1 Claim.

This invention relates to new and useful improvements in attachments for paint buckets and more especially to a device for holding paint brushes and which incorporates means whereby a paint brush can be wiped of surplus paint, thus eliminating the dripping of paint from overfilled brushes and further, the running of paint down the side of paint buckets when the edge 'of the can is relied upon as a wiper.

An important object of the invention is to provide a simple and inexpensive device in the form of an attachment which can be furnished with every bucket of paint and discarded after the contents of the bucket has been used.

Other objects and advantages of the invention will become apparent to the reader of the following specification.

Referring to the drawings wherein like numerals designate like parts, it can be seen that numeral 5 represents the usual bucket having a bail 6.

The attachment is generally referred to by numeral 1 and consists of the U-shaped brush hanger rod 8, one upstanding leg p rtion 9 of which is bent around one end portion of the arcuate wiper rod l0 as at H. The other upstanding leg 12 of the hanger rod 8, which is only slightly curved in comparison to the curvature of the wiper rod i0, is bent over the opposite end portion of the wiper rod III as at l3 and then disposed downwardly as at It and laterally as at IS. Having described the invention, what is claimed so as new is- A receptacle attachment of the character described comprising a rod having hooks at the ends thereof adapted to engage over the upper edge and being offset inan below the upper edge of the receptacle, a U- shaped member having its end portions secured to the rod and adapted to define a rest member for the brush end of a paint brush, one end of the U-shaped member being provided with a lateral 40,
