Abstract

The present disclosure is a wine bottle and glass carrier that has a housing with a cylindrical center module and one or more glass housings for retaining glasses, the glass housing is coupled to a sidewall of the cylindrical center module at a bottom end of the cylindrical center module. The cylindrical center module comprising an opening on a top end of the cylindrical center module. The wine bottle and glass carrier also has a bucket insert sized and adapted for insertion into the opening on the top end of the cylindrical center module, the insert has a top opening for receiving a wine bottle and retaining the bottle for use or transport.

Description

    BACKGROUND
  • At parties or other types of events, attendees often bring wine to be shared by the participants of the event. Oftentimes, attendees also bring glasses in which to serve the wine. When served to participants at the event, an attendee needs a glass in which to put his/her wine, which may not be available.
  • Sometimes individuals go to events that are outside, for example. To the event, the individual may desire to bring wine. However, at the event no wine glasses may be available.

  • The present disclosure describes a wine bottle and glass carrier in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The wine bottle and glass carrier comprises a generally cylindrical housing and the housing has substantially cylindrical protrusions used as glass holders. Also, coupled to the cylindrical housing are two straps that are attached at a bottom of the cylindrical housing, extend over the cylindrical housing, and cross at the top of the cylindrical housing at ninety-degree angles. The straps extend downward to attach to opposing sides of the cylindrical housing. The cylindrical housing further comprises an opening on a top of the general cylindrical housing.
  • The opening receives a cylindrical bucket insert. The plastic cylindrical housing is open on a top end and closed on a bottom end. The opening on the top end is for receiving a bottle of wine. Within the cylindrical bucket insert are a plurality of substantially rectangular protrusions that extend outwardly toward the center of the cylindrical bucket insert and extend laterally from near the opening of the cylindrical bucket insert to near the bottom of the cylindrical bucket insert. The substantially rectangular protrusions are sized and arranged to make supportive contact with a wine bottle within the cylindrical bucket insert. Note that within the cylindrical bucket insert between the substantially rectangular protrusions there is open space that is configured and arranged to hold ice or a wine bottle opener.
  • FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a wine bottle and glass carrier 100 in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The wine bottle and glass carrier 100 comprises a housing 150. Note that the housing 150 may be comprised of fabric, but fabric is merely an exemplary material out of which the housing 150 may be made. It made be made using other materials in other embodiments. Further note that the housing is cylindrical, but the housing could be other shapes in other embodiments of the wine bottle and glass carrier 100.
  • The housing 150 comprises a cylindrical central module 151. In one embodiment, the cylindrical central module 151 is comprised of fabric, e.g., cotton canvas; however, the cylindrical central module 151 may be comprised of other materials in other embodiments. For example, the cylindrical central module 151 may be comprised of waxed canvas or other materials. The cylindrical central module 151 has a circular cross-section that extends in a complete circle. In one embodiment, a bottom 112 of the housing 150 has a bottom covering (not shown) that encloses the cylindrical central module 151 on the bottom 112. Note that the central module 151 is shown as cylindrical, but it could be other shapes in other embodiments.
  • Further, the cylindrical central module 151 comprises a circular opening 101. The circular opening 101 is on a top 153 of the cylindrical central module 151. The circular opening 101 is sized and adapted for receiving a cylindrical bucket insert 122. The cylindrical bucket insert 122 is sized and adapted for insertion into the opening 101 such that a bottom (not shown) of the cylindrical bucket insert 122 is adjacent the bottom 112 of the cylindrical central module 151 when fully inserted in the cylindrical central module 151. The cylindrical bucket inserts 122 is cylindrical and is sized and adapted for insertion into the opening 101 of the cylindrical central module 151. The cylindrical bucket insert 122 comprises an opening 152 for receiving a wine bottle (not shown). Note that they cylindrical bucket insert 122 may be made of plastic, but it may be made of other materials in other embodiments.
  • In one embodiment, the cylindrical bucket insert 122 is removable from the cylindrical central module 151. In such an embodiment the cylindrical bucket insert 122 may be removed from the cylindrical central module 151 and washed separately form the housing 150. In another embodiment, the cylindrical bucket insert 122 may be fixedly coupled to the inside surface of the cylindrical central module 151.
  • The housing 150 further comprises a plurality of glass holders 102-105 coupled to an outside sidewall of the cylindrical central module 151 at a bottom end of the cylindrical central module 151. The glass holders 102-105 are substantially cylindrical protrusions that are adapted and arranged for receiving glasses 118-121. In this regard, each glass holder 102-105 comprises a substantially circular opening 114-117, respectively. Note that in one embodiment, the wine glasses 118-121 are stemless wine glasses.
