This invention relates to iirecracker pistols, and has for one of its objects the production of a simple and emcient toy pistol which is so constructed as to throw a lighted iirecracker with a fair degree of accuracy when discharged or ejected from the pistol. f
A further object of this invention is the production of a recracker pistol for lighting the fuse of a iirecracker and then forcibly ejecting the lighted iirecracker by drawing the recracker longitudinally of a trackway formed of parallel rods arranged in transverse triangular relation spaced at a proper distance to hold the recracker upon the traclrway and allow the recracker to freely slide thereon. i

By referring to the drawing it will be seen that I5 designates the handle or grip portion of the pistol or gunwhich is provided with a conventional trigger guard it and this handle or grip portion l5 carries a projecting tubular ejector casing Il extending forwardly of the handle or grip portion l5, as shown in Figure 1. This ejector casing il is provided with a longitudinally extending slot i3 along the bottom portion thereof near its inner end through which extends a finger-piece E3 carried by the bottom portion of the ejector 2G. The ejector 2B preferably comprises a rectangular hollow casing formed of metal or other suitable material and is mounted to slide on the parallel longitudinally extending .track rods 2| which are mounted within the ejector casing Il, the forward ends `.f the track rods 2| being secured to the end wall 22 of the ejector casing Il and the rear ends of these track rods 2| being secured to the partition disc 23 carried near the rear end of the ejector casing l1. This ejector is adapted to freely slide upon the track rods 2| both while it is being set or cocked and while it is ejecting the recracker, as will be hereinafter described.
A tension coil spring 2t is mounted within the ejectorcasing I1 and one end of this tension coil spring 24 is secured, as at 25, to the forward end of the ejector 20 by being extended through the aperture 26. The opposite or forward end of the coil spring 24 is connected to the eye 2l of the rod 28, which rod 28 is provided with a linger loop 29 at its outer end whereby the rod 28 may be moved longitudinally through the end wall 22 of the casing Il' and a pin 30 extended through a qsuitable aperture in the rod 28 to hold the rod 28 in a set position to increase the tension of the spring 2t should it be desired, in this way increasing or decreasing the range of the pistol by adjusting the tension of the coil spring 24. Any suitable or desired means might be employed for adjusting the tension of the coil spring 2t without departing from the spirit of the invention. Th coil spring 24 is mounted so as to surround the track rods 2| and is of suiclent size to expand and contract without interference with the track rods l2| as will be obvious by considering the drawing. The ejector 20 is provided with an ejector tongue formed of spring metal and indicated by the numeral 3| which ejector tongue extends rearwardly of the ejector 20 as shown in Figures 1 and 9, and extends through a slot llc formed in the top of the casing I1, the tongue 3l having an upwardly extending spur 32 which is adapted to engage the flrecracker F. The ejector tongue 3| is provided with an upwardly extending knob 3|a near the upwardly extending `spur 32 which is adapted to engage the depressed portionlla. of the casing |1 which is located near the forward end of the slot Ila in which the spur 32 travels. This 'will cause the ejector tongue 3| to be depressed to thelposition shown in Figure 5 while the gun is being loaded and the firecracker F is being placed in position and hold the spur 32 out of the path of the movement of the nrecracker F during the process of loading. As the gun is cocked, and the ejector 20 is moved rearwardly, the tongue 3| -will snap up to its normal position shown in .Figure l for engagement with. the firecracker. The ejector 20 is also provided with a rigid cocking bar 34, the bar 34 projecting rearwardly of the ejector 20 and having a'notch 35 formed in its under face and an inclined bot tom wall 36 adjacent the no tch 35.
