The mold illustrated in the "accompanying drawing is of generally rectangular section and comprises two complementary'wall members designated-generally by numerals I and 2 "(see Fig. 2) and each comprising longitudinal bars 3 formed of wire stockand-angled cross'pieces also formed of wire stock. The angled cross pieces *4 of the wall I terminate atone-end "in eyes *fipivotally embracing longitudinal wall member '2. The angled cross members *'B-of'the wa'll member 2 are formed in pairs of single pieces of stock being joined at their swingingends which terminate in outwardlybent portions integrallyconnected to cross bars -I which'cons'titute keepers. Corresponding cross pieces '4 of the other wall member I are spaced somewhat more closely-as shown in Fig. 1 and adjacent =pairs-of these cross members terminate .in loops which opennutwardly and rearwardly, the *outer and rearward portions of the loops being integrally connected to cross bars 9 constituting pivota'thepivots being in a plane rea'rwardly of the plane-of the keepers when the walls are in'closed positionas viewed in Fig. 1.
The latch of my invention-comprises a 'plurality of pairs'o'f hookuelements lllhaving eyes H engaging :the pivots9, the hooks 12 f thesehook elements are engageable over thekeepers l'with a 'camming draw action. The "hookelements "are extended into farm's 3 joining the bills of the hook with a reversed curve l4 which provides :a rounded or curved surface readily slidabl'e -over the keepers. these arms being connected by the cross pieces [6 which constitute a hand piece "forthe latch. With the loops 8 projecting outwardly :and then for a substantial distance rear-wardly, to resiliently support the latch pivots 9 and with the inner portions of the loop-18 having a positive retainin'gtengagementw-iththe keepers- ],as shown .in .Fig. .3, the hook elements l0, latch pivots 9 and keepers I all =co'act to provide springable camming locking engagement so that the".w'all members are not only effectively "drawn or clamped onthe mold contents, :but it is :practically impossible for the latching means "to become accidentally disengaged. It is =t0'r be -.un-
derstood that the mold commonly receives the contents under compression and it is desirableto have .means for securing the vmold parts which can be readily closed under such conditions-and at the same time .open quite easily. The handle portion IB is preferably outwardly offset somewhat as shownin Fig. .2 for convenience in grasping. A hanger I1 is provided-at one end of .the mold. This however is old intheart.

I have not attempted to illustrate or describe other embodiments which I contemplate as it is'be'lieved that this disclosure-will enable those skilled in the-art to embody or adapt the same as may be-desired.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim asnew and desire to *secure by Letters "Pa'tent is:
i. 'In a meat mold, the combination of a' pair of pivotally connected wall'members and closure means for said wall memberasaid closure means.
including cross pieces'arranged in pairs and disposed crosswise each wall member, the cross pieces of the pairs on one wall member having their outer swinging ends integrally connected to cross bars outwardly oifsetfrom' saidvrall "and constituting keepers,'the cross pieces of the pairs on the otherwall member "terminating at their outer'swinging ends in loops extending outwardlyand then for a=substantial distance rearward- 13 pairs of said loops having their outwardly and rearwardly extending portions "integrally connected to cross b arsconstituting latch pivots disposed rearwardly of the keepers when the walls are in closed position, and a latch comprising a plurality of pairs of hook elements pivotally mounted on said pivots, said hook elements having arm portionsextending beyond their hooks and merging therein with reversed curves disposed to provide keeper receiving recesses facing said latch pivots, a bar connecting thearm portions of said. hook elements, certainof said hook element arms being extended beyond said bar and joined by a cross piece constituting a hand piece, said hook elements being swingably engageable over said keepers and conformed to en-v gage them with a camming draw action, said latch pivots, keepers and hook elements coacting to provide springable camming lockin'g'en gagement, the inner portions of said loops having positive retaining engagement with said keepers,
extending beyond their books, a bar connecting the arm portions of said hook elements, certain of said hook element arms being extended beyond said bar and joined by a cross piece constituting a hand piece, said hook elements having camming engagement with said keepers, the inner portions of said loops having positive retaining engagement with said keepers when the hook elements are' springably engaged over said keepers for locking engagement therewith.

In a meat mold, the combination of a pair of pivotally connected wall members and closure means for said wall members, said closure means including cross pieces arranged in pairs and disposed crosswise each wall member, the cross pieces of the pairs on one wall member having when the hook elements are springably engaged over said keepers for locking engagement there- 2. 3., In a meat mold, the combination ofa pair of pivotally connected wall members and closure means for said wall members, said closure means including cross pieces arranged in pairs and disposed crosswise each wall .member,-;the. cross pieces of the pairs on one wall member;havingtheir outer swinging ends: integrally connected to cross bars outwardly offset from said wall and constituting keepers, the cross pieces of the pairs on the other wall member terminating at their outer swinging ends in loops extending outward-- ly and then for-asubstantial distance rearward- 19, pairs of said loops having their outwardly and rearwardly extending portions integrally connected to crossbars constituting latch pivots disposed rearwardly of the keepers when the walls are in closed position, and a latch comprising a plurality ofpairs of hook elements pivotally mounted on said pivots, said hook elements having keeper receiving recesses facing said latch pivots, said hook elements having arm portions their outer swinging ends integrally connected to ,cross bars outwardly offset from said wall and ly and then fora substantial distance rearwardly, pairs of said loops having their outward- ,ly and rearwardly extending portions integrally connected to cross bars constituting latch pivots disposed rearwardly of the keepers when the wallsare in closed position, and a latch coinprisingconnected hook elements pivotally mounted on saidpivots, said hook elements having keepertreceiving recesses facing said latch pivots, said hook elementshaving arm portions extending beyond their hooks, said hook elements having camming engagement with said keepers, the inner portions of said loops having positive retaining engagement with saidkeepers when the hook elements are springably engaged over said keepers for locking engagement therewith.

In a meat mold, the combination of pivotally connected wall members, one wall member having keepers outwardly offset and spaced from said wall member, and the other wall member having loops extending outwardly and then for a substantial distance rearwardly, pairs of said loops having their outwardly and rearwardly extending portions connectedby cross bars constituting latch pivots disposed rearwardly of the keepers when the walls are in closed position, and a latch comprising a plurality of pairs of hook elements pivotally mounted on said pivots, said hook elements having arm portions extending beyond their hooks and merging therein with reversed curves disposed to provide keeper receiving recessesfacing said latch pivots, a bar connecting the arm portions of said hook elements, certain of said hook element arms being extended beyond said bar and joined by a cross piece constituting a hand piece, said hook elements being swingably engageable over said keepers and conformed to engage them with a camming draw action, said latch pivots, keepers and hook elements coacting to provide springable camming locking engagement, the inner portions. of said loops having "positive retaining engagement with said keepers, when the hook elements are springably engaged-over said keepers for locking engagement therewith.
6. In a meat mold; the combination of pivotally connected wall. members, one wall member having keepers outwardly offset and spaced from keepers when the wallsfare in closed position, and
a latch comprising connected hook elements pivotally mounted on said pivots, said hook elements having arm portions extending beyond their hooks and merging therein with reversed curves disposed to provide keeper receiving recesses 5 facing said latch pivots, a bar connecting the arm portions of said hook elements, said hook elements being swingably engageable over said keepers and conformed to engage them with a camming draw action, said latch pivots, keepers and hook elements coacting to provide springable camming locking engagement, the inner portions of said loops having positive retaining engagement with said keepers, when the hook elements are springably engaged over said keepers for locking engagement therewith.