  • However, where the glass holders 102-105 couple to the cylindrical central module 151, there are curvatures 191 and 192 that curve inward in the glass holder 102, curvatures 107 and 108 that curve inward in the glass holder 103, and curvatures 193 and 194 that curve inward in the glass holder 104. The inward curvatures 191 and 192, 107 and 108, and 193 and 194 wrap around and position the edges of the glass holders 102-105 to be stitched to the cylindrical central module 151. Also, the curvatures 191 and 192, 107 and 108, and 193 and 194 more snugly grasp the glasses 118-121. Further note that the curvatures of the glass holder 105 are not shown in FIG. 1 due to the field of view of FIG. 1.
  • The glasses 118-121 fit into the glass holders 102-105 by inserting the glasses 118-121 into the openings 114-117, respectively. Note that in one embodiment, each glass holder has a closed bottom 156-158 that retain the glasses 118-120 in the glass holders 102-104. Note that glass holder 105 further comprises a similar closed bottom (not shown) that retains the glass 121, which is not shown in FIG. 1.
  • Each glass holder 102-105 is coupled to the cylindrical central module 151. In one embodiment, each glass holder 102-105 is stitched to the cylindrical central module 151 on each side of each glass holder 102-105. FIG. 1 shows glass holder stitches 160 that couple the glass holder 103 to the cylindrical central module 151. Similar stitches (not shown) are on the other side of the glass holder 103 and similar stitches on a bottom 157 to couple the glass holder 103 to the cylindrical central module 151.
  • Similarly, FIG. 1 shows glass holder stitches 161 that couple the glass holder 104 to the cylindrical central module 151. Similar stitches (not shown) are on the other side of the glass holder 104 and similar stitches on a bottom 158 to couple the glass holder 104 to the cylindrical central module 151.
  • In one embodiment, the wine bottle and glass carrier 100 comprises two straps 110 and 111 for grasping the wine bottle and glass carrier 100 and transporting the wine bottle and glass carrier 100. In one embodiment, the straps 110 and 111 are comprised of leather; however, other materials may be used in other embodiments. In this regard, strap 111 couples to the bottom 112 of the housing 150 between glass holders 103 and 104, extends upward, curves over the housing 150 and attaches to the bottom of the housing on the opposing side (not shown) between glass holders 102 and 105.
  • Further, strap 110 couples to the bottom 112 of the housing 150 between glass holders 102 and 103, extends upward, curves over the housing 150 and attaches to the bottom of the housing on the opposing side (not shown) between glass holders 104 and 105. Notably, strap 110 and strap 111 cross over each other over the housing 150 at right angles.
  • The cylindrical bucket insert 122 is substantially cylindrical and creates a substantially cylindrical cavity 180. Note that plastic is merely an exemplary material out of which the insert 122 may be made. It made be made using other materials in other embodiments. As noted herein, the cylindrical bucket insert 122 is adapted and arranged to fit within the top circular opening 101 of the cylindrical central module 151. As noted herein, this cylindrical central module 151 may be made of fabric; however, it may be made of other materials in other embodiments. Once the cylindrical bucket insert 122 is inserted in the opening 101, a top 167 of the cylindrical bucket insert 122 sits flush with the top 153 of the cylindrical central module 151
  • In one embodiment, the cylindrical bucket insert 122 comprises a plurality of spokes 109 within the cylindrical cavity 180. The spokes 109 are coupled to an inside wall 190 of the cylindrical bucket insert 122. The spokes 109 are substantially rectangular having an upper rounded edge on a top of the spoke 109, and each spoke 109 extends horizontally toward the center of the cylindrical cavity 180.
  • The spokes 109 extend vertically from near the top 167 of the cylindrical bucket insert 122 to near the bottom (not shown) of the cylindrical bucket insert 122. The spokes 109 are adapted and arranged so that the spokes 109 snugly contact an outside (not shown) of a wine bottle (not shown) when the wine bottle is inserted in opening 152 and the wine bottle and glass carrier 100 is in transport thereby securing the wine bottle within the cylindrical bucket insert 122. That is, the spokes 109 have a width extending into the cylindrical cavity 180 so that the spokes 109 snugly contact the sides of the wine bottle inserted within the cylindrical cavity 180.
  • As described, the cylindrical bucket insert 122 creates a cylindrical cavity 180, and within the cylindrical cavity 180 are the plurality of spokes 109 for retaining the wine bottle when inserted through opening 152. When a wine bottle is inserted through opening 152 into the cylindrical bucket insert 122, there is space created between the spokes 109, the wine bottle, and the inside wall 190 of the cylindrical bucket insert 122. The space created between the spokes 109, the inside wall 190, and the wine bottle may store items, such as, for example, ice, wine bottle opener, etc.
