'llhe object of my invention, generally stated, is to provide a set of blocks adapted for assembly to build a` wide Variety of structures oi ornamental artistic appearance for use in connection with window displays to set ofi the goods and support the same at different levels in artistic arrangement.
'lio the accomplishment of the above, and other objects presently appearing, my invention cornprises a plurality of pairs of complemental blocks ci uniform thickness and graduated sizes as regards length and widths, each oi which is formed with a stepped side edge, a straight side edge, and straight ends, the stepped side edge oi any bloclt interrltting with the corresponding side edge of another block so that said blocks may be assembled to build up stepped columns, arches, or similar structures, or, assembled either in side by side or stacked relation to build stepped structures, or assembled in pairs to form oblong block units, a plurality of pairs of flat segmental bloclrs ol graduated sizes for building steps of segmental semi-circular or circular form and having straight sides for fitting together in pairs or for assembly with said stepped blocks to form rounded shoulders at the ends of stepped structures formed by said stepped blocks, and flat rectangular blocks for nlling in steps of these stepped bloclrs or ior use as extensions oi said stepped bloclrs.

Referring to the drawings, l designates a pair oi stepped blocks of my invention, i a pair of the stepped blocks of the next smaller size, il a pair of such blocks of the next smaller size, and d a pair of said blocks of the smallest size. The blocks l, 2, t and l are of the same and uniform thickness and each is provided with a stepped side edge d, a straight side edge t and straight ends l, the steps in each instance being of the saine depth and width so that the blocks of each pair may be intertted to iorrn an oblong unit and said steps being oi' the same width as the thickness of the bloclrs so that blocks oi difierent pairs may be nicely inteintted in right angular relation.
The pairs of quadrant blocks of successively smaller sizes are designated il, il, lll, il and l2, respectively. Each of the quadrant blocks is provided Witha curved side edge lll formed in m the aro ci a circle and straight right angularly related straight side edges ill and lll. Said. quadrant bloclrs are of the same thickness as the stepped blocks and their straight side edges lil and lli correspond in length to the width of the stepped blocks at their larger ends whereby said quadrant blocks may be positioned ilush against said ends of the stepped bloclrs to form rounded continuations thereof. The rectangular flat bloclrs lli are of the proper size and thickness to r lill in the stepped blocks and lit :Hush with the sides of said blocks. As above described the invention comprises a stepped block adapted to be combined to form structures with other similar bloclsshaving the saine or less or a greater number of the same size steps, each block being of such thickness as to correspond to the offset of each step and the top surface of each step being rectangular. The quadrant blocks are of the same thickness as the stepped blocks and as shown in Figure 1 may be interfltted with the stepped blocks as well'as being adapted to be arranged to support the latter in right angular relation, as shown in Figure 1.
Manifestly a set of blocks having the features such as described in the foregoing may be assembled to form a wide variety of structures of artistic and ornamental design other than those illustrated in the drawings, but it has not been considered necessary to a proper understanding of the invention to further illustrate their use and other structres which may be built with said blocks.
Although I have described my improved set of blocks as comprising pairs of stepped blocks, it is to be understood that the invention is not to be construed as limited to single pairs of blocks.
Right is herein reserved to modifications in the described details of the invention falling within the scope of the appended claims.
What I claim is:
1. Building block construction for use in building up displays in show Windows and the lik comprising a stepped block adapted to be combined to form structures with other similar blocks having the same or a less or a greater number of the same size steps, each block having a stepped side Iedge, a straight side edge, and straight ends, the stepped side edges of each block interfltting with the corresponding edges of the others, the thickness of each block corresponding to the offset of each step, and the top surface of each step being rectangular whereby the blocks may be nicely fitted in right angular relation.
2. Building block construction for use in building up displays in show windows and the like comprising a stepped block adapted to be combined to form structures with other similar blocks having the same or a less or a greater number of the same size steps, each block having a stepped side edge, a straight side edge, and straight ends, the stepped side edges of each block interttng with the corresponding edges of the others, the thickness of each block corresponding to the oilset of each step, the top surface of each step being rectangular whereby the blocks may be nicely tted in right angular relation, and a quadrant block adapted to be combined to form structures with other similar quadrant blocks and with the stepped blocks, the quadrant blocks being of the same thickness as the stepped blocks and having at top and bottom surfaces whereby both the stepped blocks and the quadrant blocks may be fitted in right angular relation.
