be formed entirely ofA fibrous material', mainly of..
multi-ply paper tubing which is very strongand rigid and attractive inappearance.
Second, to provide a 'garment hanger having, these advantages which may be very economically lproduced.
Objects relatingto detailsand economiesof thev invention will appear lfrom theA description yto follow. The invention Ais denedandpointed outH inthe claims. I
Preferred vembodiments ofjthe invention are.l illustrated in the accompanying drawing," in which: f

The embodiment of my invention illustrated'j in Figs. 1 to 3 inclusive comprisesa pair of. downwardly` diverging tubularI arms l formed` of.' `fibrous material, preferably multi-ply p'aperf stockasisshown inlFig. p3.'
Thesuspendin'ghook 2 is formed of fibrous material preferably multi-plystock as shown in Fig. 3. This suspending hook or member 2 is providedy with downwardly diverging dowels 3 which are telescoped into vthe upper ends of the arms, the
upper ends of the arms being collapsed or attened at 4 as shown in Fig. 3 to closely embrace the sides of the dowels, these telescoping parts being secured together by adhesive indicated at'5.
The suspending member is shouldered at 6 at the base of the dowels, the ends of the arms abutting this shoulder. These shoulders facilitate assembling and also add to the appearance.
The tubular strut 'l is also of brous material,
preferably of multi-ply paper, and is secured to,
the lower ends of the yoke arms I by means of the coupling members 8. These coupling memthe arms andjofthe strut abut,l and. preferably have curved or; roundedv outer 'edges I2 which merge' into., thev upper and lower sides' respecl' tively of theyoke arms andthe strut. providingeffective rounded shoulders for the hanger and also addingto ythe appearance. 4 j l the embodiment -shown' inFig. 4', the suspending member I9 has an feyje linstead of a hook.

My improved garment hanger is preferably f; formed entirely of fibrous; material'although cer'- ina structure suchl as shown'in Fig. 5.
I have illustrated anddescribedfmy improvements in 'highly satisfactory;y embodiments; I
tain' features Lol my'i'nvention may be embodiedY l have .not attempted toiillustrate or describe cer'- tain` otherjembodimentswhich I contemplate as' itv isgbelieve'dY that. this disclosure'wi'll enable' those f skilled thefe art to which my invention relates to' embodyjoradapt ,thesame as, may be' desired.
Having thus described my invention,` whatv I claim as new ,and desire to secure byv Letters Patent, is: u y e 1.
