Abstract

Implementations of a hair styling tool with a removable cosmetic jar are provided. The hair styling tool may comprise a styling head connected to an elongated handle by a cylindrical shaft, and a cosmetic jar that is threadedly secured to the base of the handle. The cosmetic jar is configured to store hair cream, lotion, or another cosmetic product therein. In some implementations, the hair styling tool may include a brush portion and a comb portion positioned on opposite sides of the styling head. In this way, depending on the type of hair and/or style, the user may select the appropriate styling tool (i.e., the brush portion or the comb portion) for styling their hair.

Description

    CROSS REFERENCE TO RELATED APPLICATION
  • This application claims the benefit of U.S. Provisional Application Ser. No. 62/610,561, which was filed on Dec. 27, 2017, and is incorporated herein by reference in its entirety.
  • TECHNICAL FIELD
  • This disclosure relates to implementations of a hair styling tool with a removable cosmetic jar.
  • BACKGROUND
  • The fashioning of hair is an aspect of personal grooming that is common throughout the world. Frequently, hairbrushes and combs are used to detangle and style hair. The type of brush and/or comb used to complete a particular hairstyle is selected based on the how the hair is to be styled, the presence of hair tangles, length of hair, hair thickness, etc. As such, many individuals find the need to use more than one hair styling tool. Further, many hair styles require the use of a cosmetic product such as hair cream, hair gel, etc.
  • Therefore, a person might need to carry a wide assortment of styling tools and cosmetic products to style their hair and/or to maintain their hairstyle. This can lead to problems such as countertop or handbag clutter, and misplaced styling tools and cosmetic products.
  • Accordingly, it can be seen that needs exist for the hair styling tool with a removable cosmetic jar disclosed herein. It is to the provision of a hair styling tool with a removable cosmetic jar that is configured to address these needs, and others, that the present invention in primarily directed.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • Implementations of a hair styling tool with a removable cosmetic jar are provided. The hair styling tool may comprise a styling head connected to an elongated handle by a cylindrical shaft, and a cosmetic jar that is threadedly secured to the base of the handle. In some implementations, the hair styling tool may include a brush portion and a comb portion positioned on opposite sides of the styling head. In this way, depending on the type of hair and/or style, the user may select the appropriate styling tool (i.e., the brush portion or the comb portion) for manipulating their hair.
  • In some implementations, the brush portion may comprise grouped bristles that extend from a first exterior surface of the styling head and the comb portion may comprise a series of single and spaced apart teeth which extend from a second exterior surface of the styling head.
  • In some implementations, the base of the handle may include a recess therein that is configured to threadedly engage with a proximal end of the cosmetic jar. In this way, the cosmetic jar may be threadedly secured to the base of the handle.
  • In some implementations, the cosmetic jar may comprise a bottom having a cylindrical sidewall extending upwardly therefrom, the proximal end of the sidewall being threaded. An interior space for containing a cosmetic product is defined by the bottom and cylindrical sidewall of the cosmetic jar.

  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • FIGS. 1-8 illustrate an example hair styling tool 100 with a removable cosmetic jar according to the principles of the present disclosure. In some implementations, the hair styling tool 100 can be used to brush, comb, and style hair. In some implementations, the hair styling tool 100 may include a brush portion 112 and a comb portion 118 positioned on opposite sides of a styling head 110 (see, e.g., FIGS. 1 and 5). In some implementations, the hair styling tool 100 may include a cosmetic jar 140 that is removably connected to the base of the handle 130 (see, e.g., FIG. 4). In this way, hair cream, lotion, or another cosmetic product may be conveniently stored with the hair styling tool 100.
  • As shown in FIGS. 1-4, in some implementations, a hair styling tool 100 may comprise a styling head 110 connected to an elongated handle 130 by a cylindrical shaft 125, and a cosmetic jar 140 that is threadedly secured to the base of the handle 130.
  • As shown in FIGS. 1 and 5, in some implementations, the styling head 110 may have a flat paddle configuration and comprise a brush portion 112 and a comb portion 118. In some implementations, the styling head 110 may be relatively thin and wide, presenting large opposite exterior surfaces. In some implementations, the brush portion 112 and the comb portion 118 extend from opposite exterior surfaces of the styling head 110. In this way, depending on the type of hair and/or style, the user may select the appropriate styling tool (i.e., the brush portion 112 or the comb portion 118) for styling their hair.
  • As shown in FIGS. 1, 3, and 5, in some implementations, the brush portion 112 may comprise grouped bristles that extend from a first exterior surface of the styling head 110. In some implementations, the brush portion 112 may include natural bristles, synthetic bristles, plastic bristles, metal bristles, or a combination thereof.
  • As shown in FIGS. 1, 2, and 5, in some implementations, the comb portion 118 may comprise a series of single and spaced apart teeth that extend from a second exterior surface of the styling head 110. In some implementations, the comb portion 118 may include natural teeth, synthetic teeth, plastic teeth, metal teeth, or a combination thereof.
  • As shown in FIG. 1, in some implementations, the elongated handle 130 of the hair styling tool 100 is configured to be grasped by a human hand (i.e., the handle 130 is sufficiently large to be grasped and held by the clenched fist of a user). In some implementations, the handle 130 may have a generally cylindrical exterior profile (see, e.g., FIG. 6).
  • As shown in FIG. 8, in some implementations, the base of the handle 130 may comprise a recess 132 therein that is configured to threadedly engage with a proximal end 148 of the cosmetic jar 140.
  • As shown in FIGS. 3-4, and 7-8, in some implementations, the cosmetic jar 140 may comprise a bottom 142 having a cylindrical sidewall 144 extending upwardly therefrom, the proximal end 148 of the cylindrical sidewall 144 being threaded. In some implementations, an interior space 146 for containing a cosmetic product is defined by the bottom 142 and the cylindrical sidewall 144 of the cosmetic jar 140 (see, e.g., FIG. 8). In some implementations, the exterior profile of the cosmetic jar 140 may be configured to match the exterior contour of the handle 130 (see, e.g., FIG. 3).
  • In some implementations, the hair styling tool 100 may be configured so that a cosmetic product contained within the cosmetic jar 140 does not leak therefrom when the cosmetic jar 140 has been secured to the base of the handle 130 (i.e., the junction between the cosmetic jar 140 and the base of the handle 130 may be watertight). In some implementations, the recess 132 of the handle 130 and/or the proximal end 148 of the cosmetic jar 140 may be configured to prevent a cosmetic product contained therein from leaking through the junction therebetween (e.g., an O-ring may be positioned about the proximal end 148 of the cosmetic jar 140).
  • In some implementations, the cosmetic jar 140 may be secured to the base of the handle 130 using the following steps:
  • Initially, the proximal end 148 of the cosmetic jar 140 may be positioned adjacent the base of the handle 130.
  • Then, the cosmetic jar 140 may be twisted so that the proximal end 148 thereof engages with the screw thread located within the recess 132 of the handle 130. In this way, the cosmetic jar 140 may be secured to the handle 130 of the hair styling tool 100 (see, e.g., FIG. 1).
  • Reference throughout this specification to “an embodiment” or “implementation” or words of similar import means that a particular described feature, structure, or characteristic is included in at least one embodiment of the present invention. Thus, the phrase “in some implementations” or a phrase of similar import in various places throughout this specification does not necessarily refer to the same embodiment.
  • Many modifications and other embodiments of the inventions set forth herein will come to mind to one skilled in the art to which these inventions pertain having the benefit of the teachings presented in the foregoing descriptions and the associated drawings.

