The prior art discloses a method of folding a pillow into a compact bag for carrying the pillow.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a pair of pouches. Each of the pouches has a width that is greater than a length of the pouches such that each of the pouches has a rectangular shape to accommodate a sleeping pillow. Each of the pouches has an entrance extending into the pouches to facilitate the sleeping pillows to be inserted into the pouches. A pair of closures is provided and each of the closures is movably integrated into a respective one of the pouches for opening and closing the entrance in the respective pouch. A strap is coupled between the pouches and the strap can be worn over a user's shoulder for carrying the pillows stored in the pouches.

FIG. 1 is a top perspective view of a pillow carrying assembly according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a top phantom view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 3 is a bottom view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a top view of an alternative embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 5 is a perspective in-use view of an embodiment of the disclosure. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new carrying device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 5 , thepillow carrying assembly 10 generally comprises a pair ofpouches 12 that each has a width that is greater than a length of thepouches 12 such that each of thepouches 12 has a rectangular shape to accommodate apillow 14. Thepillow 14 may be a sleeping pillow of any conventional size and design. Moreover, each of thepouches 12 may have a length ranging between approximately 34.0 inches and 38.0 inches and a width ranging between approximately 18.0 inches and 22.0 inches. Each of thepouches 12 has anentrance 16 extending into thepouches 12 to facilitate thepillow 14 to be inserted into thepouches 12. - Each of the
pouches 12 has afirst end 18, asecond end 20 and anouter wall 22 extending between thefirst end 18 and thesecond end 20, and theouter wall 22 has atop side 24, abottom side 26, afront side 28 and aback side 30. Each of thepouches 12 is elongated between thefirst end 18 and thesecond end 20, and each of thefront side 28 and theback side 30 of theouter wall 22 of each of thepouches 12 is curved such that each of thepouches 12 has an ovoid cross section taken along a line extending through thefirst end 18 and thesecond end 20. Furthermore, a distance between thetop side 24 and thebottom side 26 of theouter wall 22 is less than a distance between thefront side 28 and theback side 30 of theouter wall 22. Theentrance 16 associated with each of thepouches 12 extends through thetop side 24 of theouter wall 22, and theentrance 16 associated with each of thepouches 12 extends substantially between thefirst end 18 and thesecond end 20. Additionally, theentrance 16 associated with each of thepouches 12 is positioned adjacent to thefront side 28 of theouter wall 22. - A pair of
closures 32 is each movably integrated into a respective one of thepouches 12. Each of theclosures 32 is aligned with theentrance 16 in therespective pouch 12 for opening and closing theentrance 16 in therespective pouch 12. Each of theclosures 32 includes a first portion 34 and a second portion 36. The first portion 34 is matable to the second portion 36 for closing theentrance 16, and the first portion 34 is unmatable to the second portion 36 for opening theentrance 16. Each of theclosures 32 might comprise a zipper, complementary hook and loop fasteners or other type of multiple use closure. - A
strap 38 is coupled between thepouches 12 such that thestrap 38 can be worn over a user'sshoulder 40 for carrying thepillow 14 stored in each of thepouches 12. Thestrap 38 has aprimary end 42 and asecondary end 44, and each of theprimary end 42 and thesecondary end 44 is coupled to thebottom side 26 of theouter wall 22 of a respective one of thepouches 12. Additionally, thestrap 38 is centrally positioned along thefront side 28 of theouter wall 22. - In an alternative embodiment 46 as is most clearly shown in
FIG. 4 , thestrap 38 is divided into afirst end section 48, asecond end section 50 and amiddle section 52. Themiddle section 52 has afirst end 54 and asecond end 56, each of thefirst end section 48 and thesecond end section 50 has adistal end 58 with respect to thefront side 28 of theouter wall 22 of therespective pouch 12. Continuing in the alternative embodiment 46, a pair offirst couplers 60 is each coupled to thedistal end 58 of a respective one of thefirst end 18 section and thesecond end 20 section. A pair ofsecond couplers 62 is each coupled to a respective one of thefirst end 18 and thesecond end 20 of themiddle section 52. Additionally, each of thesecond couplers 62 is matable to a respective one of thefirst couplers 60 for attaching thepouches 12 together. Each of thefirst couplers 60 and thesecond couplers 62 might comprise a complementary buckle or the like for releasably engaging each other. - In use, each
pillow 14 is inserted into a respective one of thepouches 12 and each of theclosures 32 is closed. Thestrap 38 is worn over the user'sshoulder 40 for suspending each of thepouches 12 from the user'sshoulder 40. In this way eachpillow 14 can be carried while travelling, for example, without needing to place thepillows 14 in a suitcase or other article of luggage. Eachpillow 14 is removed from therespective pouches 12 prior to employing thepillows 14 for sleeping. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
