9 Claims. (01. 282-115) My invention relates to improvements in manifclding stationery and mcre'particularly to stationery made up for ready use in typewriter machines, billing machines and the like.
A particular object of this invention is to provide an improved so-called allset manifold packet or pad comprising multiple sheet forms having interleaved carbon paper assembled together in a single pack and wherein the sheets of carbon paper are detachably secured between the paper sheets at one or more contact points so that they can be readily detached from the paper sheet forms after use.
Another object is to provide an improved manifold packet sheet form wherein the necessity of attaching the carbon sheet to the paper sheet forms along its entire marginal lengths is eliminated by the use of pasting tabs from which the carbon sheet is readily detached.
Another object is to devise an economical copy sheet pad having a plurality of sheet forms made up' into a set with interleaved carbon copy paper detachably secured between the sheet forms and fastened thereto whereby the carbon sheets can be grasped and quickly detached from the pack.
Another object is to provide an improved manifololing supply pad made up of multiple sheet forms having interleaved carbon paper therebetween wherein the carbon paper is adhesively held in position by marginal spaced contact pasting tabs which are perforated to permit ready detachment of the carbon sheet during use.
These and other objects and advantages will appear from the following descriptiontaken in connection with the drawing.
This is a division of my co-pending application, Serial No. 329,339, filed April 12, 1940, now Patent Number 2,256,585 dated Sept. 23, 1941.
Figure 1 is a perspective view illustrating the use of my improved manifold stationary packet attached at spaced sections between superimposed continuous length paper sheet forms which are fan folded into a pack;
Figure 2 is a plan view of a portion of the unfolded stationary paper illustrated in Figure 1 showing the spacedforms and attached packet of manifold "sheets with intermediate perforated sections;
Figure 3 is a cross sectional view taken on the line 3-3 of Figure 2 and looking in the direction of the arrows;
Figure 4 is a perspective view of an adhesive tab utilized as a modification for attaching the carbon sheet to the continuous manifold paper forms;

In Figures 1 to 5, there is shown one embodiment of my invention wherein the carbon sheets 2| are interleaved between continuous webs of manifold paper 22 and are removably attached to the webs adjacent the spaced form sections I2 on the webs. In between the spaced form sections are perforated or weakened portions23 so as to provide read'y detachment of the forms after use. In this instance, the carbon sheet is made of less width than the continuous paper web forms and is attached to the continuous paper sheet by means of sheet tabs generally designated 2%. These tabs preferably comprise oval portions 26 and 21 which are united together at a perforated section 28 so as'to permit severing oi the tab portions 26 and?! when removing the carbon sheet. When making up the manifold papers with the inner leaf carbon sheet, adhesive material 36 is appliedto both sides of the tab part 26 and to one side of the tab part 21. After applying the adhesive to the different sections of the tab, it is brought in contact with the carbon sheet at spaced places along the lefthand margin and the carbon is then inserted between the continuous stationery sheet forms 22 and aligned with the spaced forms and'adhesively fastened in position to the continuous sheets as illustrated in Figure 5. Cut-away portions [8 are provided on the right-hand side of the continuous sheet forms so' that the carbon sheets can be readily grasped and removed after use.
As illustrated in Figures 2 and 3, the carbon paper sheets 2| are attached along the left side margin of the continuous paper webs 'Any desired number of superimposed manifold paper web forms with interleaved carbon sheets 'removably positioned therebetween may be made up into a pack form as shown in Figure 1: By this arrangement the carbon sheets are easily removed after use and can be again removably attached by perforated sticker tabs, as illustrated inFigure 4, to manifold paper web and used a second time. After the carbon paper sheets have been used a number of times mun way they may be discarded and fresh carbon substituted. A substantial saving in carbon paper is thus effected as compared with the conventional practice of using one-time carbon sheets.
It will be understood that the attachment of the carbon sheets to the sheet forms can be made by means of stapling, adhesives or interlocking the paper sheet. Any of these means or equivalent means may be employed so long as the carbon sheet is removably attached between the sheet forms to be written upon making up the stationery pad or packet. Further, it will be obvious that if desired the packets may be made up and detachably secured to a single continuous strip which is provided with perforated or weakened sections so that the orignal and attached manifold packet of sheets can be detached from each other after use.
