Abstract
A soap holder includes a holder having a first wall on the periphery thereof, and a support face which is enclosed by the first wall. A first rib and a second rib respectively extend from the top of the support face. The first rib is parallel to the second rib, and they have different heights so as to keep the soap on the first and second ribs at an angle relative to the holder. The first and second ribs provide better ventilation between the soap and the support face.
Description
- 1. Fields of the Invention
- The present invention relates to a soap holder, and more particularly, to a soap holder with ribs extending from the support face thereof so as to support the ribs and provides better ventilation.
- 2. Descriptions of Prior Art
- The conventional soap holder is designed to allow the user to put the soap in the soap holder. In most of the soap holders, there are slots defined through the soap holder so as to drain exceed liquid from the soap holder.
-
FIG. 1 shows aconventional soap holder 21 which has asupport face 22 which is a recessed face and thesoap 10 is put on thesupport face 22. Thesupport face 22 hasholes 23 for drainage purpose. This prevent exceed liquid accumulated at thesupport face 22 so as to prevent thesoap 10 from being softened and to maintain thesoap 10 to be solid. - There are
multiple ribs 24 extending from thesupport face 22, and thesoap 10 is supported on theribs 24. Although thesoap 10 is not in contact with thesupport face 22 directly, the exceed liquid of thesoap 10 will be firmly attach thesoap 10 to theribs 24. When the user picks up thesoap 10, the user has to apply force, and sometimes pulls the soap holder up. The ventilation problem between thesoap 10 and thesoap holder 21 is not satisfied. - The present invention intends to provide a soap holder to eliminate the shortcomings mentioned above.
- The present invention relates to a soap holder and comprises a holder having a first wall extending from the periphery thereof, and a support face which is enclosed by the first wall. A first rib and a second rib respectively extend from the top of the support face. The first rib is parallel to the second rib, and the first rib is lower than the second rib.
- Preferably, a water dish is connected to the underside of the holder, and the support face has at least one drain hole so that exceed liquid drains to the water dish. A third rib extends from the top of the support face and is located between the first and second ribs. The third rib is lower than the first rib.
- Preferably, the holder has an opening in the underside thereof and the water dish is engaged with the opening. The water dish has a second wall extending from the top thereof.
- Preferably, the second wall extends from a distance from the periphery of the water dish to form a shoulder portion between the second wall and the periphery of the water dish.
- Preferably, the water dish has at least one reinforcement ridge formed on the top thereof.
- Preferably, the distance between the third rib and the second rib is shorter than the distance between the third rib and the first rib.
- Preferably, the height of the first rib is lower than the height of the first wall, and the height of the second rib is higher than the height of the first wall.
- The primary object of the present invention is to provide a soap holder which keeps the soap at an angle, and provides better ventilation between the soap and the support face of the holder.
- The present invention will become more obvious from the following description when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings which show, for purposes of illustration only, a preferred embodiment in accordance with the present invention.
-
FIG. 1 is a cross sectional view of a conventional soap holder; -
FIG. 2 is a perspective view to show the soap holder of the present invention; -
FIG. 3 is a cross sectional view of the soap holder of the present invention; -
FIG. 4 shows the use of the soap holder of the present invention; -
FIGS. 5 to 7 respectively show the status of the soaps of different sizes put in the soap holder of the present invention; -
FIG. 8 is a cross sectional view of the second embodiment of the soap holder of the present invention, and -
FIG. 9 is a cross sectional view to show that a soap is put in the second embodiment of the soap holder of the present invention. - Referring to
FIGS. 2 and 3 , the soap holder of the present invention comprises aholder 30 having afirst wall 32 and asupport face 31 which is enclosed by thefirst wall 32. Thefirst wall 32 extends from the periphery of theholder 30. Afirst rib 33, asecond rib 34 and athird rib 35 respectively extend from the top of thesupport face 31. Thefirst rib 33 is parallel to thesecond rib 34, and the height of thefirst rib 33 from thesupport face 31 is lower than the height of thesecond rib 34. Thethird rib 35 is located between the first andsecond ribs third rib 35 is lower than the height of thefirst rib 33. The distance between thethird rib 35 and thesecond rib 34 is shorter than the distance between thethird rib 35 and thefirst rib 33. Preferably, the height of thefirst rib 33 is lower than that of thefirst wall 32, and the height of thethird rib 34 is higher than that of thefirst wall 32. - The
support face 31 has at least onedrain hole 36 defined through thesupport face 31. The at least onedrain hole 36 can be an elongate slot which is parallel to thefirst rib 33. - As shown in
FIGS. 4 and 5 , thesoap 10 is put on and supported on the first andsecond ribs soap 10 is rested at angle relative to theholder 30 and located within the area enclosed by thefirst wall 32. The length of thesoap 10 becomes shorter after use, as shown inFIG. 6 , thesoap 10 is then supported on the first andthird ribs first wall 32. As shown inFIG. 7 , thesoap 10 may also rested on the side of thethird rib 35 and the body of thesoap 10 is supported on thefirst rib 33. - The first and
second ribs soap 10 to be positioned at an angle regardless of the length of thesoap 10, the exceed liquid can easily flow downward along the inclined surface of thesoap 10. For ashorter soap 10, thethird rib 35 lifts thesoap 10 from thesupport face 31 so that thesoap 10 will not be attached on thelarger support face 31. The present invention provides a better ventilation between thesoap 10 and thesupport face 31, thesoap 10 is not soaked in water or liquid. - As shown in
FIGS. 8 and 9 , theholder 30 has an opening defined in the underside thereof and awater dish 40 is engaged with the opening. Thewater dish 40 has asecond wall 42 extending from the top thereof. In detail, thesecond wall 42 extends from a distance from the periphery of thewater dish 40 so as to form ashoulder portion 43 between thesecond wall 42 and the periphery of thewater dish 40. Theshoulder portion 43 can also be formed at only one side of thewater dish 40. Thesecond wall 42 prevents water from splashing out from thewater dish 40. Theshoulder portion 43 allows the user to easily remove thewater dish 40 from theholder 30. The at least onedrain hole 36 of theholder 30 is an elongate slot and parallel to thefirst rib 33. The exceed liquid drains into thewater dish 40 via the at least onedrain hole 36. Thewater dish 40 has at least onereinforcement ridge 44 formed on the top thereof so as to have better strength. - The present invention has the following advantages:
- The first and
second ribs soap 10 to be positioned at angle relative to theholder 30, so that the user can easily grab thesoap 10. A distance is formed between thesoap 10 and thesupport face 31, so that the ventilation is improved compared with the conventional soap holder. - The inclination of the
soap 10 allows water or liquid to flow downward quickly, so that thesoap 10 will not be soaked in the water or liquid. - The
third rib 35 allows theshorter soap 10 to be positioned at an angle, and a distance is formed between thesoap 10 and thesupport face 31. - The
soap 10 is not attached to thesupport face 31, and thewater dish 40 collects the water or liquid to keep the area clean and neat. - While we have shown and described the embodiment in accordance with the present invention, it should be clear to those skilled in the art that further embodiments may be made without departing from the scope of the present invention.
