Abstract
Description
- 1. Technical Field
- The present invention relates to packaging for windshield wipers and windshield wiper accessories.
- 2. Background Information
- Automobiles use a variety of wiper arms to move a wiper blade. Since wiper blades need to be replaced periodically, a consumer often has difficulty in matching the wiper arm of his or her automobile with a wiper blade that can be attached thereto. In the past, this situation was addressed by supplying multiple connectors in either separate packages or with the wiper blade itself so that the consumer could match the appropriate connector with the wiper arm of the consumer's automobile. Often it is hard for the consumer to easily ascertain from the packaging of the connectors whether the connectors are appropriate for his or her wiper arm or whether their attachment will be difficult. In addition, the packaging of connectors often is neither aesthetically pleasing nor educational in nature and so the selling of the connectors by a vendor to a consumer can be difficult. Furthermore, often when opening up the contents of the packages, the connectors and instructions can be strewn in different directions causing a delay in both finding the connectors and instructions and understanding the operation of the connectors from the instructions. Since there is not a convenient place to store the connectors and instructions once taken out of their package, the connectors and instructions can be easily lost or damaged.
- One aspect of the present invention regards a kit for connecting a wiper blade and a wiper arm, the kit including a container that includes: a first panel having a first interior surface; a first enclosure attached to the first interior surface; a second panel having a second interior surface; and a second enclosure attached to the second interior surface. The container further including a hinge attached to the first panel and the second panel. The kit including a wiper blade contained in an interior of the first enclosure and a connector for attaching the wiper blade to a wiper arm, wherein the connector is contained in an interior of the second enclosure.
