1 Claim.

The present invention relates to a combination container and dispenser and, more particularly, to a specially constructed container which has in combination therewith a dispenser by means of which the contents of the container may be removed.

One of the objects of the present invention is to provide a specially constructed container having means therein for normally holding a dispenser such as a straw within the container and whereby upon the removal of the cap of the bottle, the dispenser will automatically project therefrom so that the contents of the container may be removed through the medium of the dispenser disposed therein.

The invention contemplates the provision of a specially constructed container having an enlarged bottom with a centrally disposed bore therein which is adapted to receive the lower end of a tubular dispenser which is normally held therein by novel means and being provided with Aa cap on the upper end thereof which abuts the inner side of the cap closing the container.

Figure 1 is a front elevational view of the bottle like container partly in section showing the dispenser disposed therein;

Figure 2 is a similar view showing the position of the dispenser in its automatic raised position after the cap of the bottle has been removed;

Figure 3 is a fragmentary sectional view of the upper end of the dispenser and,

Figure 4 is a fragmentary sectional view showing the manner in which the dispenser is held in position in the bottom portion of the container prior to the insertion of the liquid.

In the accompanying drawing wherein for the purpose of illustration, there is shown a preferred embodiment of the invention, the reference numeral 6 generally designates a bottle like container which may be constructed of any desired material and which may be of any preferred shape desired. As illustrated, the container' is formed with an enlarged bottom portion 8 which has centrally disposed therein a bore I0, terminating short of the bottom of the container. Prior to the insertion of the cap I2 on the upper end of the container there is inserted longitudinally and centrally of the container a dispenser such as a waterproof straw Il or the like, the lower free end of which is inserted in the bore I0. The upper end of the dispenser I4 is provided with a closure cap IB constructed of waterproof material and as will be observed from Figure 1, after the liquid has been placed in the bottle 6, the cap I6 of the dispenser abuts the lower inner portion of the cap I2 of the container.

Attention is specifically directed to Figure 4 wherein it is shown that the lower end of the dispenser I4 is dipped in an edible cement or jell such as plain sugar syrup and then inserted in the bore I0 prior to the filling of the container 6 with the liquid.

This syrup 20 surrounding the lower end of the dispenser I4 fills the space between the outer side of the dispenser and the bore III securely holding the dispenser in an upright position in the container prior to the filling of the container with the liquid and the subsequent capping of the container.

Obviously, the liquid within the container within a very short period will dissolve the edible cement or the like and consequently, upon the removal of the cap I2, as clearly illustrated in Figure 2, the dispenser will rise upwardly whereupon its cap I6 may be removed and the liquid drawn from the container through the medium of the adapter.

While there is shown for the purpose of illustration, a preferred embodiment of the invention, it is to be understood that it is capable of various changes and modifications without departing from the spirit and scope thereof and it is intended therefore, that only such limitations shall be imposed thereon as are indicated in the prior art or the appended claim.

What I claim is:

In combination with a container having an enlarged lower portion thereof with a centrally disposed longitudinal bore therein terminating short of the bottom side thereof, a dispenser constructed of desired material having its inner end inserted in said longitudinal bore, the upper end of the dispenser terminating adjacent the upper end of the container, and means on the lower end of said dispenser soluble in the liquid adapted to be carried by the container for securing said inner end of the dispenser within said bore pnor to the insertion of the liquid within the container.
