Abstract

A fan assembly includes a fan, a guiding board, and a weight. The fan includes an end board defining a vent. The guiding board is pivotably mounted to a top of the end board. The weight is detachably mounted to the guiding board.

Description

    BACKGROUND
  • 1. Technical Field
  • The present disclosure relates to a fan assembly.
  • 2. Description of Related Art
  • A weight of guiding boards mounted to fans is fixed. As a result, when the fans operate, the guiding boards extend away from the fan at a fixed angle, which cannot be adjusted to adjust a direction of airflow generated by the fan.
  • BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS
  • Many aspects of the present embodiments can be better understood with reference to the following drawings. The components in the drawings are not necessarily drawn to scale, the emphasis instead being placed upon clearly illustrating the principles of the present embodiments. Moreover, in the drawings, all the views are schematic, and like reference numerals designate corresponding parts throughout the several views.
  • FIG. 1 shows an embodiment of a fan assembly comprising a fan and a guiding board, wherein the fan is not operating, and the guiding board is substantially parallel to the fan.
  • FIG. 2 is similar to FIG. 1, but shows the fan operating, and the guiding board slanted relative to the fan at a first angle.
  • FIG. 3 is similar to FIG. 2, but shows the guiding board slanted relative to the fan at a second angle.
  • FIG. 4 is an enlarged view of the circled portion IV of FIG. 3.
  • DETAILED DESCRIPTION
  • The disclosure, including the accompanying drawings, is illustrated by way of example and not by way of limitation. It should be noted that references to “an” or “one” embodiment in this disclosure are not necessarily to the same embodiment, and such references mean “at least one.”
  • Referring to FIGS. 1-3, an embodiment of a fan assembly 10 comprises a fan 20, a guiding board 30, two weights 40, and two fasteners 50. In one embodiment, the fasteners 50 are made of rubber.
  • The fan 20 comprises an end board 22. A substantially central portion of the end board 22 defines a vent 24. Two fixing pieces 26 protrude substantially perpendicularly from opposite sides, respectively, of a top portion of the end board 22.
  • Two pins 32 extend from opposite end portions of a top portion of the guiding board 30, to be pivotably received in the fixing pieces 26. The guiding board 30 is pivotably mounted to the fan 20 through the two pins 32. Two rods 34 extend from opposite end portions of a bottom portion of the guiding board 30.
  • When the fan 20 is not operating, the guiding board 30 is substantially parallel to the end board 22 and covers the vent 24.
  • Referring to FIG. 2, when the fan 20 operates without the weights 40, airflow generated by the fan 20 pushes the guiding board 30 to rotate away from the end board 22, thereby making the guiding board 30 slant relative to the end board 22 at a first angle.
  • FIGS. 3 and 4 show that the weights 40 are fitted about the rods 34. The fasteners 50 are then fitted about the rods 34 and abut the corresponding weights 40 to fix the weights 40 to the guiding board 30. The weights 40 add weight to the guiding board 30. Referring to FIG. 3, when the fan 20 operates with the weights 40, the guiding board 30 is slanted relative to the end board 22 at a second angle, which is less than the first angle. Therefore, when the fan 20 operates, the weights 40 can be added or removed from the rods 34 to adjust a direction of airflow.
  • In another embodiment, more guiding boards 30 and more weights 40 can be added. For example, two guiding boards 30 can be mounted to the fan 20 side-by-side. One of the guiding boards 30 comprises a number of weights 40, and the other guiding board 30 has no weights 40, so that the airflow can be adjusted in different directions.
  • It is believed that the present embodiments and their advantages will be understood from the foregoing description, and various changes may be made thereto without departing from the spirit and scope of the description or sacrificing all of their material advantages, the examples hereinbefore described merely being exemplary embodiments.
