In Fig. 9 the upper section is constructed as indicated in Fig. 7, the element 8 serving as a drip edge. In Fig. 13 a glass support I6 is shown which can be held in its position by one of the double flanges as illustrated in Fig. 9. The bent portions ll of the support l6 cause the necessary grip in the double flange and a part l8 serves as fastening means. v
Fig. 11 shows how a structure according to the invention can be used to secure hollow plates, the structures employed being those according to Fig. 5. One of'the structures is secured by an anchor I 4 which is inserted in the groove between the legs of a double flange.
Structures according to Fig. 2 may be used for securing a fixed window or a wall. (See Fig. 12.) The re-entrant flanges 4 and lips 5 serve as a more or less flexible clamping device around I an anchor [5. When, as indicated in this figure,

For large structures a stiffening element as shown in Fig. 1'7 for the stiffening of the corners could be affixed, for example by welding, in the grooves formed between the legs of 'the double flanges in order to prevent deflection. Fig. 18 shows such a construction.
A further advantage of the construction according to the invention is shown in Fig. 19'.
In Fig. 19 structures according to Fig. 3 have been applied forthe jointing of a wall to a metal girder 31. The grooves forming the flanges contain the plates building up the wall. One of the flanges has been fastened to the girder 31 by means of bolts 28. These are enclosed within the recess formed by the re-entrant flange 4 and the lip 5 and therefore are invisible. Furthermore the flange 4 serves as a strong support which prevents deflection. covering 24 is brought against the panel plate 23 which is located in and held by the groove 2 formed between the legsof the double flange I of the section. In Fig. 19 there is also indicated how, by applying structures according to the invention, a window 43 can be aflixed to the wall. 7

Also for the joining of parts to a wall (partition Wall) the construction according to the invention can be of advantage. An example of such a construction is given in Fig. 21, in which structures according to Figs. 3 and 5 are employed. Both sections and the parts of the wall can, by means of the construction of the sections according to the invention, be kept together and in the grooves 2 formed by the double flanges, the panel plates 23 are placed. Hence it is not necessary to use screws or the like.
In Fig. 22 the manner in which an arm 34 (see Fig. 23) can be fixed to the structure according to Fig. 5 is indicated. .The perpendicular flange 35 is partially removed.
In Fig. 26 there is shown the manner in which a structure according to the invention, when used with an indiarubber strip vIII, can be employed in conjunction with a known section.
Further constructional'features of structures according to the invention are illustrated in the Figures 20, 24, and 25.
In Fig. 20'the lip 5 is doubled to form abead, the inner edge of which faces the re-entrant flange 4. The doubled lower portion is designated by 48. Furthermore a strip of, flexible material 4| is affixed, by means of which the inner edge of the head is concealed.
In Fig. 25 the beaded portion Iv of the other leg has .also a doubled upper edge 48'.-
It is preferable to shape the heading in such a manner that the beading edge-forms a hole or ear, as indicated in Fig. 24. In this case the doubled portion 48 is bent into a bevel and forms a curve 42. The bevelling may serve to hold a flexible india rubber strip or the like in position. This is especially of advantage if, in order to get a good deflection, the rubber strip or the like is longer than the depth of the recess, as shown I in Fig. 20, so that the strip stays somewhat bent.
Having now particularly described and ascertained the nature of my said invention and in what manner the same can be performed, I declare that what I claim is:
