Abstract
A wearable mobile device holder, including a main body, including a palm wrap removably connected to at least a portion of a hand of a user to wrap around at least a portion of at least one of a palm and a dorsal side of the hand, and a wrist wrap disposed on at least a portion of the palm wrap and removably connected to at least a portion of a wrist of the user to prevent the palm wrap from falling off the palm, and a magnetic device disposed within at least portion of the palm wrap to magnetically connect a mobile device thereto.
Description
- This application claims priority under 35 USC § 120 from U.S. Provisional Application No. 63/281,115, entitled “Wearable Mobile Device Holder,” which was filed on Nov. 19, 2021, in the United States Patent and Trademark Office, the disclosure of which is incorporated herein in its entirety by reference.
- The present general inventive concept relates generally to a holder, and particularly, to a wearable mobile device holder.
- Mobile devices have important applications in society, whether for professional, personal, and/or entertainment use. However, many people break a screen on a mobile device and/or damage a body of the mobile device as a consequence of the mobile device slipping from people's hands and falling hard onto the floor. These types of incidents are common enough that some businesses have formed solely around repairing the mobile device. Generally, repairing the mobile device is costly, especially screen replacement and may take a large amount of time to fix.
- The primary method of using of mobile devices requires being held in the hand of a user. There have been some attempts to improve grip on the mobile device, such as a popping grip, a case, and a selfie stick. Unsurprisingly, these improvements also rely on the user's ability to keep a steady hand.
- Therefore, there is a need for a wearable mobile device holder that attaches to the mobile device and does not rely on the user keeping a steady grip on the mobile device.
- The present general inventive concept provides a wearable mobile device holder.
- Additional features and utilities of the present general inventive concept will be set forth in part in the description which follows and, in part, will be obvious from the description, or may be learned by practice of the general inventive concept.
- The foregoing and/or other features and utilities of the present general inventive concept may be achieved by providing a wearable mobile device holder, including a main body, including a palm wrap removably connected to at least a portion of a hand of a user to wrap around at least a portion of at least one of a palm and a dorsal side of the hand, and a wrist wrap disposed on at least a portion of the palm wrap and removably connected to at least a portion of a wrist of the user to prevent the palm wrap from falling off the palm, and a magnetic device disposed within at least portion of the palm wrap to magnetically connect a mobile device thereto.
- The main body may further include a thumb wrap disposed on at least a portion of the palm wrap and removably connected to at least a portion of a thumb of the user to prevent the palm wrap from moving toward each finger of the hand.
- The magnetic device may be disposed across a length of the palm wrap corresponding to a portion of the palm wrap covering the palm of the hand.
- The magnetic device may at least partially adjust a polarity thereof in response to depressing a button, such that the mobile device rotates in response to a change in the polarity.

wrist wrap 112 may be disposed on at least a portion of thepalm wrap 111 and/or removably connected to at least a portion of the hand of the user. More specifically, thewrist wrap 112 may wrap around at least a portion of a wrist of the user. As such, thewrist wrap 112 may prevent thepalm wrap 111 from falling off the palm and/or the dorsal side of thehand 10 while thepalm wrap 111 is disposed on thehand 10. - The
thumb wrap 113 may be disposed on at least a portion of thepalm wrap 111 and/or removably connected to at least a portion of the hand of the user. More specifically, thethumb wrap 113 may wrap around at least a portion of a thumb of the user. As such, thethumb wrap 113 may prevent thepalm wrap 111 from moving toward each finger of thehand 10 while thepalm wrap 111 is disposed on thehand 10. - The
magnetic device 120 may include a magnet and an electromagnet (e.g., iron alloy with a coil of wire and a battery), but is not limited thereto. - Referring again to
FIGS. 1A and 1B , themagnetic device 120 is illustrated to be disposed within a center of thepalm wrap 111 covering the palm of thehand 10. However, themagnetic device 120 may be disposed across a length of thepalm wrap 111 corresponding to a portion of thepalm wrap 111 covering the palm of thehand 10. Themagnetic device 120 may receive and/or connect to a mobile device 20 (e.g., a cell phone, a tablet, a personal digital assistant (PDA), etc.) in response to attracting themobile device 20 thereto. In other words, themagnetic device 120 may magnetically connect themobile device 20 to any portion of themagnetic device 120. As such, for example, themagnetic device 120 may secure themobile device 20 to the palm of thehand 10, such that thehand 10 may avoid gripping themobile device 20. - Furthermore, the
magnetic device 120 as an electromagnetic may include a button to at least partially adjust a polarity thereof in response to being depressed, such that themobile device 20 may rotate in response to a change in the polarity. As such, themagnetic device 120 may rotate themobile device 20 in absence of an application of force (e.g., pushing, pulling) from the user. - Therefore, the wearable
mobile device holder 100 may secure the mobile device to thehand 10 of the user without requiring the user to hold themobile device 20. Accordingly, the wearablemobile device holder 100 may facilitate gripping without the user consciously holding themobile device 20, such that the user may keep thehand 10 free without worry of dropping themobile device 20. Thus, the user may call, text, play games, watch videos, and/or jog using one hand without worry of themobile device 20 being damaged. -

mobile device holder 200 may be constructed from at least one of metal, plastic, cloth, spandex, lycra, elastane, nylon, and rubber, etc., but is not limited thereto. - The wearable
mobile device holder 200 may include amain body 210 and amagnetic device 220, but is not limited thereto. - The
