Abstract
The present invention relates to a sports utility apparatus for protecting a body part comprising, a sleeve for covering hand of a user, an anti-slip rubber band for protecting the sleeve from losing down from hand of the user, number of protection shields for protecting hand of the user from injuries and number of cavities for carrying the protection shield.
Description
- The embodiments herein claim the priority of a U.S. Provisional Pat. App. Ser. No. 62/835,044 filed on Apr. 17, 2019, and the contents of which are included entirely as reference herein.
- The present invention relates to body part protection apparatuses. More specifically, the present invention relates to an apparatus that is capable of protecting hand of user from an injury while playing any sport.
- The awareness towards various sports is increasing day by day. This has also upgraded the standard of the sports. Earlier in cricket or baseball, wearing helmet was not compulsory but after the death of some of the players, it became compulsory to wear a helmet. Introduction of helmets saved many players' life as many a times the ball hit the head of the players. But the players were still in the risk zone as sometimes the ball hits on the hands of the players.
- To overcome the problem of injuries, hand protection gloves were introduced. Hand protection gloves protect the hands of the players from the high speed ball. These gloves are made from PVC and cotton. But due to its thickness, sweating is produced in the hands of the players which results in difficulty to grip a bat.
- JP2019525027A discloses about A wearable textile article for assisting muscular function includes a tubular element made from fabric and comprising a plurality of polymeric materials suitable for being in skin contact with the human body. A band is applied on the inner side of the tubular element. Such a band is placed along a path (P) that is appropriate to overlap the muscle and/or subcutaneous nerve fiber path of the human body when the textile article is worn; it is designed to produce a decompression effect and local stimulation effects of muscle and/or nerve fibers.
- The above described prior art absorb the sweat from the hands of the player but there is a disadvantage that the apparatus does not protect the limb of the player from the high speed ball.
- US20050268365A1 discloses about a baseball catcher's protective sleeve to shield the inner forearm and wrist from short hop and wild pitches. The baseball catcher's protective sleeve is particularly suited for children, and also particularly suited for training and practice. The sleeve comprises an inner and outer tubular shell formed of a stretchable, moisture-absorbent fabric and sewn together with a soft pad conforming to the inner forearm sewn there between in a segmented manner for flexibility and protection. The protective sleeve fits securely around the forearm without slipping or causing discomfort. A tongue extends from the distal end of the sleeve and extends over the distal end of the wearer's palm to extend protection to both the gloved and throwing hand. The baseball catcher's protective sleeve is comfortable, lightweight, flexible, moisture-absorbent, and sufficiently padded to shield the inner forearm and wrist from short hop or wild pitches.
- The prior art discussed in above paragraph protects the players limb from injury but the disadvantage is that the apparatus interrupts the movement of the wrist so the player face difficulty in playing.
- In order to protect the limbs from injuries, sweat and ultraviolet rays of sun, there is a need to develop a wearable apparatus for playing a sport without the risk of being hurt.
- The principal object of the present invention is to overcome the disadvantages of the prior art.
- An object of the present invention is to provide a wearable apparatus for protecting a user's hand from injury while indulging in a sort activity.
- Another object of the present invention is to provide an apparatus for protecting the user's hand from ultraviolet rays of sun.
- Yet another object of present invention is to provide an apparatus for absorbing sweat from the user's hand.
- The foregoing and other objects, features, and advantages of the present invention will become readily apparent upon further review of the following detailed description of the preferred embodiment as illustrated in the accompanying drawings.
- The present invention discloses about a wearable apparatus for protecting a user's hand from injury while facing high speed bowling in cricket, baseball and other similar games. The apparatus protects the hand without interrupting the wrist movement.
- According to an embodiment of the present invention, a sports utility apparatus for protecting a body part comprising, a sleeve is installed in the apparatus for covering hand of a user, an anti-slip rubber band is attached to a first side of the sleeve for protecting the sleeve from loosing down from hand of the user, number of protection shields are placed on a second side of the sleeve for protecting hand of the user from injuries and number of cavities embedded on the second side of the sleeve for carrying the protection shield.
- While the invention has been described and shown with particular reference to the preferred embodiment, it will be apparent that variations might be possible that would fall within the scope of the present invention.

FIG. 2 illustrates a perspective view of the sport utility apparatus for protecting a body part. - The following description includes the preferred best mode of one embodiment of the present invention. It will be clear from this description of the invention that the invention is not limited to these illustrated embodiments but that the invention also includes a variety of modifications and embodiments thereto. Therefore the present description should be seen as illustrative and not limiting. While the invention is susceptible to various modifications and alternative constructions, it should be understood, that there is no intention to limit the invention to the specific form disclosed, but, on the contrary, the invention is to cover all modifications, alternative constructions, and equivalents falling within the spirit and scope of the invention as defined in the claims.
