The muli may be placed on the handle by passing the handle through the slit 36, 31 and into the end holes 35. 'I'he mui can be opened up at the split when pushing the same onto the handle.

Means is provided to retain the split, meeting edges 36, 31 of the mun in mutual contact without attaching said edges together. To this end there is attached to the muff, a light metal frame 40 of resilient metal. Said frame has split circular portions 4l at the holes 35. Extending from said portions 4I are radial portions 42 adjacent the split edges 36, interconnected by longitudinal portions 43. 'I'he inner and outer walls 32, 33 may be attached to said frame in any suitable manner. Since the frame is made Vof spring metal, the same will open like a jaw and then snap back into contacting or normally closed portion when the muif is placed on the carriage handle.

The cylindrical wall 30 of the mui has a longitudinal slit 50 through which the hands may be passed when grasping the handle. Said slit may be provided with enlarged cut away portions 5I to receive the wrists. Preferably, the slit 50 extends beyond the said cut away portions 5| to facilitate insertion of the hands into the muf.

Said muli 10b may be stiiened by a frame or in any other suitable manner to maintain the slit portion 50 radially away from the handle while the hands are being inserted into the mui. The padded end walls or portions may also serve for this purpose.

The muil. may be made small and provided with an opening to receive one hand only, in which case two separate muffs are provided for the two hands, said muifs being slidable along the handle whereby the distance between the hands may be adjusted.

A pocket 60 may be provided on the interior oi.' mui IIJb, closed by a slider actuated fastener 6| disposed parallel and adjacent to the slit 50.

It will thus be seen that there is provided a device in which the several objects of this invention are achieved, and which is well adapted to meet the conditions of practical use.

As various possible embodiments might be made of the above invention, and as various changes might be made in the embodiments above set forth, itis to be understood that all matter herein set forth or shown in the accompanying drawing is to be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limiting sense.

Having thus described my invention, I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent:

1. In combination with the handle of a baby carriage, a muiT surrounding said handle and being freely movable thereon and having openings at the ends thereof through which said handle passes, said muilD having a split interconnecting said openings, and separable means for maintaining the entire split closed.

2. In combination with the handle of a baby carriage, a muff surrounding said handle and having openings at the ends thereof through which said handle passes, said muff having a split interconnecting said openings, and slider actuated fastener means for detachably attaching together the split portions of said muif throughout the length thereof between said openings.

3. In combination with the handle of a baby carriage, a muff surrounding said handle and having openings at the ends thereof through which said handle passes, said muff having a split interconnecting said openings, and means for detachably attaching together the split portions of said muli, said mun having an opening spaced from said split through which a hand Inay pass into the muff.

4. In combination with the handle of a baby carriage, a muff surrounding said handle and having openings at the ends thereof through which said handle passes, said openings being elastic, said mui having additional openings for the hands, said last mentionedopenings `likewise being elastic. 5. A muif for the handle of a baby carriage having a longitudinal split to receive said handle, and being provided with means separate and spaced from said split, to permit the hands to be inserted into said muff for grasping said handle'.

6. A muff for the handle of a baby carriage having a longitudinal split to receive said handle, and'means for maintaining said split closed, said means comprising a spring frame Within the mufl' adjacent said split portion, said mui having an opening spaced from said split to receive a hand inserted therethrough into the muif forgrasping the handle.

A mufl' comprising a member adapted to surround the handle of a baby carriage and being provided with a chamber to receive hands grasping the handle and being divided from end to end by a longitudinal split, the meeting edges of which are unattached, and means'for retaining said meeting edges substantially in contact.

A muil? comprising a member adapted to surround the handle of a baby carriage and having unattached meeting edges, and means for retaining said meeting edges substantially in contact, said muff having openings through which said handle passes and openings separate from the handle openings, to receive the hands to permit grasping of said handle.

9. A muil? comprising a member adapted `to surround the handle of ababy carriage and having meeting edges, and `means for retaining said meeting edges in contact, said mui having an opening spaced from said edges through which a hand may be inserted to grasp said handle.

10. A mun comprising a member adapted to surround the handle of a baby carriage and having meeting edges, and means for retaining said meeting edges in contact, said muilhaving an opening through which a hand may be inserted to grasp said handle, the edges of said opening being elastic to grip the wrist.

11. A mui for the handle of a baby'carriage having end openings through which the handle passes, and being provided with a pair of openings separate from the handle openings through which the hands may be inserted to graspv the handle.

12. A vmuif for the handle of a baby carriage having end openings through which the'h'andle passes, and being provided with an opening through which a hand may be inserted to grasp the handle, the latter opening being elastic.

13. A muff for the handle bar of a Ibaby carriage, comprising a body portion adapted to surround the handle bar, and having openings in opposite ends through which the handleA bar passes and being movable along said handle, a split interconnecting said openings, means for retaining the edges of the split in contact throughout its length, said means permitting Said edges to be quickly separated, and means' to receive both hands of the user in spaced relation.

14. A muff for the handle bar of a baby carriage, comprising a body portion adapted to surround the handle bar, and being freely movable thereon, and having openings in opposite ends through which the handle bar passes, a split interconnecting said openings, quickly detachable means for attaching together the opposed edges of the split throughout its length, and means to receive both hands of the user in spaced relation.

15. In combination with the handle bar of a baby carriage, a mufl` comprising a body portion surrounding the handle bar and being movable along said handle, and having openings in opposite ends through which the handle bar passes, and means to receive both hands of the user in spaced relation;
