STRAW-CUTTER.
Specification of Letters Eatent No. 22,072, dated November 16, 1858.
To all 'whom 'it may concern:
lle itv known that we, VLLSON Genna* and Manno); MeFisriEn, of the town of Chattanooga, Hamilton county, State of TemieeLm see, have invented a` new and Improved Straw-Cutter; and we do hereby declare that the followinl is a full and exact deeeription thereof, reference being,` had to the aeeonipanying drawings and letters of reference marked thereon, in whieh- A represents the treadle or lever. B the knife. (a) the Connection of the knife with the lever. C the double leafed wooden Spring and the connection of the lever with the Spring which elerates the knife.
D is a` leather strap on the end of the treedle forming a stirrnp in which the right footis: placed to assist the Spring te raise the knife Should it from any canse become wedged between the jaws when the ent is made.
