Description

J; KESSLER. Lemon-Squeezer.
No. 223,360. v Patented Jan. 6, I880.
ETERS, PHDTOMYHOGRAPHEQ wasumaTcw a c UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOSEPH KESSLER, OF FLORENCE, ALABAMA.
LEMON-SQUEEZER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 223,360, dated January 6, 1880.
Application filed November 528, 1879.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOSEPH KESSLER, of Florence, in the county of Lauderdale and State of Alabama, have invented certain new and useful Improvements inLemon-Squeezers;
. companying drawings, which form a part of this specification.
Figure l is a perspective view. Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view, and Fig. 3 is a detail view.
Corresponding parts in the several figures are denoted by like letters of ieference.
This invention relates to an improved lemonsqueezer, the construction of which will be hereinafter fully described, and particularly pointed out in thenclaim.
In the annexed drawings, A represents a base provided with standards B B, connected by a cross-piece, U. The standards B B are provided upon theirjnner sides with recessed brackets D D, to receive the arms E E of the ring or holder F, which is provided upon its under sidewith an annular recess, G, to receive the glass or vessel into which the lemonjuice is to be squeezed. The ring or holder F receives the bowl H, having an open bottom provided with notches I I, to admit the catches J J upon the edge of the inverted perforated presser-cup K, which latter may be turned so as to secure it in position.
'A bar, L, sliding vertically in a suitable opening in the-top or cross piece 0, carries at its lower end an inverted bowl, M, fitting over the presser-cup K, and connected by springs N N with the top piece, thus keeping the said cup or bowl M in an elevated position. At its upper end the bar L is provided with a friction wheel or roller, 0, operated upon by a lever, P, having its fulcrum in the upper end of an upright, Q, extending upward from the crossbar 0.
From the foregoing description, taken in connection with the drawings hereto annexed, the operation of my invention and its advantages will be readily understood. It is simple, inexpensive, efiicient, and easily handled.
Having thus described my invention, I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States The herein described improved lemonsqueezer, consisting of the uprights B B, having recessed brackets D D, cross-piece O, holder F, bowl H, presser-cup K, sliding bar L, having bowl M and roller 0, springs N N, and lever P, all combined and operating substantiall y as and for the purpose herein shown and specified.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto affixed my signature in presence of two witnesses.
JOSEPH KESSLER.
