For example, considering one side member as a fixed part of the garment with respect to the wearer, the opposed breast part is joined to the fixed side member by the resilient straps 2| and 26. Since this garment individually supports the breasts, it will be apparent that there will be no tendency for laterally crushing or spreading the breasts, but rather they will be maintained in their normal spaced relation while at the same time they will be given the desired upward support. In, this connection it will be noted that the three-point resilient suspension of each breast part serves to provide true uplift properties.

It will further be noted that the overlapping portions of the parts ll fit snugly upon-the body of the wearer intermediate the breasts, and that the straps 23 will bear upwardly against adjacent lower sides of the breast parts and operate to raise the same and to support the breasts in the raised position. The overlapping and resiliently supported structure of the breast parts permit slight lateral movement of the breasts,

thereby insuring greater comfort to the wearer of the garment without in any way decreasing the uplift and form molding properties thereof.

This provision of lateral movement of the breast parts also enables the manufacturer of garments of this type to materially decrease the number of different sizes, since a garment of one bust size will adapt itself to use by'wearers having difierent bust measurements. From the manufacturer's standpoint, my improved brassiere has other distinct advantages in that it is composed essentially of three pairs of cooperating parts which, when stitched together, provide the form-fitting contour of the garment. parts of each pair'are ofsimilar peripheral contour and can readily be fashioned from the structural material in a single operation. Likewise the various connecting straps 2|, 26,-28 and32 comprise-duplicate members which can be fashioned simultaneously. It will therefore be apparent that the garment is extremely'simple and coo 'nomical in construction.