  • FIG. 2 is a front perspective view of the wine bottle and glass carrier 100 in accordance with an embodiment of the present disclosure. The wine bottle and glass carrier 100 comprises the housing 150 and the cylindrical bucket insert 122. Note that the housing 150 may be made of fabric or other materials in other embodiments, and the cylindrical bucket insert 122 may be made of plastic or other materials in other embodiments.
  • The housing 150 comprises the cylindrical central module 151. The cylindrical central module 151 has a circular cross-section. In one embodiment, a bottom 112 of the cylindrical housing has a bottom circular covering (not shown) that encloses the cylindrical bucket insert 122 in the cylindrical central module 151. Note that the cross-section of the cylindrical central module 151 is circular; however, the cylindrical central module 151 may be other shapes in other embodiments. For example, the cylindrical central module 151 may be rectangular and have a square or rectangular cross-section.
  • Further, the cylindrical central module 151 comprises a circular opening 101. The circular opening 101 is on a top 153 of the cylindrical central module 151. The circular opening 101 is sized and adapted for receiving the cylindrical bucket insert 122. The cylindrical bucket insert 122 is sized and adapted for insertion into the opening 101 such that a bottom (not shown) of the cylindrical bucket insert 122 is adjacent the bottom circular covering (not shown) of the cylindrical central module 151 when fully inserted. The cylindrical bucket insert 122 is cylindrical and is sized and adapted for insertion into the opening 101 of the cylindrical central module 151.
  • The cylindrical bucket insert 122 comprises a cavity 180 that is accessible through the opening 152 of the cylindrical bucket insert 122 at the top 153 of the cylindrical central module 151. The opening 152 is sized to receive a wine bottle (not shown). Within the cavity 180 of the cylindrical bucket insert 122 is a plurality of spokes 200, 109, and 201. Note that only three spokes 200, 109, and 201 are shown. However, there can be additional spokes (not shown) for retaining the wine bottle when inserted through opening 152. When a wine bottle is inserted through opening 152 into the cylindrical bucket insert 122, there is space created between the spokes 109, the wine bottle, and the inside wall 190 of the cylindrical bucket insert 122. The space created between the spokes 109, the inside wall 190, and the wine bottle may store items, such as, for example, ice, wine bottle opener, etc.
  • The housing 150 further comprises the plurality of glass holders 102-105. The glass holders 102-105 are substantially cylindrical protrusions that extend from the cylindrical central module 151. Each glass holder 102-105 comprises a substantially circular opening 114-117, respectively. However, where the glass holders 102-105 couple to the cylindrical central module 151, there are curvatures 191 (FIG. 1) and 192 (FIG. 1) in the glass holder 102, curvatures 107 and 108 in the glass holder 103, and curvatures 193 and 194 in the glass holder 104 to wrap the glass holders 102-105 around to attach to the cylindrical central module 151. Note that the curvatures of the glass holder 105 are not shown in FIG. 2.
  • The glass holders 102-105 are adapted and arranged for receiving glasses 118-121 (FIG. 1). In this regard, each glass holder 102-105 comprises an opening 114-117, respectively. The glasses 118-121 fit into the glass holders 102-105 by inserting the glasses 118-121 into the openings 114-117, respectively. Note that in one embodiment, each glass holder has closed bottoms 156-159 that retain the glasses 118-120 in the glass holders 102-105.
  • Each glass holder 102-105 is coupled to the cylindrical central module 151. In one embodiment, each glass holder 102-105 is stitched to the cylindrical central module 151 on each side of each glass holder 102-105. FIG. 2 shows glass holder stitches 160 (FIG. 1) that couple the glass holder 103 to the cylindrical central module 151. Similar stitches (not shown) are on the other side of the glass holder 103 and on a bottom enclosure 157 to couple the glass holder 103 to the cylindrical central module 151.
  • Similarly, FIG. 2 shows glass holder stitches 161 (FIG. 1) that couple the glass holder 104 to the cylindrical central module 151. Similar stitches (not shown) are on the other side of the glass holder 104 and on a bottom enclosure 158 to couple the glass holder 104 to the cylindrical central module 151.
  • FIG. 3 is a side plan view of the wine bottle and glass carrier 100 retaining a wine bottle 300. The wine bottle and glass carrier 100 comprises the housing 150. The housing 150 comprises the cylindrical central module 151 that is sized and adapted for receiving the cylindrical bucket insert 122. Further, the cylindrical central module 151 comprises the plurality of glass holders 102-104 and 105 (FIG. 1).
