This invention relates to canned liquid dispensers, and its principal object is to provide novel means for enclosing a tin can, opening it and serving the contents directly from. the can.
Condensed milk,.cream, vegetable juices and many other liquids which are, in most instances, packaged in tin cans, are sometimes dispensed directly from the cans through punctures made therein. Tin cans, containing condensed milk, cream or other wholesome liquids are unsightly when used on the table, and are not entirely sanitary after they have once been opened, and one object of the present invention is the provision of an attractive and ornamental device for enclosing the tin can and having means whereby communication is established between the interior of the can and the spout of ,the dispenser, whereby the contents may be served directly from the tin can.
Another. object is to provide a 'shell or housing adapted to receive an unpunctured, filled tin can and provided with one or more blades whereby the tin can is opened at a place registering with the spout, whereby the contents may be dispensed directly fromthe tin can.
Another object is to provide means for securing the can in the shell or housing while it is being opened, and thereafter until the can is to be ejected from the shell.
Another object is to provide means for ejecting the empty can from the dispenser. I
Other objects and advantages will appear in the course of this specification, and with said objects and advantages in View, thisl invention consists in the several novel features hereinafter fully set forth and claimed.
One embodiment of the invention is illustrated in the drawing accompanying this specication, in which l Fig. 1 is a side elevation of the dispenser, certain parts being shown by dotted lines in a second position.

Referring to said drawing, the reference character I designates a shell or housing having a somewhat bell shape and formed with a top wall II from which a cylindrical side wall I2 projects down and iiares outward adjacent its lower end to provide an enlargement or base I3. The internal diameter of the cylindrical wall I2 is slightly greater than the external diameter of the tin can I4-with which the dispenser is used. The device may be made in various sizes tovaccommodate it to varioussizes of tin cans.
' Rotatively mounted upon the top wall II is a spout I which, as shown, is provided with a tubular, externally threaded neck I6 that extends through an opening in the top wall I I, and above said neck the spout is formed with a flange I'I to provide a shoulder of greater diameter than the opening in the top wall II. A circular, notched nut I8, threadedly secured on the neck I6, is provided for mounting the spout upon the top wall Il. Said nut I8 is provided with a reduced upper part I9 which nts the hole in the top wall II. The reduced part of the nut is slightly wider than the thickness of the top wall, so that when it is screwed up tight on the neck I8 it bears against the under side of the flange I1 and permits the spout to be freely turned in the opening in the top wall.
Secured to and projecting down from the lower edge of the neck I6 is one or more pointed, sharp blades 20, which are adapted to be thrust through the top wall of the can and to cut a circular disc therefrom, thereby providing an opening communicating l with the spout I5 through the neck I6.
In the upper end of the shell or housing is secured a rubber or other resilient pad 22 which is formed with an opening'to receive the neck 85 I6 and nut I8. 'I'he lower face of the pad may be provided with a series of annular ribs 23, and it is provided with an annular rib 24 which surrounds -the neck I6 oi' the nozzle. If desired, a cavity 22a may be provided in the upper face of the pad, in` which a partial vacuum may be to more effectively hold the pad in place in the upper end of the shell or housing.
Welded or otherwise secured to and projecting from the spout I5 is an arm.25, desirably of channel like formation and extending to a place somewhat beyond the side of the shell or housing. Disposed between the upstanding sides of the arm 25, and pivotally mounted on said arm as by a rivet 26, is the stem 2l, of a lid or cover 28, for closing the spout. The stem 21 is formed upon its outer end with a thumb piece 29 by which the lid may be lifted by depressing the thumb piece. A canned liquid dispenser comprising a shell having a top and open at its bottom, and adapted to receive a can from which the contents are to be dispensed, a spout rotatably mounted on the top of the shell and having an actuating arm, can-cutting means carried by said spout and arranged to puncture the can top when the can is fully inserted into the shell, said arm serving as means whereby to rotate the spout and therewith the cutting means to cut a disc out of the can top, ears projecting from said shell and serving to lock the arm and therewith the spout in the pouring position of the spout, and a combined can lock and ejector pivotally carried by" within' the shell against the top thereof, a spout rotatably mounted on the top of the shell and having a neck extending through an opening in the pad, cutting means carried by the neck and adapted to puncture a can when inserted into the shell against the pad, an actuating arm whereby the'spout is rotated and a swinging can lock for locking the can in the shell, having a can ejector arranged to be engaged by the top of a can while being inserted into the shell, whereby the can lock is moved into locking engagement with the can.
9. .A canned liquid dispenser comprising a shell adapted to receive a can from which the conthe ears and having a foot adapted to be engaged by a can top when the can is inserted into the shell, whereby to partially rotate the combined lock and ejector and therewith project the heel into locking engagement with the can.

A canned liquid dispenser comprising a shell closed at the top and open at the bottom andl adapted to receive a can from which the contents are to be dispensed, a spout having a neck protruding inwards through the top of the shell, means to rotatably mount the spout on the top of the shell,cutting means carried by said neck in position to puncture a can when vthe latter is inserted into the shell, an actuating arm secured to and projecting from the spout, whereby the spout may be rotated, said arms having a downwardly projecting lug, ears projecting from the shell in position to engage said lug between them, whereby to lock the actuating arm andtherewith the spout in the pouring position of the spout, and a combined can lock and ejector pivotally carried by the ears. A canned liquid dispenser comprising a shell closed at the top and open at the bottom, and adapted to receive a can from which the contents are to be dispensed, a sealing padsecured tents are to be dispensed, a spout through which the canned contents are dispensed, said spout being rotatably mounted on the shell on a vertical axis and having -a channeled arm whereby the spout is rotated, can-opening means carried by the spout for cutting an opening in the can in register with the spout, 'a lid for said spout having a stem extending through the channel of said arm and pivotally mounted on the sides of the arm.

A canned liquid dispenser comprising a shell adapted to receive a can from which the contents are to be dispensed, said shell having a spout rotatably mounted thereon and through which the can contents are dispensed, can opening means carried by said spout for cutting an opening in the can in register with the spout,
an arm projecting from the spout by means of which it is rotated, a combined can lock and ejector pivotally carried by the shell and having a` handle by means'of which it is manipulated,
and means to lock the arm in position over said combined can lock and ejector.
11. A canned liquid dispenser comprising a shell adapted to receive a can from which the contents are to be dispensed, said shell having a spout rotatably mounted thereon and through which the can contents are dispensed, can opening means carried by said spout for cutting an opening in the can in register with the spout,
