A beverage bottle storage device prevents heating of beverage bottles being stored while camping. The device includes a bottom wall and a perimeter wall defining an interior space. A lid is pivotally coupled to the perimeter wall and positionable to extend over and cover an opening into the interior space. A closure secures the lid to the perimeter wall defining a closed position when the closure is engaged. The lid is pivotable into an open position when the closure is disengaged. The lid and the perimeter wall each have a respective heat reflective outer surface wherein each of the lid and the perimeter wall prevent solar heating of the interior space when the lid is in the closed position.
Description
- The disclosure relates to storage devices and more particularly pertains to a new storage device for preventing heating of beverage bottles being stored while camping.
- An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a bottom wall and a perimeter wall defining an interior space.
- There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
- The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
- The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
-
FIG. 1 is a top front side open position perspective view of a beverage bottle storage device according to an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 2 is a top front side perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure in a closed position. -
FIG. 3 is a front view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 4 is a side view of an embodiment of the disclosure. -
FIG. 5 is a top front side open position perspective view of an embodiment of the disclosure in use. - With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
FIGS. 1 through 5 thereof, a new storage device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by thereference numeral 10 will be described. - As best illustrated in
FIGS. 1 through 5 , the beveragebottle storage device 10 generally comprises abottom wall 12. Thebottom wall 12 may be constructed of a flexible material. Aperimeter wall 14 is coupled to and extends upwardly from aperimeter edge 16 of thebottom wall 12 defining aninterior space 18. Theperimeter wall 14 is constructed of a flexible material to facilitate compaction and storage of thedevice 10 when not in use. Anupper edge 20 of theperimeter wall 14 defines anopening 22 into theinterior space 18. Theinterior space 18 is designed to accommodate a plurality ofbeverage bottles 24 such as water bottles for use while camping or during a similar outdoor activity when potable water may be needed but would need to be positioned in the sun for an extended period of time. Theinterior space 18 has a width greater than 25 centimeters and a length greater than 35 centimeters to accommodate approximately 24 conventionally sized water bottles. - A
lid 26 is pivotally coupled to theperimeter wall 14. Thelid 26 is constructed of a flexible material to facilitate compaction and storage of thedevice 10. Thelid 26 is positionable to extend over and cover the opening 22 into theinterior space 18. Thelid 26 is pivotally coupled to a firstlongitudinal side 28 of theupper edge 20 of theperimeter wall 14 and may be an integral extension of theperimeter wall 14. Aclosure 30 is coupled to thelid 26 and theperimeter wall 14 such that theclosure 30 secures thelid 26 to theperimeter wall 14 defining a closedposition 32 when theclosure 30 is engaged. Thelid 26 is pivotable into anopen position 34 when theclosure 30 is disengaged. Theclosure 30 is azipper 36 extending along aligned edges of thelid 26 and theperimeter wall 14. Theclosure 30 extends fully aroundopposite end sides 38 and a secondlongitudinal side 40 of theupper edge 20 of theperimeter wall 14. - Each of a pair of
handles 42 is coupled to theperimeter wall 14. Each of thehandles 42 is coupled to and extends from an associated one of a pair ofside sections 44 of theperimeter wall 14. Theside sections 44 may correspond to theopposite end sides 38 of theupper edge 20 of theperimeter wall 14. Eachhandle 42 comprises apanel 46 having an upperlongitudinal edge 48 and a pair ofside edges 50 coupled to theperimeter wall 14. Eachpanel 46 has a free bottomlongitudinal edge 52 wherein thehandle 42 is configured for receiving fingers inserted under and around the bottomlongitudinal edge 42 to facilitate lifting of thedevice 10. - The
lid 26 and theperimeter wall 14 each have a respective heat reflective outer surface 54 wherein each of thelid 26 and theperimeter wall 14 prevent solar heating of theinterior space 18 when thelid 26 is in the closedposition 32. Thus, a temperature of theinterior space 18 is prevented from rising excessively while in thedevice 10 is in the sun wherein spoiling of the taste of the water in thebottles 24 due to overheating is inhibited. - In use, the
device 10 prevents a change in the taste of water stored inbottles 24 while camping or the like where thebottles 24 are not actively cooled and may be positioned in the sun for an extended period of time. - With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
- Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
