This invention relates to a scraper for scraping sauce pans and other kitchen articles, the general object of the invention being to provide a handle having a metal blade attached thereto with a scraper blade made of Celluloid or the like with means for detachably connecting the scraper blade to the metal blade so that the scraper blade can be removed whenever desired so that it can be cleaned or another blade substituted for it.

This invention also consists in certain other features of construction and in the combination and arrangement'of the several parts to be hereinafter fully described, illustrated in the accompanying drawing and specifically pointed out in the appended claims.

In describing the invention in detail, reference will be had to the accompanying drawing wherein like characters denote like or correspending parts throughout the several views,

and in which:

Figures 5 and 6 are views of different types of Celluloid blades.

In these views the numeral I indicates avhandle and the numeral 2 indicates a metal plate having a shank 3 extending from one edge thereof which is Yfitted into the handle, these parts forming a permanent portion of the device. The scraper blade proper is shown at 6 and is preferably formed of Celluloid and a smaller platelike member 'l of Celluloid or the like is fastened at three of its edges to a portion of the blade or pate 6 adjacent the rear edge thereof with the other edge of the plate 1 free of the plate 6 so that-the platel forms a pocket for receiving the plate 2 which is. inserted through the top of the pocket formed "by the spaced rear edges of the parts Gand 1. Snap fastener parts 8 are carried by the rear edge of the blade 6 and complementary snap fastener parts 9 are carried by the rear edge of the plate 1 so that after the plate 2 has been inserted in the pocket by fastening the parts 8 and 9 together the pocket is closed to hold the blade 6 in place. However, by removing the snap fastener parts from each other the pocket is open so that the blade E can be removed from the plate 2 and cleaned or repaired or another blade with a as shown at 6 in Figure 5 which has the scraping end of the blade 6 rounded and tapered or it may be formed'as shown at 6 in Figure 6 to suit other types of utensils to be scraped. In every case, however, a pocket is formed by a second plate of Celluloid for receiving the metal-v plate 2 of the handle.

Thus it will be seen that I have provided a scraping blade of Celluloid or the like to be removably connected to a metal plate carried by a handle so that other blades can be substituted for the first blade and the blades removed for cleaning or repair purposes.

It is thought from the foregoing description that the advantages and novel features of the invention, what is the shank fitting in one end of the handle, a.

scraper blade having a straight rear edge, a small plate of flexible material having one side edge and its end edges fastened to oneface of the blade with the other side edge of the small plate being flush with the rear edge of the blade, said small plate forming a pocket for receiving the metal plate and means for detachably connecting together the rear edge portions of the blade and small plate to hold the metal plate in the pocket.

A scraping device of the class described comprising a handle, a flat metal plate having a shank extending from one side edge thereof, the shank fitting in one end of the handle, a scraper blade having a straight rear edge, a small plate of flexible material/having one side edge and its end edges fastened to one face of the blade with the other side edgeof the small plate being flush with the rear edge of the blade, said small plate forming a pocket for receiving the metal plate and means for detachably connecting together therear edge portions of the blade and small plate to hold the metal plate in the pocket, such fastening including snap fastener parts connected with the rear edge portion of the blade and complementary snap fastener parts connected with the rear edge portion of the small plate, such fastening means being located outwardly from the center of the pocket to permit the passage of the shank when the fastening means are in holding position.
