An object of this inventionis to provide a smokers package adapted to contain asmall supply of tobacco and pipe cleaners, the arrangement being such that the package may be refilledwith tobacco and pipe cleaners so that the person using the package may carry aday's supply cornpactly in the pocket, thus eliminating the necessity of carrying large packages of tobacco'and pipe cleaners such as are-sold-instores.

Another object of thepresent invention is to provide a container of the character described comprising an outer tube and an inner tube provide with a spout, and means forejecting the inner tubeso that tobacco may be'easily' poured therefrom into a pipe.

Still a further object of this invention is to provide a container adapted to carry a'supply of tobacco or cigarettes, and means to facilitate removal of the tobacco or cigarettes from the package. H

An object of this invention is to provide, a smokers package of the character described, comprising a container for tobacco, and a spout of flexible, normally stiff sheet materiahattached to the container at one end, andbeing flexed over the mouth of -the container'with the free end of the spout engaging the container to hold the spout in position covering the mouth or open end of the container, means being provided to release the free end of the spout to permit said spout to snap into normal, straight condition, whereby said spout can be used to facilitate pouring of tobacco from the container.

Yet a further object of this invention is to provide a compact, neat and durable package of the character described which shall be relatively easy to manipulate and yet practical and efiicient to a high degree in use.

Other objects of this invention will in part be obvious and in part hereinafter pointed'out.

The invention accordingly consists in the features of construction, combinations of elements, and arrangement of parts which will be exemplified in the construction hereinafter'described, and of which the scope'of application will'be indicated in the following claims.

Referring now in detail to the drawings, and particularly to Figs. 1, 2, 3, and 4 thereof, I0 designates a smokers package embodying the-invention. The same comprises an outer tube ll having a bottom wall l2 and a cylindrical wall l3. The tube ll may be made of card board, plastic material, metal or any other substance. It is preferably open at the top. It is formed with a longitudinal slot I4 terminating short of the ends of the tube. The tube Il may be covered by a wrapper I5 of paper or any other suitable material.

Telescoped within the tube I I is an inner tube or container l6 made of card board, paper or any other suitable material preferably softer than the material of the outer tube. The inner tube l6 may also be open at the top and may contain loose tobacco ll. It is preferably closed at the bottom and extends substantially the length of the outer tube. Frictionally receiving the lower end of tube I6 is a cup shaped member 20 having a handle or tab portion 2l extending through the wall M. The handle 2| may be used to move the inner tube i6 upwardly out of the outer tube H. p

Attached to the open end of inner tube I6 is a pouring spout 23 made of celluloid 'or the like material which'can' 'befiexed but which will of the structure shown a cup shaped cover 30. When it isdesired to use some of the tobacco from; the'package 10, the cover is first slipped off, and the handle 2| grasped and moved upwardly. When this is done the upper end of the inner tube-l6 moves with the spout 23 to free the end 24 thereof, and as soon as that is done the spout will spring out into the straight or stiff shape shown in Figs. 3 and 4. The package can thus be tilted and the spout inserted into a pipe to facilitate pouring tobacco into the pipe from the inner container without loss of tobacco.

It will be noted that the length of the package I is greater than the length of usual pipe cleaners. Attached to the tube I i, and extending longitudinally thereof, is a secondary compartment 32 closed at its lower end 33 and adapted to contain several pipe cleaners 34. It will now be understood that the package H] can be easily carried in the pocket and refilled from a can of tobacco each day. The inner tube l6 being frictionally fitted within the cup shaped member 2llmay be removed therefrom to facilitate refilling In Fig. 5 there is shown a smokers package ma embodying the invention similar to the package H] with the exception that the inner container |6a is divided by perforations 45 into sections. Within the inner tube [6a are a plurality of individual pipe refills 41, each containing enough tobacco to refill a pipe.

When the inner tube l5a is ejected one of the refills 4! may be broken ofi at the perforation .45, and the contents thereof inserted into the pipe.

Furthermore, spout 23a is attached to the outer tube instead of the inner tube. When the inner tube is ejected somewhat the spout is freed.

In Figs. 6, '7 and 8 there is shown a smokers package IOb containing cigarettes 50. The package Hib comprises a flattened tube 5| open at bothends. Within tube 5! are a pair of similarly disposed cases 52 open at their outer ends and closed at their. inner ends. Each case 52 is adapted to contain 5 cigarettes. The cigarettes extend beyond the open ends of the cases 52. Between the cases 52 is a sliding block 53. The sides of tube 5! are formed with slots 55, and attached to opposite ends of block 53 are pins or ears 56 passing through the slots 55 and formed with heads 51. Upon engaging the heads 51 the block 53 maybe pushed up or down to eject one or the otherof the cases 52. The opposite ends of tube 5| are opened but may be closed by frictlonally fitted covers 60. The tube 5| is long enough to contain both cases 52 and the cigarettes, therein. It will be noted that the cigarettesproject from the case 52 so that when one of the cases is ejected upwardly the exposed ends of the cigarettes may be grasped to facilitate removal of the cigarettes. Obviously the cases 52 may be refilled when desired.

