On the sides of theframe i are sections 50 and 5! and a similar section 52 may be provided at the top and these sections may be divided into comparatively small compartments and each compartment may be provided with a door 52, and the outer surfaces of the doors may be plain or provided with mirrors as may be desired. The
size of the cabinet may be varied to accommo- 1 date different objects or devices, and in the design shown a fan 53 is provided at the top for exhausting foul air from the room and it will be noted that with this fan operating circulation Will be provided from the radiator through the room. It will be understood, however, that the fan may be located at any other point or points, and may be operatedin any manner. The motor may be operated in either direction to exhaust air, or blow in fresh air for air conditioning, as
may be desired, and this may be thermostati} cally controlled. I a
In this design a clock 54 is shown in one section at the top of the frame, and a radio 55is shown at the opposite side,'and this may be op'- erated by knobs 56 and 5'? extending through the surface of the panel. Electric sockets 58 and 59 may also be provided in thesurfaces of the panel as shown at theopposite side of the frame, and these may be used for'any forms of electrical appliances that may be desired, which may be contained inthe compartments in the sides of the frame or at any point. In Figure '3 a sun lamp 60 is shown in one compartment,'a-small light 6| is shown in another, a tooth brush 62 is shown in another, and ashaving' brush 63 is shown in another. These lamps and other devices are shown provided with anexter'isioncord, and it' will be understood that thesecords are preferably made with the wires coated with a;
relatively heavy insulating rubber cover providing a safety cord, and these cords may be relatively long and adaptedto be used for any electrical devices in any part of the room. It will be understood; however, that any suitable articles or devices may be contained in the compartments and some compartments may be made relatively large for additional supplies. A shoe stand 64 may also be provided as shown in Figure hand this may be formed on a lever 65'whichis pivotally mounted on a pin 66 and held in the upright position by a stop 61 on the side of the frame, which is indi cated by the numeral 88. This device may fold to the position shown in dotted lines inside of a frame when not in use, and it willbe note'd that seat 26 will only occupy the center. i
It will be appreciated that many other" devices may be incorporated in this cabinet "and the cabinet may be made of any shape or design'to accommodate substantially any device. A scale 69 is also shown in the lower part of the cabinet in the design shown in Figure 4 and this may be moved outward and used, and then returned to the cabinet. It will be noted that the scale and shoe stand may be placed in the ends of the lower portion of the cabinet as the glass of the mirrors 3| and 32 only extends outward to the dotted lines it and H shown in Figure 1, thereby leaving a space between the ends of the mirrors and the ends of the cabinet in which these devices may be placed, and which also provides means for the circulation of air around the ends of the mirrors and out of the ventilating openings 48 and 49 in the ends of the cabinet. however, that the radiator 47 may be located in these sections, or at the ends of the cabinet, and this may be provided in diiferent sections or as desired. A panel 12 may also be provided between the radiator and the mirrors 3! and 32 to separate the mirrors from the heat and this panel may be made of metal, wood, asbestos, or any insulating or other material.
In the design shown in Figure 3 the shelves l3 and I l are shown as made of glass and a light 15 may be placed in one or any number of compartments so that it will shine through the glass shelves and illuminate the entire interior, thereby providing means for lighting the interior of the cabinet by a single light. It will be understood, however, that the shelves may be made of any other suitable material and the light may be omitted. It will also be understood that lights of any type or design may be used in combination with this cabinet, and elongated tubular lights, or other lights, particularly for indirect lighting may be provided at any other point or points in the cabinet or room. Racks 16 may be placed on the inside of the doors as shown in Figure 3 and these may be in the form of shelves, or shelves divided into compartments of sufiicient size to hold b-ay rum, witch hazel and peroxide, having large size bottles, and also so that tooth paste, powder and other articles may be placed therein; however, it will be understood that any means may be provided in any of the cabinets for holding any particular article or for dispensing tooth paste and the like.
Air conditioning means may also be incorporated in the window and it will be noted in Figure 2 that a coil ll through which a refrigerant may be passed is positioned in front of the fan 53 and the fan may be reversed to blow air over the coil and into the room through the screen 18 at the front of the compartment, so that the air in the bathroom may be cooled to provide air conditioning means. It will be understood, however, that the air conditioning means may be incorporated in any other part of the cabinet and air conditioning devices of any suitable type may be used.
A thermostat may be provided for controlling the air conditioning and heating means, and as hereinbefore stated, the cabinet may be provided with racks, and compartments to hold substantially any article, and although the window is shown of a rectangular shape, it may be in the form of a diamond, hexagon, oval or of any shape; and the window may be constructed to provide space for a screen which may also be of any type or design. The compartment and racks It will be understood,
may be made to hold towels, books, magazines, as hereinbefore stated, and a drying and hair drying machine may be incorporated.
It is preferred to install this device in the wall of the bathroom at the window opening and the entire Wall around the cabinet may be covered with suitable material 19 which may be white, black or of various colors or arranged in any suitable designs. The entire wall around the window and also the front of the cabinet and the doors thereof may be covered with tiling or any similar material and this may be in very attractive color designs or arranged in any manner.
It will be understood that other changes may be made without departing from the spirit of the invention. One of which changes may be in the use of cabinets or compartments of any other type or design, another may be in the use of other means for closing the compartments, another may be in the use of the device in combination with a window or windows of any other type, and still another may be in the use of a cabinet of any other type or design at the base of the window.
The construction will be readily understood from the foregoing description. In use the device may be provided as shown and described and, as hereinbefore stated, it is preferred to incorporate it at the Window opening in a bathroom and practically every article or device used in a bathroom or for cosmetics, shaving, cleaning, or polishing shoes and the like may be incorporated therein. As hereinbefore stated the cabinet may also be provided with electric sockets for appliances for massaging, rubbing and shampooing, or for back rubbing, sun lamps, a cigarette lighter, a clock, and for many other devices or appliances.
This device, therefore, forms a miniature beauty parlor or barber shop. and all are incorporated in a bathroom and installed in combination with the window thereof.