  • The plurality of glass holders 102-105 are stitchedly coupled to the cylindrical central module 151. Thus, on each side of each of the glass holders 102-105 there are stitches (not shown) that couple each glass holder 102-105 to the cylindrical central module 151.
  • In this regard, glass holder 102 is stitched to the cylindrical central module 151 via a stitch 311. The side plan view of FIG. 3 does not show a stitch on the opposing side of the glass holder 102; however, there is a stitch on the opposing side of the glass holder 102. Further, the glass holder 102 comprises on its bottom 156 another piece of fabric (not shown) that is stitchedly coupled to the glass holder 102 and the cylindrical central module 151 thereby retaining the glass 118.
  • The glass holder 103 is stitched to the cylindrical central module 151 via a stitches (not shown). The side plan view of FIG. 3 does not show the stitches on either side of the glass holder 103; however, there is a stitch on each side of the glass holder 103 coupling the glass holder 103 to the cylindrical central module 151. Further, the glass holder 103 comprises on its bottom 157 and another piece of fabric (not shown) is stitchedly coupled to the glass holder 103 and the cylindrical central module 151 thereby retaining the glass 119.
  • Additionally, glass holder 104 is stitched to the cylindrical central module 151 via a stitch 310. The side plan view of FIG. 3 does not show a stitch on the opposing side of the glass holder 104; however, there is a stitch on the opposing side of the glass holder 104 that couples the glass holder 104 to the cylindrical central module 151. Further, the glass holder 104 comprises on its bottom 158 another piece of fabric (not shown) that is stitchedly coupled to the glass holder 104 and the cylindrical central module 151 thereby retaining the glass 120.
  • Note that the side plan view of the wine bottle and glass carrier 100 does not show the glass holder 105. However, it is similarly coupled to the cylindrical central module 151. In this regard, glass holder 105 is stitched to the cylindrical central module 151 via stitches on opposing sides of the glass holder 105. Further, the glass holder 105 comprises on its bottom 159 (FIG. 2) another piece of fabric (not shown) that is stitchedly coupled to the glass holder 105 and the cylindrical central module 151 thereby retaining the glass 121 (FIG. 1).
  • The strap 110 is coupled to the bottom 112 of the cylindrical central module 151 between glass holders 102 and 103. The strap 110 extends upwardly and over the cylindrical central module 151 and down the opposing side where it is coupled to the bottom 112 of the cylindrical central module 151 between glass holders 104 and 105 (FIG. 1).
  • The strap 111 is coupled to the bottom 112 of the cylindrical central module 151 between glass holders 103 and 104. The strap 111 extends upwardly and over the cylindrical central module 151 crossing perpendicular to strap 110 and down the opposing side where it is coupled to the bottom 112 of the cylindrical central module 151 between glass holders 102 and 105 (FIG. 1).
  • FIG. 4 is a top plan view of the wine bottle and glass carrier 100. The top plan view shows the cylindrical central module 151 and an opening 101 therein. The opening 101 is sized and adapted for receiving the cylindrical bucket insert 122.
  • The cylindrical bucket insert comprises an opening 152. The wine bottle 300 is inserted into the opening 152.
  • Further, the cylindrical bucket insert comprises spokes 109, 200, 201, 400, 401, and 402. The spokes 109, 200, 201, 400, 401, and 402 are substantially rectangular with a rounded top edge. They have a width such that when the wine bottle 300 is inserted into the cylindrical bucket insert 122, the spokes 109, 200, 201, 400, 401, and 402 snugly contact an outside surface 403 of the wine bottle 300. The snug contact ensures that the wine bottle 300 does not move or fall out of the wine bottle and glass carrier 100 during use and/or transport.
  • The straps 110 and 111 are coupled to the bottom 112 (FIG. 3) of the cylindrical central module 151. The straps 110 and 111 extend upwardly and cross over the cylindrical central module 151 at a ninety-degree angle, one strap 110 relative to the other strap 111. The straps 110 and 111 extend downwardly on an opposing side where they are coupled to the bottom 112 of the cylindrical central module 151. In transport, a user can grasp the intersection 404 of the straps 110 and 111. By grasping the intersection 404 of the straps 110 and 111, the user can safely and securely transport the wine bottle and glass carrier 100.
