This invention relates to a supporter or fixture for window shade rollers. One of the objects of this invention is to provide an improved sup- Y porter for this purpose whereby window shade v rollersA of various lengths maybe sup-ported by the same fixture and thus avoid the necessity of procuring new iixtures whenever roller shades of different lengths are to be mounted on the re- 1 spective fixture. t
10 A further object o1 this invention is to provide a supporter or xture for window shade rollers which is capable of being adjusted so as to readily adapt the xture to meet varying conditions of window structures and thus enable the same fixture to be utilized by a tenant when moving from one building to another having different kinds of windows.
Other objects of this invention are to improve the supporting xture in various details of con- 2t', struction so as tofacilitate the use of thev same and readily adapt it to varying conditions of installation as will presently appear.

In the following description similar characters of reference indicate like parts in the several gures of the drawing.
In its general organization this shade roller supporter or xture comprises a supporting base or beam, brackets which are mounted on opposite ends of this beam and are adapted to be engaged by the pins at opposite ends of the shade or screen roller for supporting the saine, and carrying means whereby the base or beam may be mounted.
In the construction shown in the drawing the supporting beam or base comprises twohorizontal longitudinal rods 2l which have their innerl ends overlying one another in a parallel position and are adapted to be adjusted lengthwise relatively to one another for the purpose of either shortening or lengthening this beam or base to suit the length of the shade roller which is to be supported.
The inner end of o-ne of the beam rods. 2l is provided with a laterally projecting eye 9| which receives the adjacent part of the other beam rod 5 and the inner end of the latter is provided with an eye 22 which is arranged alongside of the com-- panion beam rod. This last mentioned eye is adjustably connected with the other beaml rod by means which include a pair of clips which are 10 provided on their corresponding ends with eyes 23 arranged on opposite sides of the eye 22 while their opposite ends are provided with hooks 24 embracing the companion beam rod 2l from..` its opposite sides, and a bolt 25 passing through the 15 eye 22 of the respective beam rod and through the eyes 23 of the respective clips mounted on this rod. Upon loosening the bolt 25 the bearn rods 2l can be slid lengthwise relatively to each other for the purpose of bringing the brackets 20 mounted thereon into the proper position relative to the opposite ends of the shade roller which is to be'V supported and thereafter these rods may be held rigidlyagainst movernent relative to each other by tightening the bolt 25. 25
If desired additional means may be employed for locking or clamping the beam rods together after the same have been adjusted, such as the means which are shown in Figs. l and 4 and whichV comprise a U-shaped clip 2S engaging one 30 side with the central overlying parts of the rods 2|, a at disk 21 engaging the opposite side of these rods transversely in line with the U-shaped clip 26 and a bolt 2l! connecting these plates and passing between the two rods 2|. When the 35 bolt 21| is loose the rods 2! can bey freely moved lengthwise relatively to each other and upon tightening this bolt these rods are securely gripped between the plates 26 and 27 so that the two rods practically form a unit or integral body. 40
t the outer ends of the horizontal supporting rods 2l the same are provided respectively with downwardly projecting loops 2B each of which is formed by reversely bending the outer end portion of each of the supporting rods and thus 4,5 form a vertical slot 29 within the respective loop which constitutes a hanger.
On the front side of the hanger 28 of the base or beam are mounted vertically elongated loopshaped carriers 92, and on the front of each of 50 these carriers is mounted a bracket which is preferably made of sheet metal and of L-shape so as to form an upright flange 93 which engages the front side of the respective carrier 28 and a forwardly projecting arm 94. The arm 94 of 55 the right hand bracket is provided with a complete bearing 95 in which the pivot pin 30 at one end of the window shade roller 3| is journaled, and the arm 94 of the left hand bracket is provided with an upwardly opening straight sided socket 93 which receives the spring pin 32 at the other end of this roller and holds this `last mentioned pin against turning.
For the purpose of bringing the shade roller which is mounted on the brackets in a horizontal position so that it will operate properly, each of the carriers 92 is adjustable vertically on the respective hanger and each of the brackets associated therewith isA also adjustable vertically on said hanger. These members are rigidly held in position after the same have properly been adjusted by a lower bolt 91 passing through the lower end of each carrier 92 and the adjacent part of the respective hanger 28, an upper bolt S8 passing through the upper end of the respective bracket ange 93 and the upper part of the adjacent carrier 02, and an intermediate bolt 09 passing through the lower part of said bracket flange and the central parts of the respective carrier 92 and hanger 28 and through a U-shaped clip straddling the rear side of this-hanger.
The means for holding the spring pin 32 in the socket 96 consist of a hook I0| adapted `to engage over this spring pin, and arranged at one end of a longitudinally slotted shank |02 and an arm |03 provided at one end with an eye |04 which is fastened to the adjacent bracket and Y associated parts by the' respective bolt Y99 and having ran eye at its opposite end to which the shank |02 is adjustably secured by a bolt |06 to permit the hook |0| to be engaged with and Ydisengaged from the spring pin 32.
Means are provided for mounting the shade roller supporter or fixture on the window frame so that the WindowY sash can be opened and closed independently of the shade. The form of the means for this purpose shown in the drawing includes two links each of which comprises a 'lower rod section |01 having a lower eye |08 at its lower end which is secured to the rear Vor outer side of the upper part of one of the carriers 92 by the respective bolt 98 and also having an upper eye |09, an upper rod section I0 provided at its lower end With an eye which is secured by a bolt l |2 to the upper eye |09 of the lower rod vided with hooks engaging with opposite section |01, and a screw eye ||3 adaptedY to bev secured to 'an upper part of the window frame and to be detaohably engaged by a hook ||4 on the upper end of the upper rod section ||0. By this construction of the links the sections of the same can be adjustedA into different angular positions relative to each other in order to t the particular conditions of a window frame uponf Which the shade holder is to be mounted.
I claim as my invention:
1. A supporter for window shade rollers, including a horizontal beam which comprises a plurality of sections adjustable lengthwise relative to each other, each of said `sections having a rod, the inner part of which overlies the inner part of another of said sections, clamping means for connecting said rods including an eye ar` ranged on the inner end of one of said rods, clips sides of said eye and prosides of the other rod, and a bolt passing through said arranged on Y opposite eye and clips, and brackets mounted on the outer ends of said rods and adapted to carry opposite ends of a shade roller.
2. A supporter for window shade rollers, including a horizontal beam provided at its opposite ends with depending loop-shaped hangers, loopshaped carriers arranged in front of said hangers and adjustable vertically thereon, brackets arranged in front of said carriers and adapted to support opposite ends of a shade roller, clamping means for holding each bracket, carrier and hanger in position after the same have been adjusted relative to one another, one of said brackets having a closed bearing which is adapted to receive the rotary pivot pin at one end of the shade roller and the other bracket having an upwardly open socket adapted to receive the stationary spring pin of the shade roller, and means for retaining the stationary spring pin in said socket including an arm projecting laterally from the respective bracket, a retaining ringer provided at one end with a hook adapted to engage over the spring pin when the latter is in said socket and provided with a loop, and a clamping bolt passing through said loop and arm and adapted to secure the same together in an operative position.
