Abstract

A ceramic guard plate, covered by a cladding layer, comprising plural first, second, and third ceramic plates lined up straightly. Each of the first ceramic plates comprises at least one symmetric pair of a first and a second sides, and each of the second and third ceramic plates comprises at least one symmetric pair of a first and a second lateral faces. The first and second sides and the first and second lateral faces are correspondingly staggered inclined planes. An adhesive is deformably adhered between the first side of the first ceramic plate and the second lateral face of the third ceramic plate and between the second side of the first ceramic plate and the first lateral face of the second ceramic plate. Accordingly, the ceramic plates can be bent relatively from each other and the protection function can be maintained at the same time.

Description

    FIELD OF THE INVENTION
  • The present invention relates to a ceramic guard plate, and more particular to a bendable ceramic guard plate that can provide effective protection.
  • BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
  • Generally, a bulletproof cloth mainly comprises sequentially adhered cladding layer, ceramic plate, and barrier layer. The aforementioned cladding layer is a bulletproof fiber sheet, the ceramic plate is formed of plural butted ceramic plates, and the barrier layer is formed of plural adhered laminated bulletproof fiber sheets. When a bullet is shot into the bulletproof cloth, most of the penetration energy can be eliminated by the passivation, embedment, damage, and absorption of the ceramic plate, and the barrier layer can absorb the remaining energy of the bullet, so as to accomplish the bulletproof function.
  • However, for a conventional bulletproof cloth, a firm and unbendable flat plate or arc plate is formed after adhering each of the ceramic plates together, and accordingly, the bulletproof cloth can not fit to the body curves of different users, and thus the protection area can not be enlarged to provide better protection function. For the conventional bulletproof cloth, if the individual ceramic plate is bent forcefully, the seam between the adhered ceramic plates will be in a V-shape. When a bullet is shot in through the V-shaped seam between ceramic plates, the impact force of shot-in bullets mitigated by the seam is obviously smaller than by the ceramic plates, and therefore the seam provides no protection function.
  • SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION
  • Accordingly, in order to overcome the foregoing disadvantages, a structure different from the previous technology is provided by the inventors through years of experience, continuous development, research, and improvement.

  • Another objective of the present invention is to provide a ceramic guard plate which can solve the problem of a protection dead zone formed at the seam between adjacent ceramic plates that a bullet may be shot through by arranging the adjacent ceramic plates with their sides in a staggered fashion, so as to provide protection function.
  • To reach the objective stated above, the present invention provides a ceramic guard plate, which is covered by a cladding layer. The ceramic guard plate comprises plural first ceramic plates, plural second ceramic plates, and plural third ceramic plates, in which the plural first ceramic plates are lined up in a straight line, and each of the first ceramic plates comprises at least one symmetric pair of a first side and a second side. Each of the first side and the second side is an inclined plane extending outwardly and downwardly from a top side of the first ceramic plate. The plural second ceramic plates and plural third ceramic plates are lined up separately in a straight line and adjacent to the two sides of the plural first ceramic plates. Each of the second and third ceramic plates comprises at least one symmetric pair of a first lateral face and a second lateral face, and each of the first lateral faces and the second lateral faces of the second and third ceramic plates is an inclined plane extending outwardly and upwardly from a bottom side of the second and third ceramic plates, respectively. And an adhesive is deformably adhered between the first side of the first ceramic plate and the second lateral face of the third ceramic plate and between the second side of the first ceramic plate and the first lateral face of the second ceramic plate.
  • In implementation, the ceramic guard plate further comprises a barrier layer, which is adhered to the bottom sides of the plural first ceramic plates, the plural second ceramic plates, and the plural third ceramic plates, and the barrier layer is formed by plural laminated bulletproof fiber layers.
  • In implementation, the first ceramic plates, the second ceramic plates and the third ceramic plates are tetragon plates or hexagon plates.
  • The present invention will be understood more fully by reference to the detailed description of the drawings and the preferred embodiments below.