In Figs. 9. 10 and 11 there is showna smokers package Iflc embodying the invention and illustrating yet another modified construction. The package We comprises an outer tube 10 of relatively stiff material, closed at its bottom end and open at its upper end. Telescoped within the outer tube 10 is an inner tube H of softer material which may be filled with loose tobacco or with individual pipe inserts or refills. Attached to the open end of the inner tube 1| is a pouring spout 12 similar to the pouring spout 23, of Figs.

'1, 2, 3, and 4. The spout 12 may be attached to the inner tube H at one end as indicated at I5. The free end of the tube 12 may be flexed downwardly and inserted within the open end of the tube '10 and between the tubes 1t and 1|. Fitted over the open end of tube 10 is a cup shaped cover TI.

Means is provided to release the spout I2 so that it will spring into the shape as shown in Fig. 11. To this end tube I0 is formed adjacent the open end thereof with a longitudinal slot 80. Extending through the slot is a slider 8|. Said slider 8| has a head 82 at the outside of the tube and a portion 83 inside of the tube adapted to engage the free end of the spout 12 to eject the same from the tube 10.

It will thus be seen that there is provided a device in which the several objects of this invention are achieved, and which is well adapted to meet the conditions of practical use.

As various possible embodiments might be made of the above invention, and as various changes might be made in the embodiment above set forth, it is to be understood that all matter herein set forth or shown in the accompanying drawings is to be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:

1. A smokers package comprising an outer container open at one end, an inner container for tobacco or cigarettes, telescoped within the outer container, a cover over the open end of the outer container, said outer container being formed with a slot, means passing through the slot and engaging the inner container to move the same relative to the outer container, and a pouring spout attached to the inner container, the free end of the pouring spout being flexed to engage said outer container in position covering the open end of the inner container.

2. A smokers package comprising a container open at one end, a pouring spout attached to the open end of said container, said pouring spout being made of flexible normally stifl material whereby the free end thereof may be flexed and engaged with said container, and means on said container to eject the free end of said spout from said container to permit the spout to snap into stiff shape.

3. A smokers package comprising an outer container open at one end, an inner container for tobacco or cigarettes, telescoped within the outer container, a cover over the open end of the outer container, said outer container being formed with a slot, means passing through the slot and engaging the inner container to move the same relative to the outer container, a pouring spout attached to the inner container, the free end of the pouring spout being flexed to engage said outer container in position covering the open end of the inner container, said spout being made of a flexible, normally stifi material.

A smokers package comprising an outer tubular container closed at one end and open at the other end, an inner tubular container telescoped within the outer container, a cup shaped member within the outer container frictionally receiving the lower end of the inner container, the outer container being formed with a longitudinal slot, a handle on said cup shaped member passing through said slot, and a spout of flexible, normally stiff material attached at one end to one of said containers, and the free end of said spout being engaged within said outer container and adapted to be released upon ejecting said inner container from said outer container.

5. A smokers package comprising an outer tubular container closed at one end and open at the other end, an inner tubular container telescoped within the outer container, a cup shaped member within the outer container frictionally receiving the lower end of the inner container, the outer container being formed with a longitudinal slot, a handle on said cup shaped member passing through said slot, a spout of flexible, normally stiff material attached at one end to one of said containers, and the free end of said spout being engaged within said outer container and adapted to be released upon ejecting said innercontainer from said outer container, and a cover on the open end of said outer container.

6. A smokers package comprising an outer tubular container closed at one end and open at the other end, an inner tubular container telescoped within the outer container, a cup shaped member within the outer container frictionally receiving the lower end of the inner container, the outer container being formed with a longitudinal slot, a handle on said cup shaped member passing through said slot, a spout of flexible, normally stifi material attached at one end to one of said containers, the free end of said spout being engaged within said outer container and adapted to be released upon ejecting said inner container from said outer container, a cover on the open end of said outer container, said inner container comprising a plurality of pipe refills, and said inner container being perforated between said refills.

7. A smokers package comprising an outer container open at one end, an inner container for tobacco or cigarettes, telescoped within the outer container, a cover over the open end of the outer container, said outer container being formed with a slot, means passing through the slot and engaging the inner container to move the same relative to the outer container, and a pouring spout attached to the inner container.
