As a result of my improvement, it will be noted that improved provision is made not only to support and locate the panel boards, channel studs, and anchoring material supporting rods, but also to facilitate and expedite partition assembly and to support the outer plastering and furnish a guide by which the plastering may be applied in an even coating to the outer surface of the parti- Note further that this results in a unitary wall of consistent thickness and standard appearance which is firmly secured to the flooring structure. Additional strength is given to the support of the partition wall by the finish flooring 4 which is laid after the coating of plaster has been applied to the wall, the boards in the finish flooring (herein at their ends) abutting'against the sides of the supporting member 2 in such a way as further to increase the firmness of the support for the partition wall structure. Attention is here directed to the inexpensive manher of assembling the partition wall and to the low cost of the partition supporting member, which may be a wooden strip with the grooves milled on the surface thereof, all while obtaining an improved supporting and locating means for the partition wall.
While I have in this applicationspeciflcally shown one of the embodiments which my invention may assume in practice, it will be understood that this iorm is shown for purposes of illustration and that the same may be modified and embodied in other forms without departing from its spirit. or the scope of the appended claims.
What I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
1. In a wall construction, a base Fs'trip having a panel supporting portion and recessed means therein, stud means supported on said supporting portion, a wall panel held between said stud means and disposed above said recessedmeans, and coating anchoring spacing means on said panel extending into said recessed means.
2. In a wall construction, a base having a supporting portion and a longitudinal groove, stud ing a supporting portion and a longitudinal groove, stud means supported on said supporting portion of said member, a wall panel held be tweensaid stud means and disposed above said groove, said longitudinal groove extending substantially parallel with the lower edges of said panel, plaster anchoring material overlying said panel, and spacing means supporting said anchoring material and receivableat their lower ends in-said groove.
4. In a wall construction, a base strip having a supporting portion, a recessed portion therein,
and a coating support on the opposite side of said recessed portion from said supporting por-' tion, stud means supported on said first portion, a wall panel held between said stud means and disposed above said recessed portion, anchoring means on said panel having spacing means in said recessed portion, and a coating overlying having spacing means in said groove, and a coating support on said base member extending along said groove on the outer edge ofsai'd member.
6. In a wall construction, a base comprising a base member having a longitudinal groove, stud means supported on said member, a wall panel held between said stud means and above said member, coating anchoring means on said panel having spacing means in said groove, a coating support on said base member extending along said groove on the outer edge of said member, sub-flooring below said base member, and finish flooring laid on said sub-flooring and engaging the side of said coating support.
7. In a wall construction, a base member having a supporting portion and parallel longitudinal grooves, upright stud means supported on the supporting portion of said member, a wall panel held between said stud means and disposed above said grooves, plaster anchoring means disposed over said wall panel, and means spacing said anchoring means from said panel and having the lower ends thereof received in said grooves.
8. In a wall construction, a base comprising a member having a supporting portion, recessed portions on opposite sides thereof, and laterally extending plaster supports outside said recessed portions, studmea'nssupported on said supporting portion, a wall panel held between said stud means and disposed above said recessed portions, plaster anchoring means overlying the opposite faces of said panel having spacing means extending into said recessed portions, and plaster ap-- plied over said anchoring means supported on said plaster supports and extending to the outer edges thereof. l
9. In a wall construction, a base comprising a member having parallel longitudinal grooves and laterally extending plaster supports outside said grooves, upright stud means supported on said member, a wall panel held between said stud means and resting on said member between the grooves, plaster anchoring means disposed over said wall panel, means including rods spacing said anchoring means from said panel and received at their lower ends in said grooves, and plaster applied over said anchoring means and extending to the edge of said base member and supported on said supports.
10. The combination in a wall structure, of sub-flooring, a partition supporting member resting on said sub-flooring and having parallel longitudinal grooves and plaster supports extending laterally outside said grooves, channel studs supported on said member, a wall panel held between said channel studs, reticulated metal disposed over said wall panel, means including rods spacing said reticulated metal from said wall panel and having lower ends received in said 7 grooves, plastering extending to the edge of said Patent No, 2,1l 6,726.
