A means is; provided VWherebya roll of paper is kpulled across the top ofthe toilet-seat from one side of same to the other. The means used foriaccomplishing this purpose comprises apparatus. actuated by an electric motor, and which is controlled by the use of a coin deposited in said apparatus. Once the coin is deposited in the actuating apparatus, a fresh sheet of paper is pulled from the roll located en one side oi-tne toilet-seat into proper position over the latter for use,4 and synchronously therewith a part ofthe roll .on the opposite side of the toilet-seatis. wound upto accomplishthe object in hand. The exact means of accomplishing this will be describedv hereinafter in this specification.

In a device of the class described having liftable toilet-seat and support therefor, a' roll of paper adapted to be drawn from one side of the toilet-seat to the other, means for advancing the said roll of paper across the toilet-seat comprising: an electro-magnet having a core, a hinged armature mounted on the magnet core, a motor having a central pintle, a worm on the pintle, a worm-gear havingv a pintle therethrough, an electric switch and an electric circuit for operating the motor, a coin-actuated mechanism electrically connected with the magnet, a longitudinal sliding rod having a downward extension in engagement with the armature, a spring for holding the said sliding rod in normal position, a revolvably mounted L shaped member adapted to operate the coin-actuating mechanism, means on the worm-gear pintle for revolving the L shaped member, means on the longitudinal sliding rod for operating the switch of g the motor circuit, and means for startingthe electro-magnet mounted on the toilet-seat, actuated by the motion of the toilet-Seat, when lifted from its support.

In a device of the class described, a coin' actuated mechanism comprising a supporting metal plate, a pair of spaced-apart insulated side walls, having a coin-shute formed therebetween, mounted on said metal plate, a top lever, pivotally mounted in said side-walls, a downwardly. -1 projecting rod mounted in said pivoted lever, an
intermediate short lever, pivotally mounted in one of the side walls, a connecting rod between the two foregoing levers, a bottom lever mountedin one 0f the side walls, a connecting rodbetween the short lever and the bottom lever, a coil spring rigidly mounted on one of the side walls and bearing against the free end of the bottom lever, and tending to hold the latter in normal position, a

whereupon after a predetermined time the said means in the actuating mechanism for breaking the motor circuit again operates to stop the 'motor after' its second period' of operation.

A device, of the class described, having a i liftable toilet-seat, aliftable metal plate adapted,v to rest on the top of the toilet-seat, a roll of paper throwing in the switch of the motor circuit, starting the actuating mechanism and winding thel pulling roller, means operated by the roll of paper f or holding the motor circuit switch in closed position, means vfor opening the motor circuit switch and stopping the motor after a predetermined time, means in the toilet-seat for operating the magnet circuit when the toilet-seat is lifted, thereby closing the motor circuit switch and operating the motor and the roller a second time, whereupon after a predetermined time the said means in the actuating mechanism for breaking the magnet circuit and stopping vthe motor again operates after its second period of operation, and braking means in the actuating mechanism for bringing the motor to a positive stop during any period of its operation after the motor circuit has been disconnected.

A device of the class described, comprising a toilet-seat, a metal seat-cover therefor, a roll of paper wound on a rollerr adjacent to the one side of the toilet-seat, a second roller on the opposite side of the toilet-seat for winding the roll of paper thereon, and a coin-operated power actuating means for revolving the latter roller to advance the paper across the top of the toilet-seat,

a' pintle mounted therein, a depending member pivotally mounted on the same, a horizontal brakeshoe, pivotally connected to the depending member, a link-bar pivotally connected to thel brakeshoe and to the armature ofthe actuating mechanism, and a. horizontal disc on the motor adaptedto be engaged by the brakeshoe for positively stopping the actuating mechanism after the electric circuit operating same has been disconnected therefrom.

A device of the class described comprising a toilet-seat, a metal seat-cover therefor, a roll of paper adapted to slide over the metal seatcover, having alternately therein an apertured open space, and a portion of paper, a pair of opposed strips of tape mounted on the paper of the roll, providing a means of drawing the roll across the toilet-seat, a roller at one side of the toilet-seat on which the roll of paper is primarily mounted, a second roller mounted on the opposite side of the toilet-seat for drawing the roll of paper forward, a coin-actuated power-actuating mechanism for revolving the last-named roller, comprising an electromagnet, an armature for said magnet, a motor having a stem, a worm on said stem, a worm-gear in meshed engagement with the worm, a pintle on which the worm-gear is mounted in engagement with the winding roller of the paper roll, an electric circuit for operating the actuating mechanism, a coin-actuated mechanism electrically connected with the electro-magnet for operating the latter, and means for starting the motor connected with the armature of the electro-magnet, means cooperating with the roll of paper for stopping the motor and for releasing the armature from the electro-magnet and returning said armature to its normal position atA a' distance froxnthe magnet, a brakingmeans for positively stopping the motor, after the electric motor circuit has been broken, comprising: a pintle mounted in the actuating mechanism, a depending member, a link-bar pivotally `connecting the brakeshoe and thearmature, and a horizontal disc mounted on the motor adapted'to be engaged by said brakeshoe.
