The cover for the wafer is best made in the noun way in Roman oandlesmnd, 353l10wl1 in Fig. 2, for larger fire-works, I prefer to use a tape and a paper cap, ae'shown in Fig. 3.

The rubber is a narrow strip 01, wood or stiff paper, oneside of which is coated with amorphous phosphorus; it is made in all respects like the lighting-surface ofjfne boxi'or L safety matehelf.
