My invention relates to fish-hook holders and more particularly to that class wherein the leaders are adapted to be held in a taut condition.

One of the principal objects of my invention is to provide means for holding fish-hooks in a manner to guard against accidents therefrom and at the same time protect the barbs of the hooks from injury.

Another object of my invention is to provide means to accommodate hooks and leaders of different sizes.

Still another object of my invention is to provide means which will enable a large number of hooks to be mounted o-r held in a minimum amount of space.

A further object of my invention is to provide means whereby the leaders of hooks may be held in a taut condition to prevent curling and entanglement thereof.

A still further object of my invention is to provide means whereby hooks and their leaders may be secured in spaced relation relative to each other in a manner that ready selection of the hooks may be quickly accomplished.

A still further object of my invention is to provide a holder which is simple in operation, durable in use and economical in manufacture.

pended claims and annexed drawing.

My invention, in its preferred embodiment, comprises a frame 5 preferably constructed of wood, equipped with side and cross members 6 and 'I respectively. The cross members 'I are secured to the side members 6 by means of bolts 8 seated within aligned grooves 9 formed in the cross members l. The side members E are provided with a plurality of apertures 6a for the reception of the bolts 8, said bolts equipped with suitable wing nuts 8a to lock the parts together.

Thus, it will be apparent that by removing the bolts 8 from within the grooves 9, the cross memy bers may be adjusted relative to each other, and the bolts reinserted to securely lock them in the adjusted position.

Some of the cross members l, and in this particular embodiment the end ones 1a, are provided with spaced rows of eyes I0 having threaded therethrough strands of elastic material II, such as rubber, said strands being connected at their ends to the cross members 1a. The intermediate 5 cross members are provided With rows of oppositely disposed hooks I2 threaded therein.

Fish-hooks I3 having leaders I4 are adapted to be secured between a pair of the cross members and securely held therebetween in a taut 10 condition to prevent the leaders from curling and to permit ready selection of the hooks.

In use, the intermediate cross members are adjusted, relative to the end cross members, a distance slightly in excess of the combined lengths 16 of the hooks I3 and leaders I4 which are to be secured therebetween. 'I'he hooks I3 are hooked over a section of elastic material II (one hook being positioned between each pair of eyes) and the leaders I4 of each hook are then looped over 20 the aligned hooks I2 carried between the intermediate cross members. Due to the tension eX- erted by the elastic material II, the hooks and leaders are secured between their respective cross members in a taut condition. 25

To disengage a hook, the leader is released and permitted to swing downwardly to a substantially vertical position and the hook is then grasped between the nger and thumb of the hand and raised up and out of engagement with the elastic 30 material. This particular operation permits of a ready disengaging of the hook and prevents the barb formed thereon from interfering with the disengaging operation.

A rod 20 is secured at any convenient location 35 to the side members 6 for holding swivels 2! or the like.

As heretofore stated, the frame is constructed of wood, although it is to be understood that any other suitable material may be used and this, 4o for the purpose of permitting the device to iloat should it be accidentally dropped in the water.

Various changes in construction and modications may be resorted to without departing from the spirit of the invention or scope of the ap- 45 pended claims.

Having described my invention, what I claim 1s:
