- The present invention relates to a polishing composite membrane, and more particularly to an elastic TPU polishing composite membrane and a polishing tool with the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane.
- In order to finish an outer or inner surface of the workpiece, a sanding and polishing tool is commonly used for sanding and polishing the surface of the workpiece. For those tools, polishing composite membranes are essential. Those tools may also be used for partially sanding the surface of the workpiece depended on the application thereof. In the areas of automobile manufacturing and repair of cars, precision sanding and polishing of 3C electronic industry, the sanding and polishing tools are commonly used. The sanding and polishing tools are commonly provided for manually finishing the surface of the workpiece so as to increase the quality thereof. Due to the flexibility and simplicity of operating the hand sanding or abrading tool, such as the sandpaper or conventional files having variety of cuts or tooth configurations, it is widely applied for finishing or rubbing the workpiece. Although those conventional sanding and polishing tools are suitable for a number of applications and no matter those devices are used manually or automatically, the conventional sanding and polishing tools for finishing the surface of workpiece manually or automatically are still suffering from many disadvantages, such as poor properties of tension, elasticity and so on. On the other hand, as some conventional sanding and polishing tools are capable of absorbing liquid, however, the liquid are easily and quickly released from the interior of the conventional sanding and polishing tools. As a result, users have to make the conventional sanding and polishing tools to absorb liquid again in a very short time resulting in a low efficiency. In addition, some conventional sanding and polishing tools are easy to be worn and have a short life span resulting in an increased cost.
- Particularly, for some products which have a high surface precision requirement, the surfaces of these products must be polished with a higher standard. However, in the process of actual polishing processing, the existing conventional polishing composite membranes coated on the conventional sanding and polishing tools cannot apply to the products with irregular shape or surfaces.
- The invention is advantageous in that it provides an elastic TPU polishing composite membrane and a polishing tool therewith, wherein the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane not only has toughness, wear resistance, cold resistance, and good environmental protection non-toxic properties, but also has the functions of polishing and grinding.
- Another advantage of the invention is to provide an elastic TPU polishing composite membrane and a polishing tool therewith, wherein a TPU adhesive film layer of the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane is combined with an abrasive layer made of polished abrasive material to form a composite material which combined the excellent properties of the TPU adhesive film layer and the abrasive layer, thereby the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane having excellent grinding and polishing performances.
- Another advantage of the invention is to provide an elastic TPU polishing composite membrane and a polishing tool therewith, wherein a lubricant anti-static coating layer of the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane has excellent anti-clogging and lubrication function, so that the life span of the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane is extended, thereby the quality of polished surface is improved and the scratch thereon is reduced.
- Another advantage of the invention is to provide an elastic TPU polishing composite membrane and a polishing tool therewith, wherein the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane and a polishing tool therewith can be made into different shapes and sizes according to different requirements.
- Another advantage of the invention is to provide an elastic TPU polishing composite membrane and a polishing tool therewith, wherein the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane and the polishing tool therewith are durable and economical for users.
- Another advantage of the invention is to provide an elastic TPU polishing composite membrane and a polishing tool therewith, wherein the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane and the polishing tool therewith can effectively polish the surface of the workpiece such as electronic products with irregular figures.
- Another advantage of the invention is to provide an elastic TPU polishing composite membrane and a polishing tool therewith, wherein the TPU adhesive film layer is firmly adhered to the surface of the abrasive layer by a modified adhesive.
- Additional advantages and features of the invention will become apparent from the description which follows, and may be realized by means of the instrumentalities and combinations particular point out in the appended claims.
- According to the present invention, the foregoing and other objects and advantages are attained by an elastic TPU polishing composite membrane, comprising:
- an abrasive layer:
- a TPU adhesive film layer overlappedly adhered to one surface of the abrasive layer; and
- a lubricant anti-static coating layer evenly coated on other surface of the abrasive layer.
- According to the present invention, the foregoing and other objects and advantages are also attained by a polishing tool, comprising an elastic TPU polishing composite membrane and a polishing tool main body combined with the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane, wherein the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane comprises:
- an abrasive layer;
- a TPU adhesive film layer overlappedly adhered to one surface of the abrasive layer; and
- a lubricant anti-static coating layer evenly coated on other surface of the abrasive layer, wherein the TPU adhesive film layer is affixed to the TPU adhesive film layer of the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane.
- According to the present invention, the foregoing and other objects and advantages are also attained by a manufacture method of an elastic TPU polishing composite membrane, comprising the steps of:
- overlappedly adhering a TPU adhesive film layer to one surface of an abrasive layer by a modified adhesive; and
- evenly coating a lubricant anti-static coating layer on other surface of the abrasive layer so as to form the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane.
- Still further objects and advantages will become apparent from a consideration of the ensuing description and drawings.
- These and other objectives, features, and advantages of the present invention will become apparent from the following detailed description, the accompanying drawings, and the appended claims.

FIG. 2 is a perspective view of the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane according to the above preferred embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 3 illustrates the components and the weight ratio of a modified adhesive of the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane. -
FIG. 4 illustrates the components and the weight ratio of a lubricant anti-static coating layer of the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane. -
FIG. 5 is a perspective view of a polishing tool with the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. -
FIG. 6 is a perspective view of a polishing tool with the elastic TPU polishing composite membrane according to another preferred embodiment of the present invention. - The following description is disclosed to enable any person skilled in the art to make and use the present invention. Preferred embodiments are provided in the following description only as examples and modifications will be apparent to those skilled in the art. The general principles defined in the following description would be applied to other embodiments, alternatives, modifications, equivalents, and applications without departing from the spirit and scope of the present invention.
- Referring to
FIG. 1 toFIG. 5 of the drawings, an elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 and apolishing tool 1000 with the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention are illustrated, wherein the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 comprises a TPUadhesive film layer 10, anabrasive layer 20 and a lubricantanti-static coating layer 30. Theabrasive layer 20 is overlappedly connected with the TPUadhesive film layer 10 and is overlapped with the TPUadhesive film layer 10. The lubricantanti-static coating layer 30 is evenly coated on the surface of theabrasive layer 20. Theabrasive layer 20 is made of polished abrasive material to polish the surface of the workpiece such as electronic products. - Specifically, as shown in
FIG. 1 of the drawings, the TPUadhesive film layer 10 is overlapped on the top surface of theabrasive layer 20 and the lubricantanti-static coating layer 30 is coated on the bottom surface of theabrasive layer 20. More specifically, as shown inFIG. 2 of the drawings, the TPUadhesive film layer 10 further comprises a modifiedadhesive 40 between the TPUadhesive film layer 10 and theabrasive layer 20. In other words, the TPUadhesive film layer 10 is adhered to the top surface of theabrasive layer 20 by the modifiedadhesive 40. - More specifically, as shown in
FIG. 3 of the drawings, the compositions of manufacturing the modifiedadhesive 40 include aurethane resin 41, acuring agent 42 and aflatting agent 43. According to the preferred embodiment of the invention, a basic proportion of theurethane resin 41, thecuring agent 42 and theflatting agent 43 by weight is 100:10˜20:0.5˜1.5. Preferably, the preferably proportion of theurethane resin 41, thecuring agent 42 and theflatting agent 43 by weight is 100:15:1. The modifiedadhesive 40 is firmly adhered theabrasive layer 20 to the TPUadhesive film layer 10 and enhances the adhesive force between theabrasive layer 20 and the TPUadhesive film layer 10. One skilled in the art will understand that the proportion of compositions of manufacturing the modifiedadhesive 40 of the embodiments of the present invention described above is exemplary only and not intended to be limiting. - More specifically, as shown in
FIG. 4 of the drawings, the compositions of manufacturing the lubricantanti-static coating layer 30 are alubricant solution paraffin 31, a film-formingagent 32 and anantistatic agent 33. According to the preferred embodiment of the invention, a basic proportion of thelubricant solution paraffin 31, the film-formingagent 32 and theantistatic agent 33 by weight is 100:8˜12:5˜8. Preferably, the preferably proportion of thelubricant solution paraffin 31, the film-formingagent 32 and theantistatic agent 33 by weight is 100:10:6.5. One skilled in the art will understand that the proportion of compositions of manufacturing the lubricantanti-static coating layer 30 of the embodiments of the present invention described above is exemplary only and not intended to be limiting. - It is worth mentioning that the TPU
adhesive film layer 10 of the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 is made of elastic material having toughness, wear resistance, cold resistance, and good environmental protection non-toxic properties. - It is worth mentioning that the TPU
adhesive film layer 10 of the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 is combined with theabrasive layer 20 made of polished abrasive material so as to form a composite material which combined the excellent properties of the TPUadhesive film layer 10 and theabrasive layer 20. Thereby, the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 having excellent grinding and polishing performances. - Moreover, it is worth mentioning that as the
abrasive layer 20 is adhered with the TPUadhesive film layer 10 by the modifiedadhesive 40, the TPUadhesive film layer 10 not only has toughness, wear resistance, cold resistance, and good environmental protection non-toxic properties, but also has the functions of polishing and grinding, so that the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 is flexible grinding tool having soft, excellent tensile and elastic properties. - It is worth mentioning that the lubricant
