Abstract
I wish to introduce a toilet venting system that vents through the toilet's bowl and not the toilet's seat. Using the bowl's channels in the toilet that the water uses when the toilet is flushed we can let these channels serve as venting channels. The vented air is pulled through the bowl and forced back down into the toilet's drain system. The vent fan can be installed in the wall behind the toilet and is attached to the toilet by two flexible hoses one for the intake air and the other for the exhaust air. The vent is turned on by applying presser on the toilet seat and is turned off by flushing the toilet.
Description
- As shown in the drawing we have three views of the toilet and its venting system.
FIG. 1 shows the cut away view of the toilet bowl and the venting system in the wall behind it.FIG. 2 shows the back of the toilet were the intake air vent and the exhaust air can easily be seen. AndFIG. 3 shows the right side of the toilet with a cut away view of the venting system in the wall. - When the toilet is in uses the presser switch 1 under the toilet seat turns on the vent fan 2 and the air is pulled through the bowl's flushing
channels 3 and out through the toilet's intake port 4. The air then goes through theflex tube 5 and into theventing system 6. The air moves through the fan where it forces open the sewer gas valve 7 letting it travel back into the toilet'sexhaust port 8 and down through the toilet and into thedrain system 9. When the toilet is flushed the vent offswitch 10 is activated and the vent is turned off and the sewer gas valve closes back, then the water from the toilet's tank 11 falls against theintake stopper valve 12, closing it off as the toilet flushes. The venting system is wired for a standard 120 ac volt power. Thepower cord 13 goes into thecontrol box 14 that holds the switches. The control line 15 that go under the toilet seat and the line that goes to the flushingleaver 16 are low volt sensors that relay information to the control box.
Claims (3)
1. The toilet is designed to include the flow of vented air from the bowl to the drain without disrupting the toilet's ability to flush.
2. The vent is turned on by presser on the toilet seat and is turned off by flushing.
3. The venting system is separate from the toilet and can be installed anywhere near the toilet.
