Description

Sept. 7- J. c. HERZOG 2,092,604
HAIRNET PACKAGING Filed May 26, 1956' INVENTOR.
jsefbfl 179/20 t .4 BY m ATTORNEY.
Patented Sept. 7, 1937 UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE 1 Claim.
This invention relates to hairnet packages and has for one of its objects the provision of such a package comprising an inner envelope over the top and a side edge of which a portion of a hair net may be folded over and held in place thereon by anchoring same at two opposite corners of the envelope, the remainder of the hair net being contained within the inner. envelope and the entire inner envelope and hair net being enclosed within an outer transparent envelope through which the hair net is visible for inspection.
Another object of the invention is to provide such a package the inner envelope being provided with a representation of a female head thereon, the hair of which may be suitably colored or tinted so that it may form a suitable background for a correspondingly colored hair net superposed over the said head to illustrate to a prospective purchaser the effect of the hairnet upon her own head and enable her to readily choose the desired hair net.
A further object of the invention is the provision of such a hair net package, in which the inner envelope may be utilized for maintaining the hairnet when the outer envelope becomes mutilated or destroyed.
A further object of the invention is to preserve, by means of the outer visible air sealed wrapper, the natural lustre of the hair of which the net is made.
A still further object of the invention is to provide a highly practical inexpensive and attractive manner for packing and displaying hairnets.
Other objects and advantages will appear as the nature of the improvements is better understood, the invention consisting substantially in the novel arrangement and co-relation of parts herein fully described, and illustrated in the accompanying drawing, wherein similar reference characters are used to describe corresponding parts throughout the several views, and then finally pointed out and specifically defined and indicated in the appended claim.
The disclosure made the basis of exemplifying the present inventive concept suggests a practical embodiment thereof, but the invention is not to be restricted to the exact details of this disclosure, and the latter, therefore, is to be understood from an illustrative, rather than a restrictive standpoint.
In the drawing accompanying this specification Figure 1 is a front view of my improved hairnet package.
Fig. 2 is a rear view thereof; and
Fig. 3 is a sectional view at an enlarged scale taken on line 3-3 Fig. 1,
Referring now to the drawing in detail, 5 indicates an outer Wrapper or envelope made of cellophane or other transparent material suitable for the purpose. The said envelope 5 is provided at the rear thereof with a sealing flap 6. The outer envelope 5 contains a second or inner envelope 7 made of paper or other suitable material and has printed or lithographed on the front thereof a head 8 of a female having hair 9 which may be suitably colored in one of the various shades. of real human hair.
superposed over the head 8 and folded over the top edge H) of the envelope 7 is a hairnet I2 a portion l3 of which extends into the interior M of the envelope between the rear wall I5 and flap l6 thereof. To more firmly and securely maintain the hairnet in place over the inner envelope the opposite corners l i and N3 of the inner envelope pass through the mesh of the hairnet and form anchoring means therefor.
2 In anchoring the hairnet at the corners I! and a I 8, a portion thereof partly overlaps the side edge I I of the inner envelope.
From the foregoing it will be seen that I have provided a simple inexpensive yet attractive and 30 practical manner of packing hairnets in which the hairnets are at all times visible to the prospective purchaser. It will further be seen that in addition to the outer envelope for maintaining the hairnet, the inner envelope is provided for storing the said net after the said outer envelope becomes torn.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent is:
A hairnet package comprising an inner en- JOSEPH o. HERZOG.