  • The glass holders 102-105 are coupled to the cylindrical central module 151 via stitching, as described herein. While stitching is shown coupling the glass holders 102-105 to the cylindrical central module 151, other means of coupling the glass holders 102-105 may be used in other embodiments. For example, the glass holders 102-105 may be glued via an epoxy to the cylindrical central module 151.
  • Each glass holder 102-105 receives a glass 118-121, respectively, via openings 114-117, respectively. Thus, during transport, the glasses 118-121 are effectively retained.
  • FIG. 5 is a top plan view of the wine bottle and glass carrier 100. The wine bottle and glass carrier 100 comprises the cylindrical central module 151 and the plurality of glass holders 102-105. Each glass holder 102-105 comprises openings 114-117, respectively. Wine glasses 118-121 (FIG. 4) are stored in the openings 114-117, respectively, for use and for transport.
  • The cylindrical central module 151 comprises an opening 101. The opening 101 is sized and adapted for receiving the cylindrical bucket insert 122. When the cylindrical bucket insert 122 is inserted, the bottom (not shown) of the cylindrical bucket insert 122 is adjacent the bottom of the cylindrical central module 151, and the cylindrical central module 151 securely grasps the cylindrical bucket insert 122. In one embodiment, when the cylindrical bucket insert 122 is inserted into the opening 101, the top 167 of the cylindrical bucket insert 122 is flush with the top 153 of the cylindrical central module 151. In another embodiment, the cylindrical bucket insert 122 may comprise a lip (not shown) that circumferentially protrudes from the cylindrical bucket insert 122. In such an embodiment, the cylindrical central module 151 extends to the lip.
  • In use, the wine bottle 300 is inserted into the cylindrical bucket insert 122. The plurality of spokes 109, 200, 201, 400, 401, and 402 are coupled to the inside wall 190 of the cylindrical bucket insert 122. The spokes 109, 200, 201, 400, 401, and 402 extend outwardly, radially toward the center of the cylindrical bucket insert 122. The spokes 109, 200, 201, 400, 401, and 402 snugly contact the outside surface 403 of the wine bottle 300. Thus, the spokes 109, 200, 201, 400, 401, and 402 retain the wine bottle 300 in the cylindrical bucket insert 122 for use and transport.

Claims (21)

What is claimed is:
1. A wine bottle and glass carrier, comprising:
a housing comprising a center module and one or more glass housings for retaining glasses, the glass housing coupled to a sidewall of the center module at a bottom end of the center module, the center module comprising an opening on a top end of the center module;
a bucket insert sized and adapted for insertion into the opening on the top end of the center module, the insert comprising a top opening for receiving a wine bottle and retaining the bottle for use or transport.
2. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 1, wherein the housing is made of fabric.
3. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 2, wherein the fabric is cotton canvas.
4. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 2, wherein the fabric is waxed canvas.
5. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 1, wherein the glass housings are comprised of felt.
6. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 1, wherein the glass housings are comprised of waxed canvas.
7. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 1, wherein the bucket insert is comprised of plastic.
8. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 1, wherein the bucket insert comprises a plurality of substantially rectangular spokes that extend outward toward a center of the bucket insert.
9. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 8, wherein the spokes are sized and adapted to snugly grasp an outside surface of the wine bottle when the wine bottle is inserted into the bucket insert.
10. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 1, wherein the glass housings are coupled to the cylindrical central module via stitching.
11. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 1, wherein the glass housings are coupled to the cylindrical central module via epoxy.
12. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 1, further comprising a first and second strap.
13. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 1, wherein the first strap is coupled to a bottom of a first side of the central module, extends upwardly parallel with the outside surface of the center module, curves over the housing, extends downwardly parallel with the outside surface of the center module, and couples to the bottom of a second side of the central module.
14. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 13, wherein the second strap is coupled to the bottom of a third side of the central module, extends upwardly parallel with the outside surface of the center module, curves over the housing, extends downwardly parallel with the outside surface of the center module, and couples to the bottom of a fourth side of the central module.
15. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 1, wherein the glass housings are substantially cylindrical.
16. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 15, wherein the glass holder comprises a first curvature that curves inward on a first side of the glass holder and a second curvature that curves inward on a second side of the glass holder so that the glass holder may be more easily coupled to the center module and more snugly retaining the glasses.
17. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 1, wherein the glasses are stemless wine glasses.
18. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 1, wherein the bucket insert is removeable from the center module.
19. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 1, wherein the bucket insert comprises space for storing items when the wine bottle is inserted in the bucket insert.
20. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 1, wherein the center module is cylindrical, and the bucket insert is cylindrical.
21. The wine bottle and glass carrier of claim 1, wherein the center module is rectangular, and the bucket insert is rectangular.