- In any embodiment described herein, the open-ended terms “comprising,” “comprises,” and the like (which are synonymous with “including,” “having” and “characterized by”) may be replaced by the respective partially closed phrases “consisting essentially of,” “consists essentially of,” and the like or the respective closed phrases “consisting of,” “consists of,” the like.
- As used herein, the singular forms “a,” “an,” and “the” designate both the singular and the plural, unless expressly stated to designate the singular only.
- The present talks about a wearable apparatus for protecting limb from the injury while playing a sport like cricket or baseball. The apparatus absorb the sweat from the user's hand and also insulate the skin from ultraviolet rays of sun.
- Referring to
FIG. 1 , illustrates schematic view of the sports utility apparatus for protecting a body part, wherein the apparatus comprises, asleeve 100 installed in the apparatus for covering hand of the user. Thesleeve 100 basically covers the hand from above the elbow to the palm of the hand. The fingers of the user are kept uncovered to make the user feel comfortable while gripping a bat. - The fabric used in making the
sleeve 100 is basically a mixture of polyester and elastane. This fabric also protect the skin from harmful ultraviolet rays as the fabric is UPF 50+ which means it allows only 2% of ultraviolet rays to pass through it. The fabric may manufacture in different colors. - The nature of this fabric of the
sleeve 100 is very elastic because of that it grips the hand tightly and fits to all size of hands. The sleeve sticks to the hand strongly which save the user from muscle cramp during the sport activity. Thesleeve 100 does not cover the wrist area of the hand of the user, due to that the user does not face difficulty in performing any type of wrist movement. - An
anti-slip rubber band 101 is attached to a first side of thesleeve 100. The first side is preferably the top side of the sleeve. Theanti-slip rubber band 101 protects thesleeve 100 from loosing down from the hand of the user. To wear thesleeve 100, the user needs to insert his/her hand from the first side of thesleeve 100 and take it out from the third side. The third side is preferably the bottom side of thesleeve 100. The fingers of the user come out from the bottom side of thesleeve 100. - Referring to
FIG. 2 , illustrates perspective view of the sports utility apparatus for protecting a body part, wherein the apparatus comprises, numbers ofprotection shields 102 are placed on the second side of thesleeve 100. The protection shields 102 are placed to protect the user hands from injury during the sport. Theprotection shield 102 is preferably made up of graphite. The graphite is very light in weight and very strong which helps the user in moving the hand easily and also protect the hand from high speed ball. - The bonding in graphite is in such a way that each carbon atom uses three of its electron to form simple bonds to its three close neighbors. That leaves a fourth electron in the bonding level. These spare electron in each carbon atom become de-localized over the whole of the sheet of the atom in one year.
- They are no longer directly in contact with any particular atom or pair of atoms, but are free to wonder throughout the whole sheet. The important thing the de-localized electron are free to move anywhere in the sheet, each electron is no longer fix to a particular carbon atom, there is, however no direct contact between the de-localized electron in one sheet and those in the neighboring sheets.
- Numbers of
cavities 103 are embedded on the second side of thesleeve 100. The second side is preferably the back side of thesleeve 100. Thecavities 103 are to carry the protection shields 102. One of theshield 102 protects the back side of the palm of the user and another shield protects the wrist bone of the user. - The risk of being injured in a sport is reduced as the apparatus keep the user protected from high speed balls and due to the presence of graphite, the shock generated by the ball striking with the hand of the user in high speed is absorbed by the shield 3. Moreover the apparatus also protect the user from harmful ultraviolet rays coming from the sun.
- Although the field of the invention has been described herein with limited reference to specific embodiments, this description is not meant to be construed in a limiting sense. Various modifications of the disclosed embodiments, as well as alternate embodiments of the invention, will become apparent to persons skilled in the art upon reference to the description of the invention.
Claims (8)
1) A sports utility apparatus for protecting body, comprising;
a) a sleeve installed in said apparatus for covering hand of a user;
b) an anti-slip rubber band attached to a first side of said sleeve to protect said sleeve from loosing down from hand of said user;
c) plurality of protection shields placed on a second side of said sleeve for protecting hand of said user from injuries;
d) plurality of cavities embedded on said second side of said sleeve for carrying said protection shield;
2) The apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said sleeve covers hand of said user from upper part of elbow to palm of said user.
3) The apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said first side is preferably top side of said sleeve, wherein said sleeve is worn from said first side.
4) The apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said second side is back side of said sleeve.
5) The apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , wherein said protection shield is preferably made up of graphite.
6) The apparatus as claimed in claim 1 , wherein fabric of said sleeve protects said user's skin from ultraviolet rays of sun.
7) The apparatus as claimed in claim 6 , wherein said fabric is made by a mixture of polyester and elastane.
8) The apparatus as claimed in claim 6 , wherein an empty space is provided on wrist area of hand of said user to provide free movement to said wrist.