  • While operations are depicted in the drawings in a particular order, this should not be understood as requiring that such operations be performed in the particular order shown or in sequential order, or that all illustrated operations be performed, to achieve desirable results.

Claims (9)

1. A hair styling tool comprising:
a styling head connected to an elongated handle by a cylindrical shaft, and a cosmetic jar that is removably secured to a base of the handle;
wherein:
the styling head comprises a brush portion and a comb portion, the brush portion and the comb portion extend from opposite exterior surfaces of the styling head; and
the cosmetic jar is configured to contain a cosmetic product therein.
2. The hair styling tool of claim 1, wherein the cosmetic jar comprises a bottom having a cylindrical sidewall extending upwardly therefrom, the proximal end of the cylindrical sidewall is threaded, an interior space for containing a cosmetic product is defined by the bottom and the cylindrical sidewall of the cosmetic jar.
3. The hair styling tool of claim 2, wherein the base of the handle includes a recess therein that is configured to threadedly engage with the proximal end of the cosmetic jar.
4. The hair styling tool of claim 1, wherein the brush portion comprises grouped bristles that extend from a first exterior surface of the styling head and the comb portion comprises a series of single and spaced apart teeth that extend from a second exterior surface of the styling head.
5. A hair styling tool comprising:
a styling head connected to an elongated handle by a cylindrical shaft, and a cosmetic jar that is removably secured to a base of the handle;
wherein:
the styling head comprises a brush portion and a comb portion, the brush portion and the comb portion extend from opposite exterior surfaces of the styling head;
the brush portion comprises grouped bristles that extend from a first exterior surface of the styling head and the comb portion comprises a series of single and spaced apart teeth that extend from a second exterior surface of the styling head; and
the cosmetic jar is configured to contain a cosmetic product therein.
6. The hair styling tool of claim 5, wherein the cosmetic jar comprises a bottom having a cylindrical sidewall extending upwardly therefrom, the proximal end of the cylindrical sidewall is threaded, an interior space for containing a cosmetic product is defined by the bottom and the cylindrical sidewall of the cosmetic jar.
7. The hair styling tool of claim 6, wherein the base of the handle includes a recess therein that is configured to threadedly engage with the proximal end of the cosmetic jar.
8. A hair styling tool comprising:
a styling head connected to an elongated handle by a cylindrical shaft, and a cosmetic jar that is removably secured to a base of the handle;
wherein:
the styling head comprises a brush portion and a comb portion, the brush portion and the comb portion extend from opposite exterior surfaces of the styling head;
the cosmetic jar comprises a bottom having a cylindrical sidewall extending upwardly therefrom, the proximal end of the cylindrical sidewall is threaded, an interior space for containing a cosmetic product is defined by the bottom and the cylindrical sidewall of the cosmetic jar; and
the base of the handle includes a recess therein that is configured to threadedly engage with the proximal end of the cosmetic jar.
9. The hair styling tool of claim 8, wherein the brush portion comprises grouped bristles that extend from a first exterior surface of the styling head and the comb portion comprises a series of single and spaced apart teeth that extend from a second exterior surface of the styling head.