It will be further understood that I desire to comprehend within my invention such modifications as may be found necessary to adapt it to varying conditions and uses.
Having thus fully described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. As an article of manufacture, a built-up stationery manifold packet comprising superimposed sheet forms, said forms being interleaved with transfer writing duplicate sheet material, said transfer sheet material having spaced marginal severable fastening means detachably securing said transfer writing material in fixed aligned position between and to said sheet forms, one portion of said fastening means being fixedly secured on a plurality of said sheet forms.
2. As an article of manufacture, a built-up stationery manifold packet comprising superimposed sheet forms, said forms being interleaved with carbon sheet, means comprising spaced marginal severable adhesive tab means detachably securing said carbon sheet in fixed aligned position between said sheet forms, certain of said sheet forms having cut-out thumb and finger accommodating portions exposing said carbon sheet whereby the same can be readily grasped and withdrawn from the set of sheet forms, one portion of said tab means being fixedly secured on a plurality of said sheet forms.
3. As an article of manufacture, a manifold carbon sheet having spaced perforated adhesive tabs adhesively attached along one edge of said carbon sheet, said carbon sheet being adapted to be secured by a portion of said tabs to a plurality of writing paper sheets and further adapted to be detached by severing said tabs along their perforations, said carbon sheet being adapted for reuse by attaching along one edge thereof new perforated tabs and bringing the portions of said tabs not adhesively attached to said carbon into adhesive contact with a plurality of, writing paper sheets.
4. In combination, superimposed stationery writing sheet material, carbon paper interleaved with said sheet material, perforated fastening means adhesively attached at spaced intervals along one edge of said carbon paper with a portion of said fastening means extending outwardly from said carbon paper, said outwardly extending portions being adhesively attached to a plurality of said writing sheet material, whereby said carbon paper is removable after use by severing said fastening means along their perforations,
5. As an article of manufacture, carbon paper sheet for use in manifold stationery packets comprising perforated adhesive tabs adhesively attached along one margin thereof, a portion of each of said tabs extending outwardly from said margin, said outwardly extending portion being adhesively prepared on both sides thereof and adapted adhesively to contact a plurality of writing paper sheets.
6. As an article of manufacture, a manifold stationery packet comprising superimposed sheet forms having interleaved carbon sheet material, a plurality of perforated pasting tabs secured to said carbon sheet material along one margin thereof, said pasting tabs having a portion extending outwardly from said margin and being adhesively prepared on both sides thereof, said outwardly extending adhesively prepared portions of said pasting tabs being adhesively attached to the margin of a plurality of said sheet forms, said sheet forms having a cutaway portion along the margin opposite that along which said tabs are adhesively attached thereto whereby said carbon sheet can be grasped and detached from said manifold packet after use by severing. said pasting tabs along their perforations.
'7. As an article of manufacture, a stationery manifold packet comprising superimposed aligned paper sheets having individual carbon sheets detachably secured between adjacent paper sheets by spaced perforated adhesive tab means positioned adjacent the margin of said paper sheets, one portion of each of said adhesive tab means being adhesively attached adjacent the margin of said individual carbon sheets and the other portion of said adhesive tab means being adhesively attached to a plurality of said paper sheets whereby said paper sheets and said carbon sheets are maintained in relative alignment and said carbon sheets may be removed from said manifold packet after use by severing said adhesive tab means along their perforations.
8. As an article of manufacture, a manifold packet of carbon and paper sheets, said carbon having spaced perforated adhesive tabs adhesively attached along one margin thereof arranged for detachably securing said carbon to said manifold papers and maintaining said papers in packet form after removal of said carbon, said tabs having one portion thereof adhesively attached to one sheet of carbon and the other portion thereof adhesively attached to a plurality of paper sheets.
9. As an article of manufacture, a manifold carbon sheet paper having detachable adhesively prepared perforated tabs adhesively attached along one edge of said carbon sheet, one portion of each of said tabs extending outwardly from said carbon sheet, said outwardly extending portion being adapted adhesively to engage a plurality of manifold paper sheets, whereby said paper sheets are retained in desired relative position after said carbon has been detached by severing said tabs along their perforations.
