In the drawings, Figure 1 'is a perspective view of the safe with the covers of the various gitudinal sectionv of the safe, and Fig. 3 is a vertical transverse section.

The safe is preferably made of sheet metal,`

of any suitable size, and in portable form. The middle and main portion consists of an oblong box, A, having a sliding cover, a, and fitted with two or more loose boxes, b b, for containin g sugar, flour, or other bulky articles, which boxes b can be lifted out for filling or cleaning.

Upon the cover a. of box A is fitted a box, B,

adapted for holding knives and forks and hav-k ing'a sliding cover. To the cover c of box A is attached a handle, c, by which the whole safe can be carried 5 or the knife-boxV B may be removed, with the cover a, and carriedvby the handle.

At each of the longer sides of box A is formed a box, C, each of which is divided by a horizontal partition, d, into yan. upper `and lower portion. The upper portions of boxes O are divided icy-partitions into small compartments for containing spices, saleratus, &c., and fitted with hin ged covers c.

Having thus described my' invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patentl. The housekeepers safe consisting of the central box, A, having a sliding cover, a, titted with a knife-box, B, and the side boxes, O D, att-ached upon the box A, and provided with hinged covers, combined together in the manner and for the purposes set forth.

2. In housekeepers7V safes, the side boxes,C, divided by horizontal partitions d, and provided with drawers f and hinged covers c, combined with the main box A, that is fitted with the loose boxes l, and the knife-box B, attached upon the cover of box A, all substantially as shown and described. v