main body 210 may be constructed as a wrap, a band, a strap, and a cord, but is not limited thereto. Moreover, themain body 210 may have a fixed size based on a size of a user. More specifically, themain body 210 may be constructed for an adult (e.g., small, medium, large, extra large) or a child (e.g., two-year-old toddler to teenager). Alternatively, themain body 210 may be a one-size fits all. Themain body 210 may be elastic, such that themain body 210 may at least partially deform (i.e., bend, stretch, expand) in response to being worn. Also, themain body 210 may be disposed on either a left hand or a right hand. - The
main body 210 may include apalm wrap 211 and a wrist wrap 122, but is not limited thereto. - Referring to
FIGS. 2A and 2B , thepalm wrap 211 may be removably connected to at least a portion of ahand 10 of the user. More specifically, thepalm wrap 211 may wrap around at least a portion of a palm and/or a dorsal side of thehand 10 opposite with respect to the palm. Additionally, a first portion of thepalm wrap 211 may cross over a second portion of thepalm wrap 211 to create a tighter (i.e., closer) connection to thehand 10 of the user. - The
wrist wrap 212 may be disposed on at least a portion of thepalm wrap 211 and/or removably connected to at least a portion of the hand of the user. More specifically, thewrist wrap 212 may wrap around at least a portion of a wrist of the user. As such, thewrist wrap 212 may prevent thepalm wrap 211 from falling off the palm and/or the dorsal side of thehand 10 while thepalm wrap 211 is disposed on thehand 10. - It is important to note that the wearable
mobile device holder 200 differs from the wearablemobile device holder 100 due to an absence of thethumb wrap 113. This may be preferred by the user who has an injured thumb and/or has arthritis in thumb and/or finger joints. - The
magnetic device 220 may include a magnet and an electromagnet (e.g., iron alloy with a coil of wire and a battery), but is not limited thereto. - Referring again to
FIGS. 2A and 2B , themagnetic device 220 is illustrated to be disposed within a center of thepalm wrap 211 covering the palm of thehand 10. However, themagnetic device 220 may be disposed across a length of thepalm wrap 211 corresponding to a portion of thepalm wrap 211 covering the palm of thehand 10. Themagnetic device 220 may receive and/or connect to a mobile device 20 (e.g., a cell phone, a tablet, a personal digital assistant (PDA), etc.) in response to attracting themobile device 20 thereto. In other words, themagnetic device 220 may magnetically connect themobile device 20 to any portion of themagnetic device 220. As such, for example, themagnetic device 220 may secure themobile device 20 to the palm of thehand 10, such that thehand 10 may avoid gripping themobile device 20. - Furthermore, the
magnetic device 220 as an electromagnetic may include a button to at least partially adjust a polarity thereof in response to being depressed, such that themobile device 20 may rotate in response to a change in the polarity. As such, themagnetic device 220 may rotate themobile device 20 in absence of an application of force (e.g., pushing, pulling) from the user. - Therefore, the wearable
mobile device holder 200 may secure the mobile device to thehand 10 of the user without requiring the user to hold themobile device 20. Accordingly, the wearablemobile device holder 200 may facilitate gripping without the user consciously holding themobile device 20, such that the user may keep thehand 10 free without worry of dropping themobile device 20. Thus, the user may call, text, play games, watch videos, and/or jog using one hand without worry of themobile device 20 being damaged. - The present general inventive concept may include a wearable
mobile device holder 100, including amain body 110, including apalm wrap 111 removably connected to at least a portion of ahand 10 of a user to wrap around at least a portion of at least one of a palm and a dorsal side of thehand 10, and awrist wrap 112 disposed on at least a portion of thepalm wrap 111 and removably connected to at least a portion of a wrist of the user to prevent thepalm wrap 111 from falling off the palm, and amagnetic device 120 disposed within at least portion of thepalm wrap 111 to magnetically connect amobile device 20 thereto. - The
main body 110 may further include athumb wrap 113 disposed on at least a portion of thepalm wrap 111 and removably connected to at least a portion of a thumb of the user to prevent thepalm wrap 111 from moving toward each finger of thehand 10. - The
magnetic device 120 may be disposed across a length of thepalm wrap 111 corresponding to a portion of the palm wrap covering the palm of thehand 10. - The
magnetic device 120 may at least partially adjust a polarity thereof in response to depressing a button, such that themobile device 20 rotates in response to a change in the polarity. - Although a few embodiments of the present general inventive concept have been shown and described, it will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that changes may be made in these embodiments without departing from the principles and spirit of the general inventive concept, the scope of which is defined in the appended claims and their equivalents.
Claims (4)
1. A wearable mobile device holder, comprising:
a main body, comprising:
a palm wrap removably connected to at least a portion of a hand of a user to wrap around at least a portion of at least one of a palm and a dorsal side of the hand, and
a wrist wrap disposed on at least a portion of the palm wrap and removably connected to at least a portion of a wrist of the user to prevent the palm wrap from falling off the palm; and
a magnetic device disposed within at least portion of the palm wrap to magnetically connect a mobile device thereto.
2. The wearable mobile device holder of claim 1 , wherein the main body further comprises:
a thumb wrap disposed on at least a portion of the palm wrap and removably connected to at least a portion of a thumb of the user to prevent the palm wrap from moving toward each finger of the hand.
3. The wearable mobile device holder of claim 1 , wherein the magnetic device is disposed across a length of the palm wrap corresponding to a portion of the palm wrap covering the palm of the hand.
4. The wearable mobile device holder of claim 1 , wherein the magnetic device at least partially adjusts a polarity thereof in response to depressing a button, such that the mobile device rotates in response to a change in the polarity.