anti-static coating layer 30 evenly coated on theabrasive layer 20 has excellent anti-clogging and lubrication function, so that the life span of the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 is extended, thereby the quality of polished surface is improved and the scratch thereon is reduced. - As shown in
FIG. 5 of the drawings, thepolishing tool 1000 with the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 further comprises a polishing toolmain body 200 connected with the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100. The polishing toolmain body 200 is affixed to the TPUadhesive film layer 10 of the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100. The polishing toolmain body 200 is made of sponge material and thepolishing tool 1000 with the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 is implemented as an elastic polishing sponge tool. - It is worth mentioning that the
polishing tool 1000 with the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 is cut and made into different shapes and sizes according to different requirements. For example, thepolishing tool 1000 with the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 can be square, disc-shaped and so on. Users can hold thepolishing tool 1000 in a manner of palms closely contacting the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 to polish the surface of the workpiece, such as electronic products with irregular figures using the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100. The peripheral side portions of the polishing toolmain body 200 of thepolishing tool 1000 are also manufactured into a shape which conform to the human engineering in such a manner that the comfortable sensation of users during operating process is enhanced and thepolishing tool 1000 is not easy to be slipped off. It is worth mentioning that thepolishing tool 1000 is not only used for manually polishing the surface of the workpiece, but also can be assembled with automatic devices to achieve automatically sanding and polishing performance according to other embodiments of the present invention. For example, in some embodiments of the present invention, thepolishing tool 1000 is assembled with a driving member such as a motor and the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 of thepolishing tool 1000 is faced outwardly for polishing the surface of the workpiece automatically. One skilled in the art will understand that the shapes and operation manners of thepolishing tool 1000 with the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 of the embodiments of the present invention described above are exemplary only and not intended to be limiting. - As shown in
FIG. 6 of the drawings, apolishing tool 1000A with the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 is illustrated. Thepolishing tool 1000A with the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 further comprises a polishing toolmain body 200A connected with the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100. The polishing toolmain body 200A is affixed to the TPUadhesive film layer 10 of the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100. The polishing toolmain body 200A is made of flexible plastic material and thepolishing tool 1000A with the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 is implemented as an elastic polishing plastics tool. - One skilled in the art will understand that the polishing tool
main body composite membrane 100 can be implemented as other shaped structure and be combined with other polishing toolmain body 200 with different materials so as to adapt for polishing and grinding various products. - According to the embodiments of the present invention, a method of manufacturing the elastic TPU polishing
composite membrane 100 is also provided, wherein the manufacturing method of the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100 comprises the following steps. - (a) overlappedly adhering the TPU
adhesive film layer 10 to one surface of theabrasive layer 20 by the modifiedadhesive 40; and - (b) evenly coating the lubricant
anti-static coating layer 30 on other surface of theabrasive layer 20 so as to form the elastic TPU polishingcomposite membrane 100. - It is worth mentioning that the manufacturing method of the elastic TPU polishing
composite membrane 100 further comprises the following steps. - (i) Provide the
urethane resin 41, the curingagent 42 and the flattingagent 43 to form the modifiedadhesive 40. - (ii) Provide the
lubricant solution paraffin 31, the film-formingagent 32 and theantistatic agent 33 to form the lubricantanti-static coating layer 30. - It is worth mentioning that in the step (i), a basic proportion of the
urethane resin 41, the curingagent 42 and the flattingagent 43 by weight is 100:10˜20:0.5˜1.5. - Preferably, in the step (i), a preferable proportion of the
urethane resin 41, the curingagent 42 and the flattingagent 43 by weight is 100:15:1. - It is worth mentioning that in the step (ii), a basic proportion of the
lubricant solution paraffin 31, the film-formingagent 32 and theantistatic agent 33 is 100:8˜12:5˜8. - It is worth mentioning that in the step (ii), a preferable proportion of the
lubricant solution paraffin 31, the film-formingagent 32 and theantistatic agent 33 is 100:10:6.5. - One skilled in the art will understand that the embodiment of the present invention as shown in the drawings and described above is exemplary only and not intended to be limiting.
- It will thus be seen that the objects of the present invention have been fully and effectively accomplished. The embodiments have been shown and described for the purposes of illustrating the functional and structural principles of the present invention and is subject to change without departure from such principles. Therefore, this invention includes all modifications encompassed within the spirit and scope of the following claims.
